Switch 2 Pre-Orders from Nintendo are only eligible to those with 12mo of NSO and 50hrs of playtime on Switch

They should've gone further with this shit. I've got like 5 years of NSO and 1000's of hours of gameplay across hundreds of games (including almost every first party game), me and others like me should be at the top of the list cause we're the whales who are gonna make them the most money, not buddy up there who played Mario Odyssey and peaced.

I actually really appreciate this. As someone who's given Nintendo literally… like around $10,000 im guessing since the GameCube era. And more money spent on them than ever during the Switch era due to higher prices. I absolutely believe someone like me who's spent so much money on Nintendo deserves something near the front of the line. Absolutely. About time they do something like this!

It's still very good and will cut out a lot of the competition/scalpers. I hope Sony do sometimes similar. 100 hours playtime plus 12 month's of premium.

At the risk of double posting, I finally found how to enter an address.

If you go to the home page and login a small bar should appear across the bottom with a red and white magnifying glass in the middle. It shows my Mii avatar on the right, then a shopping cart, the magnifying glass in middle, then heart to the left of the magnifying glass then a hamburger three dash symbol on the left. If you click your avatar on the bar, the words address book will appear. If you click there you can enter your address.

As far as payment methods, go to the same place but this time instead of clicking address book click account settings. From there scroll down to "funds and payment methods" which will let you enter a payment method.

Cheers!

Are you in the US? I haven't received any email yet.

I wish Sony did this for ps5 pro 30th but that would make too much sense. Glad to see Nintendo adopt this so hopefully going forward it will be common practice.

I have all that and haven't been selected. Twats.

But I support the idea of getting the console into genuine players hands.

Hrm.. so I let my membership lapse for a couple of months recently, but before that I had it for about 36 months straight - does that mean I won't qualify because it wasn't active the last 12 months straight..?

Just bagged one with MCW and an SD Express. Weird thing was - I must have over 50 hours logged and NSO but nothing yesterday, but got he invite today. Have they just rolled it out to anyone with NSO - or anyone at all now?

Incidentally, does anyone know when Nintendo take the money for pre-orders on their store? It didn't really say. Ah ignore - the Store says pay on dispatch. Cool.

Scalpers secretly employed by the big companies Nividia, Amd, Nintendo, Sony, Microsolf etc in some freemasonic bohemian grove type of meeting so that all these company could freely jack up the price and have the fans blame scalpers as the fall guy/boogyman.

Who cares. You're going to be able to get one, one way or another, so not like it matters.

Why did they delay Canadian pre orders, we don't have any tariff problems with Asia.
They don't want a situation where American scalpers and opportunists bombard the Canadian market and screw up their allocations and sales.

It would almost absolutely happen, though to what degree is hard to say.

Got an invite around lunchtime today in uk and put a preorder in for Mario kart bundle, GameCube controller, sad card and pro controller, honestly I was pretty pissed this morning when I saw that the site had been updated and you needed to be invited just to preorder a GameCube controller, I tried my email address in the validation but wasn't having it, went through every Nintendo online setting I could find and also the account pages of my.nintendo.com and every condition necessary I had set correctly and had been that way since NSO launched and consistently bought several switches off Nintendo uk official store alongside various preorder bundles of games across the years

Glad I got an invite in the end, it was very clear that it was only valid for the day it was sent (today) so if anyone misses that email today and sees it tomorrow then that invite opportunity is gone, bit harsh they don't even allow 24hours, would make a comment about Nintendo Germany perhaps being responsible for the strictness, but I think it's a WW thing, so be prepared to keep checking ur emails for invites

I got mine yesterday so i'm happy i got mine.

Now that preorders are starting this week, just bumping this thread to see if any of my North American bros have received email invites yet or if we're not expecting them until tomorrow / Thursday?

USA Preorders start April 23 9:00 PM PST (4/24 12:00 AM EST) from major retailers (Amazon, Best Buy, etc.). The eligibility from the OP is related to nintendo registration for S2 which will be given out on May 9.

Ah okay, I had missed the May 8th point. Carry on, everyone. This will be my backup plan if I fail online this week.

There has never been a UK round 2?

I am fully eligible but missed the first round because I hadn't allowed Nintendo spam two weeks before the announcement that it's required to preorder

I don't currently have an active NSO sub, but I've had multiple year subs in my switch's lifetime. It doesn't seem like I need an active current sub to get selected via this registration, but I'd hate to miss out because of it. I may resub to NSO for a year for just $20 to (possibly) up my chances at getting selected for preorder by Ninty.

Thankfully I can still pre-order from my local gaming stores.

I have put lot of hours on my Switch but never got NSO because I don't do multiplayer.

Why are the Nintendo store pre-orders happening AFTER the big retailers? They could have removed a huge number of people from the zerg rush that's going to unfold tomorrow.

Only one of two options will happen:

1.) I'll secure a preorder from a major retailer and then be offered a preorder from Nintendo which I will no longer need.

2 ) I'll fail to secure a preorder from a retailer because everything will sell out in a nanosecond, then I won't get the preorder email from Nintendo either.

Why are the Nintendo store pre-orders happening AFTER the big retailers?

Nintendo are giving the big retailers and the consumer base at large a chance to get their own pre-orders 1st.

THEN, if you, as a customer, were not fortunate enough to get a preorder from Bestbuy, Target, Gamestop, etc. Then you at least have one last, lottery based chance, at getting a Switch 2.

I think this makes sense for the most die-hards that try their best but ultimately can't compete with the online bots etc.

And if you DO happen to get your preorder through a major retailer (stock is supposed to be insanely high) AND Nintendo chooses you for an invite you can simply ignore the Nintendo invite and (hopefully) let another, less fortunate gamer have the chance to get it.

At least that's my interpretation of the situation.
