Switch 2 sells 3.5 million in 4 days

I wouldn't be surprised if he never comes back. Guy was taking premature victory laps when Sony was talking about buying Kadokawa for months. "PC bros will have to log into PsN and wait a year for FromSoft games" "Switch 2 will flop" etc.

Then the Kadokawa deal turned out to be a nothingburger, and the next A Team Miyazaki directed From game is a Switch 2 exclusive.
Sony cult is weird man, Switch 2 selling has nothing to do with PlayStation or the Sony ecosystem yet it eats them alive, what a weird bunch of people

Oh so none of them likes Nintendo games they just buy it because they are stupid?
LOL this is me. I haven't opened mine and don't really have plans to anytime soon. I bought because I have this addiction to day 1 consoles/(along with some other electronics) and can't help myself.
I do like Nintendo games though, and will eventually play it for sure.

If consumers continue to purchase the Switch 2 months on end at this rate, it'll be the best selling system ever after 7 months.

There is only one who knows if this is sustainable, and that is the spirit of gaming.

All this hatred towards Nintendo comes down to port begging....thats all there is to it.

They hoping if Nintendo fails they will release their games to other systems.
Tbh I used to be one of these people. Until the Switch I had no interest in buying Nintendo hardware but the games always seemed interesting, I wanted to play them on my PC or PlayStation.

Then the Switch happened. It was so interesting as hardware I had to get it, and I'm glad I did, it was more than worth the price of admission for Nintendo's lineup on it alone.

If you need something to play on Switch 2 after Mario Kart I highly recommend some recent Switch 1 games:

1. The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy
2. Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition

These games only recently came out on Switch 1 and they are excellent and you can play them right now on Switch 2. I think Hundred Line is a goty candidate but that's just me.

Due to BC there is already more on Switch 2 than I could ever play. I think anyone complaining should check out the Switch 1 library. It has the best library for any handheld console ever and it's not even close. It basically got a full gen of real 3rd party support and ports and also has some amazing PC/Switch games too like Triangle Strategy. If Switch was only a XBC player then I think it would still be worth it for me.

Another good thing about Switch 2 is you can use your Switch 1 pro controller. When I bought Switch 1 I had to buy 2 pro controllers which set me back like 140 bucks at the time(i remember they were expensive af but not the exact price). You don't have to upgrade to pro 2 controllers(they said in the other thread) you can just use switch 1 pro controller, so that actually makes Switch 2 almost as cheap as Switch 1 was for me, if not cheaper.

Xenoblade x is better than 3?

Think this is bad? Just wait until the Switch outsells the PS2.
Something something pandemic something something handheld all whist burying their heads in the sand when people say PS2 was purchased solely for dvds for a lot of owners.

Xenoblade x is better than 3?
Depends on what you want out of the game. You want to zone out and explore and do MMO like side quests but the story is bad, XCX is better for you. If you want a strong story full of emotion, twists, and an overall better complete package with "not as good" exploration, get XC3.

???

Switch is also just a "PC" then...but even worse than PS5.
There is literally no universe in which the Switch is anything like a PC

PS and Xbox have been just closed off PCs running proprietary OS's and API calls for at least a decade now. There is no comparison at all whatsoever, especially if you actually use a PC lol

No Switch 2 is definately not a "PC"

Consoles used to be custom designs that made every single one feel unqie.

Switch is a true console - it is a true custom designed ARM CPU + GPU that really does not exist anywhere else.

PS5 and Xbox are just low end general purpose PC parts that are packaged in a box. More like a Dell computer than a classic console

The Switch also is just a closed off box running a proprietary OS and API calls. Instead of being powered by a custom AMD design they got a customized Nvidia.

You guys need to stop evangalizing this thing. There is no magic happening. PS5 is a console. Switch 2 is a weaker console that is also portable. Neither of them are "personal computers" any more than an Apple TV is. The xbros may be desperate to re-classify every console as PC now, doesn't make it true.

Switch is a handheld that also plugs into the tv.

And everything with a processor/ram/storage is a computer.

"Yes, the Wii U did indeed sell out at launch. Nintendo reported that it sold over 400,000 Wii U consoles in its first week in the U.S. after its release. They also stated that the console was "effectively sold out at retail," meaning that as soon as stores replenished, they were immediately snapped up, according to Nintendo of America. "

Hmm sounds familiar. Again the ratio's are different but the gaming market was less back then. The point is Nintendo sold out as launch as well and the long term growth was pathetic. Get ready Nintendo boys because this is your time to shine but the masses will not buy thing thing. A year from now you will see I'm right. Call me your Messiah.

I'm glad you're safe, man. We've been worried about you.

The Switch doesn't compete with other consoles. It's finally beefed up enough to play PS4 games when the PS6 is ready to drop. 🤣
Unfortunately increasing power further before streamlining and shortening development time will kill so many studios. We thought lay offs were bad this gen, wait til it gets MORE expensive to make games.

The problem is how many 3rd party studios are developing Switch exclusive experiences? Seems most of the 3rd party games that release for it are games that have been in the bargin bin for almost a decade with a full price slapped on it.

Oh shit Gamer79 is back in action

Oh, people have definitely overseen a feature because for some reason MKW doesn't have it, but it can give Switch 1 a boost or prevent it from absolute drop in sales... and it's GameShare, I tested it with my wife's Switch Lite playing Fast Fusion and it's absurdly great, zero lag, or frame drops or whatever and it works great with Switch 1 consoles

And this is why reviews don't matter. All the whining and complaining and all the press about how Nintendo didn't send out review consoles or codes for Mario Kart until the day before the launch, none of that actually mattered at all. Not a single person was like "Fuck this, if I don't see a review score for Mario Kart World this morning on IGN before I go pickup my pre-order at Best Buy, I'm canceling". That's not a thing.

It didn't matter at all and 3.5 million Switch 2s sold in less than five days proved that. 30% more units sold than what Switch 1 sold (and for $150-$200 more!) in an entire month. And an $80 game with a friggin' 90% attach rate.

The fuck does that have to do with my comment?
Because you were talking about how all the power of consoles it takes years and money to create the game as if all these smaller games can come to Nintendo and I was saying that no one is really making top notch Switch exclusive experiences other than Nintendo themselves. Most all other games for that thing are games we played 10 years ago that you can buy for a couple bucks with a full price tag.

Bro you need to get with the times 3rd party exclusives are dead, the only reason why they exist on PlayStation is because Sony pays them or is it a total coincidence that Wu Kong was exclusive for exactly one year and FF16 was exclusive for exactly two years

Game "journalists" demonstrated their complete irrelevance and impotence with this launch since Nintendo basically told them to fuck off by not giving them any advance reviews access

This is a good thing. Gaming "journalism" is not needed anymore in 2025 and realistically all game publishers and studios could just stop sending out review copies of games if they didn't feel like they desperately needed paid positive reviews to generate sales, such as with Dragon Age The Failguard

This is the first Nintendo console my family didn't get at launch. Mario Kart just didn't sell us on it. But you can play Switch 1 games on it while you wait for Donkey Kong they say…..well, I say I can play my Switch 1 games on my Switch for free and Donkey Kong ain't selling me on it either.
