Just finished, 50 hours exactly.
Overall I really enjoyed it. There were a few slow parts, but the story really comes into it's own about half way and onwards, and by the end of the game I grew to really like the characters a lot! Some of the scenes and such near the end are great, and throughout the whole game I guess. But yeah it's a bit of a slow start, so it's worth sticking with it.
Had battle on hard mode and faced some really tough bosses which was cool, but I managed to make it by without too much struggle.
I really wanted to finish this game so I could move onto VLR, but now I'm kind of sad it's over! I've always had a soft spot of JRPGs. Latest JRPG I played before this was Xenoblade (which is truly incredible).
One of the best things is the soundtrack. I love the music so much. I especially like the song called "Mirrors". It's a mellow version of the main theme, but it makes the melody sound so much better.
I noticed I have about 100 unseen skits!! I mean, I didn't go out of my way to do side quests, but that still seems like a lot. I hardly have any character titles either, so it seems I missed out on a lot of extra gameplay. Which is odd to me, as I talked to everyone :/ I don't know where all the side quests were hidden! lol
I have a save file before entering final area. Can I go back and do most of the stuff, or is most of it situational?
Anyway, this the second Tales game I've played. First was Symphonia, a long time ago (can hardly remember it tbh). I've heard Vesperia is really good, so I guess if I ever get a 360 one day I'll definitely check it out! If I like Symphonia and Abyss, what others would I like in the series?
