Great first episode. Being 90 minutes long really helped to give almost everybody at least some screen time. Hopefully this season doesn't go downhill by episode 3/4 like the previous few have with people acting like jerks to get more confessionals.

The episode felt overly long to me, but I understand they needed to establish all three tribes. I don't really hate anyone yet which is good I guess.

I don't know if I've ever seen someone so comprehensively outwit and outplay themselves off Survivor like Zane.
Zane probably didn't have a bad strategy at first.
Until the point where he told the other 2 guys that he made an alliance with everyone.
And then telling the whole tribe to vote him out.
He's the type of guy who can't keep his mouth shut, likes to pat himself on the back, and then tell everyone how great he is for it. We all know somebody like that.
I'm really amazed though that people still show up on this show out of shape. I know that I would not even bother submitting a tape, unless I could easily do 100 push ups, 100 sit-ups, and run at least 2 miles in under 18 minutes without having to stop. And that's just a very basic fitness test. The challenges are just brutal and they get harder the farther you get in the game because of lack of food and water.

What the hell is this? Guess I'll echo the above user and ignore. Dang, didn't get a chance to post here last night, come here to see what everyone thought and already running into (possible?) spoilers. Oh well.
Oh, and I don't see it with RC. She's cute and all but no where near the top all time Survivor. And I know I'm still against returning players but dammit I love Penner. One of my favorite Survivors and his yell during the challenge was amazing.

Finally got a chance to watch the first episode and what the hell? Zane is seriously one of the dumbest people to play the game. There have been some dumber people, but at least they know enough to not tell people to vote them out. I loved how it would show Zane's conversations with someone and them just asking if he really wants to go home and then cut to Zane saying "He's begging me to stay".

I'm not sure I would qualify Zane as dumb. There's a difference between playing a dumb, risky strategy and just being outright dumb. Over the course of 24 previous seasons, I'm pretty sure there are some flat-out morons in there. At least Zane was trying to play the game, albeit in a weird and slightly moronic manner.
