Since Superman is for the most part invincible the game will fail you at a mission because you let the city get destroyed, not yourself. Superman will also have a stamina bar that limits the amount of moves he can do all at once though it replenishes when out of action like a Halo shield.

The boss battle they mention sounds good, too. :D
 
Superman with a Halo bar. That seems absolutely PERFECT for the about the ammount of power he has, given the sun constantly repowers him. If they put up some iconic visuals, and great gameplay interaction, this could be awesome. I want a wave of amazing comic book games like we've had for the movies. That's my wish this next gen.
 
Holy shit, first Superman game to make sense!

Hopefully this will be a great title and give Tiburon the leeway to branch out of Madden.

No, back in the 90's Tim Burton had a chance to do Superman and Nick Cage was casted but the project was dropped and Cage got paid dispite not filming it.

Superman and his rediculiously over powered self.

They went nuts for the films!! By the 4th film it just didn't make sense anymore. I mean "WTF" kind of power is it to rebuild things like the Wall of China with eyebeams, how can you even beat that?!
 
The first two Superman movies were classics, the rest blew. I wish they could have had a hotter Lois Lane though.

Thank goodness the Spider-Man flicks kept getting delayed because I think Raimi really has something good going. Tobey is perfect for the role IMO. He really bulked up good too for the role as well.

Oops, I should have been more specific. I used Madden as that all encompassing figure head for what Tiburon is mainly used for.

I hope they have the leeway to branch out of sports titles and possibly have more authority to dictate what they work on next. Hell I hope so; my teacher is getting a job there!

You seen photos of him when they aren't shooting/about to shoot? He tried to force the studio to get rid of him. You really think he had "back problems" from riding a horse in Seabiscuit? Yeah, I'm sure he is contractually obligated to be in shape in time for filiming, which is why he currently has a team of trainers working on his fatass.

Isn't Wilco the resident Spider-Man movie fanatic at this board? I'm sure he knows about it too.

Tobey was injured when filming Seabiscuit. That's a well known fact. You're just making shit up at this point.

And I don't really care what Wilco has to say about it, I have been following the movies well before the first one ever came out.

Um, no. Supes himself went back in time by flying really fucking fast. Donner chose to show it by having the Earth spin backwards.

Even though the idea of Superheroes is stupid to begin with, the idea that Superman could just "fly really fast" to make time reverse itself is even more stupid.

Eh, in for a penny, in for a pound. But he did not make time reverse itself. He traveled back in time. Swam upstream, so to speak.

Like I've said before though, that in itself brings up the question of why he couldn't catch both missiles and be back in front of Luthor before Luthor even finished telling him the set-up.
 
I actually know people who have actually been on the set of both flicks and worked in post production, and Tobey is not only a dick, but hates doing the Spider-Man flicks.

His battle with Sony over getting a bigger paycheck for the sequel is well documented and had he not reached a compromise, he would've been replaced by Kirsten Dunst's then love interest, Jake Gyllenhaal. Maguire himself said that his "reported" back problems were not the result of Seabiscuit whatsoever, and it's something that bothers him off and on. But that aching pain magically disappeared once he got a huge pay raise after he started having meetings with the producers, the studio and the insurance company.

And yes, Tobey Maguire did gain a shitload of weight (there are pictures and stories around about this), reportedly to get out of doing the most recent one, but I couldn't 100% confirm that or not. Considering his attitude towards the films, I would not be surprised if that was the case.

I am a little bit worried about Spider-Man 3, since there is very little leaking out of production and all I've heard if stuff from people I know working on effects, in addition to the recent reports of Sam Raimi's behavior drastically changing for the worse.

Well, I'm not going to say you are wrong or right Wilco, but unless we have some reputable source, it's still hearsay.

With that said, I will say that I too have heard hearsay about Tobey being a dick. Apparently, Treyarch isn't all that fond of him from what I have heard through the grapevine.

Regarding Zeos comment, that is and always will be Superman in my book. Reeve WAS Superman - as best as any actor could possibly be.

Live action Superman doesn't really work. Dean Cain was a great Clark Kent, but his Superman is just as cheesy as any of the others.

There's nothing hearsay about it. You can pull about about 40,000 interviews where Maguire, Dunst & Co. talk about replacing Maguire with Gyllenhaal, his problems with Sony and how he got a big pay raise. It doesn't take a brainiac to connect the dots.

And, again, I have personally spoken with people who worked on the set and for the production, so anybody in this town (that being Hollywood) will tell you the same thing. It's one of the benefits of living with and befriending people who do grunt jobs and specialist work, because everyone knows everyone and has worked on everything

Eh, he's gotten a lot of shit, including way back when he was on Wonder Boys. You can find countless quotes from people insinuating he's a prick. I was hoping he'd grow out of it, but what do you know.

I know his recent weight gain was blown out of proportion, but he was quite depressed about doing another Spidey flick and don't think Sony won't whip him into shape for production.

Wilco, if it's not hearsay, can you provide links to sites where I can read said proof of what you are claiming? (i.e. Tobey hated doing the Spider-Man flicks and that he wasn't really injured while doing the Seabiscuit movie). I've never read that he hates doing them and I have read from multiple sources that he was indeed injured during Seabiscuit.

Also, if what you are claiming is true, then both Tobey and Sam are sort of lying when they were doing the commentary for Spider-Man 2.

I think I will still consider it hearsay based on the fact that it clearly meets the definition of the word for me. I can't find a place to verify your claims. What you have is speculation. While it may or may not be true, I doubt it would hold up as a fact.
 
Spider-man is a billion dollar franchise, a higher pay check shouldn't be anything in the grand scheme of things considering how rare it is to have such a massive franchise other studios would kill for.
