Why?! I knew they were gonna make a bad choice for coach, but ****! Lovie, come to Oakland, we'll give you your money! The Bears were on the fence about even letting you extend your contract. They show no respect! Some assistant coaches make more than you, for heaven's sake! We love the chocolate face here!

Spectral Glider said:Seriously. And they keep talking him up. Look at the facts, he's slid down every job since the 2nd title with the Giants. Pats to a loss in the Super Bowl, then he bolts on the team. Jets to a loss in the championship game, then he bolts. Cowboys to ZERO playoff wins, then he bolts. Seems to me it plays out like this, No LT, No Simms, No titles.

http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/16530050.htmReports of Donovan McNabb's discontent with the Eagles aren't just greatly exaggerated, they are entirely fabricated, according to coach Andy Reid and the quarterback's agent, Fletcher Smith.
"I think people are making a lot of things up here that aren't true," Reid said yesterday in a conference call from Mobile, Ala.
"None of it is true," said Smith, also in Mobile attending Senior Bowl workouts.
Since Reid canceled a McNabb news conference that had been scheduled for Friday, Internet and newspaper reports have said the quarterback is unhappy with the Eagles. One said McNabb was in "a squabble" with the team about his rehabilitation from the knee surgery that cut short his 2006 season.
A rumor reported on a football Web site said that McNabb was, at some point, behind in his rehab and that he blamed trainer Rick Burkholder. The Web site said, "There's a school of thought" that Reid canceled McNabb's press conference, in part, because of "concerns that McNabb would blab about the brouhaha."
The report also said veterans such as Jeremiah Trotter and Jon Runyan had expressed support for Jeff Garcia to remain the Eagles' quarterback next season.
A newspaper story Tuesday said McNabb was unhappy because Reid did not allow him to travel to New Orleans for the Eagles' NFC divisional playoff game against the Saints. The story also said McNabb "may be getting a vibe that some in the organization prefer Garcia over him" and didn't like the way the Philadelphia media portrayed his mother, Wilma, after she filed a blog that expressed concern about how fans would feel about her son if the Eagles won the Super Bowl with Garcia.
Reid already was on the record as saying McNabb is the Eagles' quarterback next season as long as he has fully recovered from his knee surgery. Garcia, of course, could leave via free agency.
The head coach said he had no regrets about canceling McNabb's news conference.
"That's how it works," he said in reference to the recent stories. "No, I don't feel any different. I just hate to see people have to make things up that really aren't true."
Reid said there was no need to remind McNabb that he had the support of the head coach and the organization.
"He knows what's the truth and what isn't the truth," Reid said.
"It was my choice and not Donovan's choice" to cancel the news conference, he added. "I'm disappointed people are making things up."
Smith trashed the recent stories.
"None of these stories quoted him," Smith said. "They're all quoting sources close to Donovan. They claim to know what he thinks and what he's feeling. Who are these people? I don't know. I think there should be some level of responsibility in getting his side of the story before printing some of this stuff. It's sensationalism, and I guess it sells newspapers."
Smith said he believed that McNabb would share his thoughts with reporters before or during the Super Bowl. McNabb is expected to attend the Super Bowl as part of a Campbell's Soup promotion. Smith said he hadn't spoken to McNabb since flying to Mobile, but he insisted that nothing that had been written was a true reflection of his client's feelings.
"I'm absolutely comfortable saying that," Smith said.

It's not the philly fans who I hate the most but the reporters. Rumors abound every offseason and plenty of crap will abound just to grab the attention. Iverson is gone and the rest of the teams suck. So, the biggest star in our universe is McNabb. I hate reporters 'giving all sides of the story' when they clearly don't know what they are talking about. Every story of the Eagles rebound this year should begin and end with our resurgent running game and the defense trying like hell not to lose their jobs. JGar had very little to do with our success besides not turning over the ball. The game he had the highest passing yards this year was against Carolina for 300+ yards. He never went over 250 yards at all this season. He had 4 games where he never went over 200 yards, including the playoff game against the Giants.
Currently, around the area, plenty of ignorant 'football' fans like to debate that JGar is a better than McNabb. I want to smack each and every one of them. Local sports reporters are worse than ESPN. But, ESPN is comprised of a few good journalists and plenty of crap they pick up from local markets. Woody Paige, J Mariotti? Skip Bayless? Crap.

He interviewed with ESPN radio in Dallas, and he seemed really interested in the Dallas job.
Mrbob said:I think Rivera will be a great fit for a head coach. He also trained under Jim Johnson in Philidelphia before become the Bears defensive coordinator. So he uses a really aggressive style of cover 2 defense and it has worked out very well the last couple years. Also, through various interviews, he does sound like he is ready to take the next step.

Unheralded Kurt Warner stepped in for the injured Trent Green and compiled the seventh-highest passer rating in NFL history to win NFL MVP. Presto. The Greatest Show on Turf was born, and the Rams went on to lead the NFL in points and yards gained for three consecutive seasons. Marshall Faulk had 1,381 rushing yards and 1,048 receiving yards. Isaac Bruce, Az Hakim and rookie Torry Holt combined for more than 2,600 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns. St. Louis' defense allowed the fewest rushing yards in the league, but it ranked a dubious 24th in passing yards allowed (in part because teams had to pass in playing from behind). The knock on this team was its easy schedule. It went 3-2 against teams .500 or better, and they played two close postseason games.

But i can feel you pain. Id be pissed also if i couldnt get it done with Steven Jackson, Torry Holt, Issac Bruce, and Bulger. By all accounts, that should be a top 3 offense. And id see why you'd want Dmac, cause you know he would actually make plays on that team.
Hell, JGar would make those plays.
But alas, your stuck with no arm bulger, and the self-concussing Gus Ferotte. Send us a 2nd rounder and we'll consider sending AJ Feely your way!
The Rams were a powerhouse for most of the '70s under Chuck Knox and had six straight seasons of 10 or more wins from '73 to '78, so it was a surprise this 9-7 team was the one that finally reached the Super Bowl (with the worst record ever for a Super Bowl team). The Rams led the NFL in interceptions thrown in '79, with four different QBs contributing. Pat Haden was the starting QB most of the season, but Vince Ferragamo had replaced an injured Haden by the playoffs. Despite leading a superior Steelers team heading into the fourth quarter, this team still gets the No. 80 ranking.

League MVP Rich Gannon played the best football of his career in leading the No. 2 offense in the league. Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Charlie Garner and Jerry Porter combined for 315 receptions and 3,770 receiving yards. The Raiders faced a difficult schedule, going 9-4 against teams .500 or better.
