Taco Bell's new "Mexican-style" Seasoned Rice will replace current Latin Rice recipe

LATIN, MATRIPEDICABUS, DO YOU SPEAK IT
Taco Bell Comes Up with New Recipes for Shredded Chicken, Rice

The new chicken should be more moist and features Mexican spices, tomato, onion, and garlic.

The new "Mexican-style" Seasoned Rice replaces Latin Rice on the menu and in various menu items. It is meant to be more flavorful and better complement the chain's other core ingredients. The rice is vegetarian-certified with a certified-vegan version to come by the end of summer.

Thank the taco gods. Latin rice is a plague that needs to be abolished ASAP. The single worst thing Chipotle has ever done to this nation.

what the hell is latin rice?

and who thought that was a good idea?

the idea of mexican rice makes my mouth water, but that's just because of the rice I got at good mexican restaurants.

Hmmmm. I LOVe The mini shredded chicken quesadilla. And the shredded chicken burrito.
Hopefully this makes them better and not worse

I can't remember the last burrito I ordered from there that had rice (the Quesarito?), but the rice in it was terrible. So this seems like a good move.

Lotsa Tex Mex places have tacos with Mexican fried rice. I've been to fusion restaurants who have tacos with jerk chicken fried rice and kimchi fried rice.
burritos with rice is one thing (that i still hate), but rice in tacos sounds like the absolute worst.

Yeah what the fuck lol. Love being in California and having legit Mexican food everywhere.
for real, love socal.

I remember when they got rid of the red rice, I was still working there. Cilantro rice was ass and a hop on the "fresco menu" stupid thing or whatever.

Can't judge until I get Dan Ryckert's opinion on this.

Burritos with no rice? Filth.

Um what?...

I bet you like pineapple on your pizza too!

Some of their best items have rice in it, like the quesarito.

It's a cheap space filler because beans are a more expensive addition. I don't want to double down on extra pointless carbs. I didn't think it was a weird opinion like people who enjoy pineapple on pizza.

considering a Bean, Cheese, and Rice burrito is like the bologna sandwich of Mexican food, I think you're crazy.

It's not, though. It's like if that bologna sandwich had oatmeal along with the meat, cheese, and bread.

On a tangential note, have any of you had their $1 grilled breakfast burritos? Pretty damn good for a dollar. Ask for them "Fresco style" if you don't like their melted nacho cheese that they put on every other food item there.

They have had this in my market for a couple of months. It's awful and made everything with rice in it worse. Cheesy bean and rice burritos are not my go to anymore :(
