The pandemic was like heaven for games, Xbox Series X sold 3.5 million in the pandemic, everyrhing used to sell back then. And it had no backlash over its price and whatever Switch 2 is having
It was for playing games, not so much for making em....
Development delays, shipping delays, logistics issues, shortages etc. Sony and MS even being able to release both Series X and PS5 is pretty wild considering all that was going on during those launches.
So my comment is not talking about the act of playing a game during that time (I too was going HAM lol) its speaking about the real world industrial issues that plagued those launches. As in, demand existed, but many issues made that hard to meet based on what was going on during 2020.
A global chip shortage has led to long waits for the console with resellers demanding sky-high prices.

That chip shortage went on longer then that I thought actually, I thought it was just for 2020 and 2021, it seems it was going on a bit longer then I remember
So PS6 by default (if no wild pandemic happens then lord willing) will likely launch with record breaking units solely based on enough existing to to meet demand, it may have nothing to actually do with being better or worse then PS5, but more existing for such a record to be broken compared to 5 or something, so I'm sure many will take that into account when PS6 launches just the same.
