Yeah I mainly play Xbox but I also have PS3 and PC versions so I'm game for anything.

If you see me on and I'm doing something else just send me a message and I'll most likely play some

GT is BizzyBum

My gt is xCobalt. I'm always down to play so hit me up whenever.

k I got a problem with the PC version. I bind HK to RB, but the game somehow only does HP on both RB and LB. It's clearly different in the options menu, and I have no idea what's going on. Halp.

edit gah im stupid

Not sure if it's the summer heat, post-EVO withdrawals, the Ultra announcement, or just general boredom speaking, but I'm feeling that Street Fightin' itch again. Only problem being I haven't played SSF4 since AE was new. In other words, I am seriously out of the loop here.

First of all, will the PS3 version of SSF4AE automatically update to AE2012 or do I need to do something for that to happen? If going to '12 costs anything, I'll just wait until Ultra comes out.

Secondly, did AE2012 do anything good/bad for Sakura or Zangief? I used to play those two, but with a break this long, I can probably pick up a new character almost as easily as playing these two. I wonder if I should try Guile or another charge character. Anyone sort of easy to pick up you'd recommend?

And finally, is there still an online PSN community for AE2012 in northern Europe? I'm from Denmark, so i can play okay with anyone north of the Alps, I believe. If not, I'll just fight the AI and be done with that.

I know that Sakura is probably not a character suited that well to someone like me, what with having poor execution and all, but I like her. And that cunts for a lot when it comes to motivation. Also, it's where Zangief comes in. I like a character that can change the pace of the fight by just being there. Zangief does that, unless you're up against someone confident enough that he can get by the SPD threat. Which gives Gief a whole different set of options for poking.

Day2 with Yang;
Character is fun to play, especially when you have a dive kick that can combo, safe rekkas and quick backdash.
Having only played Sim and M.Bison, he feels like a mix of both (he even has a teleport, kinda)

Haven't figured out his dumb buttons or (medium kick, hard kick, standing jab?)and my spacing is really poor for anti airing. Still its refreshing to rush down than poking guys to death.

Day 1 with Sakura/Juri: Holy crap I've gotten bad at this. Also, my Fightstick is broken. Fuck. Built it all by myself, gotta fix it somehow.

I want to clear up the AE PC shit people are kind of misinformed about.

SFIV was designed around fixed specs with a fixed framerate of 60fps (consoles/arcade have one set of specs versus PC which has thousands of different hardware variations). When your computer fails to hold a stable framerate of 60fps there will be major inconsistencies. Combo timing, game speed, and timer are all affected by not running the game with proper settings. The PC version is the best version of the game period. The problem with it lies with a bunch of options capcom gave to the users that shouldn't be fucked with when it comes to fighting games.

One. Vsync does not cause lag online. It's the type of framerate option you use that causes the lag. I can not find the capcom unity blog post about the differences about framerate options, but you should used fixed framerate because the other options have a great effect on online stability.

You should used either use Vsync on with framerate fixed ONLY if your computer can maintain 60 fps at all times. If you can't maintain 60 fps the game will run like shit, and vsync will cause a performance decrease (sometimes up to 50%), and cause these crazy inconsistencies. Also, online play will be fucked up.

If you do not have a capable computer you want to use vsync off with framerate fixed. Some people have claimed vsync in game causes input lag, but honestly I have not noticed any. You can easily enable vsync in your GPU control panel to be on the safe side. I have noticed some weird behaviors with vsync off (pseudo screen tearing) when your PC is perfectly capable with vsync on, but I don't have enough experience with it to discuss any further. The people who can't maintain 60 fps shouldn't have this issue.

I tell all the friends I play with to use these settings and our online play is perfectly fine with the occasional online hiccup because the netcode isn't that generous to my one friend with ass internet.

Anyone still feel like playing tonight?

I moved to a new place out in the sticks and the internet out here is kinda bad. Can't get above 3 bars anymore it seems like :\ PC seems to be slightly better than PS3 as usual but I still haven't seen a full bar match at all. I'd like to at least test it out and see if I can get a decent fix or if I need to start finding another local group for live matches...

Wow, OT5... I don't post too often, definitely not wall of shame material, but proud to have been a part of the SFIV and GAF FGC from the beginning.

This thread makes me sad though - I wish there were more UK peeps to play against online.

man, it seems like opponents just mash like crazy whenever I use Yun, Yang or Guy (and a lot of times, it works! FML)

If you looked my post from the last OT about me picking up Yun, I mentioned this as well. Just something about this character makes everybody I faced want to mash out instead of simply blocking. I must have had a 20% win rate against Ryu players for the first few weeks that I played Yun. And that was against everybody from the 3000pp Ryu player with more advance knowledge of the game to the 1,000pp Ryu player who simply beat me with neutral jump MK while looking for dive kicks or walk in attacks. It was down right infuriating because all I remembered about this character was how ridiculously dominant he was in the previous AE. Thankfully I'm a little better with him now and aren't completely free to every Ryu player I face now.

yeah, I hate the feeling of losing to player who I know I am much better than. I can only take 3 scrubby wins in a row from these people before I get pissed off and pick my fraud Cammy and make them pay. And good thing Guy hits hard too. I am starting to bait more, and not get too greedy with my series.

BV, i hate it when you taunt!! <3

Yo Rice-Eater

MK axe kick > MP is one frame, right?

Any tips on timing that bad boy?

Yeah, it's a 1 frame link. Since it's one of those awkward combos where you have to wait a bit to link the next move, you can't feel it out. The best way of landing it is to use audio and visual cues. When he does his MK axe kick he lets out a loud grunt, and the stomp also causes a cloud of smoke to appear. That's what you have to focus on. Wait for the smoke to disappear or for him to finish his grunt to hit your link. It's a very small window though, so you have to get it right after each ends.

I've been practicing this combo for 2 years now and I still have trouble. In the training mode I probably land it 80% of of the time. But when I'm playing matches against people and the pressure is on, my rate drops down to something like 50% because I get nervous and overanxious.

theculinary, I recognize that name. I believe we've ran into each other a lot in the past on PC. Welcome to GAF man.

I used to play alot on Xbox and recently picked up the game on sale on steam. Its been fun so far.

Are you "fail eater" on PC? I think I remember playing you too!

Hmm, maybe it was xbox instead. I use to play a lot on xbox. My main is Evil Ryu and my name was RiceEater483, now it's RiceEater828 because MS locked my account.

Any of that ring a bell?
