really? I found knee shot incredibly easy, and I use a square gate. Just practiced it for a bit and now it's cake. Making knee shot not down directly is pretty hilarious IMO...that makes his combo potential so much better :lol

I never sat in the training to perfect it, but in the spur of the moment it was always a toss-up if I got Knee Shot every time I wanted it because of the need of hitting perfectly down without thinking about it - atleast now I know that it's way easier in AE now.

AE is balanced to the point where any character is tournament viable. At least more than ever. There are going to be bad matchups here and there but it works both ways. I personally think it's funny that pretty much all the characters I use got nerfed. If it were up to me though I prefer more opportunities on offense but doing less damage.

well Kuroda is a legendary, reclusive beast who happens to be a master of characters that he seems to hardly even use so... no.

In the sense that they played a character that was overlooked by the majority of the playerbase, and discovered a lot of that character's tools, combos etc. Personally, I would say Kuroda was a master at 3rd strike while UltraDavid and WildCat are character specialists, not to discount their skills as players.

Well, character specialists.. I guess there are a few top players that play a wide variety of characters but I don't know exactly how high of a level they're being played at.

We did a list of who plays the most characters in ssf4 tournaments not too long ago. I wonder if anyones ever asked Kuroda about SF4?

What defines a game specialist? Do you have to be really good at just one game and not be heard from in any other game?

If so, how well-known was F. Champ for his MvC2 play? I hadn't heard of him at all before SFIV, but I didn't really pay attention before then. Were there other games he was really good at?

He's a monster with every character except Chun, who he doesn't use because she's god tier, and I think Yang, but I heard he started using him a little lately.

Seriously, he's a favorite to win anything with Q, Ken, Akuma, Ryu or Dudley. Those are probably his best characters, but he does some stupid crazy shit with Urien and Yun and pretty much anybody but Yang and Chun.

It's not even that Kuroda just has really solid fundamentals like Justin Wong, he has lots of tricks that are more or less unique to him with every character he uses. Really esoteric combos, too.

I don't think anyone's ever won anything with Twelve, though. C'mon 3rd Strike OE Remix :lol

No, Fei has always been really that good! It just took a prominent Japanese player maining him for people to finally realize it. Vanilla strat guide rated Fei as A tier, and we all laughed....but he turned out to be right.

Fei's Ultra 1 isn't as bad as people say, beats a lot of fireballs from farther than people think, and doubles his potential juggle damage off of flame kick FADC. Plus, Fei's Focus is godlike and full ultra is 490 damage.

Ultra 2 is really useful against people with divekicks and other telegraphed attacks.

I think there was a really good Twelve named Yamazaki out there, though I don't know if he won anything. Surprisingly, Twelve vs Chun is supposed to be pretty even.

If by pretty even you mean 3-7, yeah. Twelve's weird, though. Because he's in the air so much, his matchups are going to be different than most, even if they're pretty much all negative. His worst matchup by far is Elena. Just a bullshit matchup.

Just for reference, Twelve's average matchup is 3.5-6.5. AVERAGE. He only has 2 positive matchups, Hugo and Sean. Yay.

Yamazaki didn't win shit, though.

I personally think it isn't that bad. Chun really can't do much against IAD pressure, and can't d.mk xx super when Twelve is never on the ground. But yeah, Twelve is not a good character by any means.
