Switch 2 UK retailers already report sellouts

1 week to go...
It's so close…

Time flies!

Ordered mine from amazon on the 4th April when I got the invite and it said the 7th June since. I hope it's just an estimate and it will be here by the 5th, but I'm not complaining as I consider myself lucky to have one coming close to release

Mine said that before I cancelled it as I secured a pre order from Nintendo. I think Amazon have that to cover their asses. I'd expect it to still be delivered day 1.

And idiots on here think it'll flop 😆

Mario Kart 8 is one of the best selling games of all time and the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle is going to sell fucking millions.
No, idiots think that a Nintendo console generation is automatically successful based on its launch. Of course it was going to sell out — there are more than enough scalpers and Nintendo diehards to guarantee that. Nobody knows how it will perform long term.

It would take a monumental fuck up or shift in the market for this not to do 100m+

Yeah, 100M console sales is probably a given. I'm not sure though that the families that were buying 2-3 Switch 1 units per household are going to see the need to do the same at $450 a pop.

$450 really isn't all that much. The software is the stickler. I suspect the $80 tag will only be reserved for the super premium titles.

$450 isn't much for enthusiasts, it's a ton for a family in a down economy that would have to buy a couple of them to keep kids happy. The price increases for games and accessories make it deal breaker.

Lots of variables that Nintendo didn't have to account for last gen. They also won't have a Covid-like boon to make the device more lucrative for folks stuck at home.

Agreed somewhat, but this still goes over 100 million like I was saying.

Everything is so much more expensive than ten years ago. I think its a fair price in todays economy. Especially in the land of $10 eggs and $3000 GPU's

Indeed, $600+ if you want a game or two and a pro controller...

That is a look of dough for most people nowadays.

The high cost is why they are still supporting the Switch for the next couple of years. No kid needs to upgrade for Pokémon yet. But people with disposable income who bitch about how poor it runs online, can.

I just checked my Argos order and they took the payment on friday which I guess is a good sign, anyone had any update or dispatch email etc yet? I guess we should expect it any time now..

I have my preoder with Argos too, however the payment was taken back in April when I preordered. I don't think we'll get a dispatch email until it actually dispatches, which will most likely be Wednesday if its DPD.

hopefuly it is DPD, cause the other courier they use is absolutely tragic. They lost my PS5 Pro and it took almost 2 weeks to get the money back so I could buy another elsewhere.

Just got an email from Argos confirming that my Switch 2 is being prepared for delivery and I should get it on launch day. No details on what carrier it'll be but I'm assuming it'll be DPD. I hope it is.

I just got the same email, although for some reason it's blank and had to click view with images to go to the website.

And who has said, on here, that the switch 2 would "flop"? I've got to see this 👀
A lot of people actually, most citing the price. I don't agree, but it's there when you want to read it. I actually remember a lot of people here also predicting the og switch to flop, because "underpowered".

Anyone had any updates from Amazon yet? Mine still says 7th.
Mine is still the 7th also. When the regular wa in stock over the last few days, the delivery was showing as the 6th, then 7th, 6th, 7th. I guess they already got stock and I'm hopeful the dispatch on the 4th for delivery on the 5th.

Moved my BOTW order to Argos and used that £10 promo code on it. Cancelled Mario Kart World, I've got enough to be playing in the meantime so I might as well vote with my wallet and get it from Cex in a couple of months.
