Hopefully not, but with it becoming available/un-available constantly...it's likely. :(

Thanks, appreciate your ebgames.ca updates. I got my order in, but I don't know if that actually means a damn thing with these guys.

...Should I have my amerifriend keep her preorder anyways? I might end up paying $200 for Tales at this point, for the first time lol.

You're very welcome!

I have a copy pre-ordered at Gamestop.com as well and am debating keeping it as well just in-case EBGames.ca [for whatever reason] don't pull through.

That being said, I've had all of my pre-orders fulfilled with them, so I'm thinking the same will happen here. I would really hate to get two copies [of a Limited Edition] when I really only want one. Not only that, I would pay additional charges for the import and it would deprive someone else of the copy I would receive from Gamestop.com. That would bother me.

I'll wait until it gets closer to launch and decide then. Maybe I'll contact EBGames.ca and ask them if my order is for sure. If they say yes, I guess I'll trust them.

Heh, well I'm a bit jaded since I got burned by amazon when I ordered Dark Souls from them. Got it hella late, and not even upgraded to the limited edition like they promised.

I don't want to think EBGames.ca is incompetent either, but when you look at how this LE preorder business coupled with their instore associates, it's hard to paint the picture any other way (plus it's Canada+video games). I'll probably have to make the call on whether to keep the american preorder up later though.

When TOX3 is annouced in 1 month in TOF, you guys still won't be playing TOX1 yet...
sad

The disconnect was already painful enough without this reminder lmao.

Honestly, late localizations don't really bother me because there's a ton of old games I'm only just now getting around to. I beat Wild Arms this weekend and I started on Devil Summoner Raidou 1 yesterday.

Came to post that it was available, glad some of us are sneaking our orders in. I will be keeping my gamestop.com order for now too just to make sure that there are no hiccups with ebgames.

Hi Canada-GAF:

Future Shop and Best Buy now have the collector's edition on pre-order. Whether they can be trusted to get it to you or not is always the question. As well as whether you prefer reward zone points or a big fat nothing.

I just pre-ordered mine in-store at Gamestop. I love getting my shit day-one without having to pay shipping.

Looks like due to strong response, NA gets the Limited Edition of ToX http://www.siliconera.com/2013/05/30/tales-of-xillia-limited-edition-announced-for-u-s/

Glad to hear this. This one comes with everything the CE has barring the Milla figure (which I don't even want) for 60 bucks, so looks like I'm switching to this one instead.

Sounds good. Thanks for the update

Gonna bold this because people will ask:

The limited edition of Tales of Xillia will come with the game, exclusive collectable character profile booklet, music CD and two DLC costumes. It will be limited to the game’s first-print run.

If you’ve already pre-ordered the game, you will be automatically upgraded to the limited edition of Tales of Xillia. The game will be released on August 6th in North America.

Unless I'm reading wrong, it seems like the book in the Limited Edition is 50 pages whereas the book in the Collector's Edition is 100 pages.

I do mention this in the OP

"The collectors edition states the artbook is 100 pages compared to the 50 page version listed for the D1 edition. I'm not sure if it is actually twice as large or just double counting pages (front and back sides) or something."

EDIT: The NA 'Limited' Editon does refer to it as a character profile booklet where the NA 'Collector's' Edition refers to it as The Art of Tales of Xillia

hopefully someone can confirm, I already preordered this CE and a figure alone isnt worth the extra money to me

What's the difference between the "Official Music CD" in the limited and the "Special Music Selection CD" in the CE?

Will the limited actually have more tracks compared to the CE?

Hm, wasn't aware of these differences. Regardless, it's nice of them to do this, and I hope the differences in the descriptions get cleared up.

Give me one second, I'll write up a post about what is confirmed for each version for each region (so 4 permutations)

...

I'm not a console guy. I would absolutely love for the Tales games (and Ni no Kuni, for good measure) to come out for PC as well, but there's not a snowball's chance in hell it'll happen. Namco, I am disappoint.

European Collector's Edition - £79.99
• The Game
• Exclusive 21.5 cm Milla Maxwell figurine (including base)
• 100 pages Artbook with original artworks from the dev team
• Tales of Xillia Original soundtrack of the game

I really don't like that they include a smaller artbook in the Day-1 edition and put a larger one in the CE. I don't want to spend that much, especially because I don't want that statue. But I would really like the larger artbook. 40pounds just for an artbook is a bit crazy. And they didn't even mention if both artbooks are the same size, although I think I read somewhere that the CE artbook would be DINA4 and the Day-1 artbook may just be 1/4th of that size. Strangely in a namco photo, both look the same.

Why not offer another edition just having the larger artbook - or maybe even sell that artbook separately.

Well theoretically, it wouldn't be much of a Collector's Edition if all you were doing was paying $40 for a statue.

Already plopped down for the CE, but it's cool to see that we're now getting the LE as well.

I would be somewhat disappointed if I didn't get those DLC costumes, though. Surprised they weren't offered as pre-order bonuses anywhere like those Graces f costumes were.

The email response I got back seems to indicate that the costumes are exclusive to the LE and the CE won't get them.

Kinda seems odd that Namdai would screw over those who paid for the more expensive version, though.

Well in UK you got the choice between 31pounds for day-1 (that's for how much I preordered it) and 80 (EIGHTY) pounds for the CE. That's quite silly. It's more than twice the price.

And they don't even exactly show what the difference(s) between the artbooks are (are they really different sizes and not just different page count? Is the CE one hardcover?). And like I said with such a price difference, just create anther one. Deus Ex:Human Revolution + Hitman Absolution did the same. One regular. One with artbook. And one with the same artbook + a statue.

Well at least for that huge price increase the UK CE seems to get the DLC.

What's even worse is that they would force me to buy it from their store in EURO currency. Which means I would actually pay 100EUR instead of "just" 80pounds (==93EUR).

And yet the European CE gets the DLC (but not the Day one)

Fantastic, more Namco nonsense lol...It's a shame though, I kind of like the DLC costumes they're offering this time around more than the ones from Graces f.

Since the figure is the part of the collector's edition I care about the least, Namco seems to be telling me to switch my pre-order to the LE and save $40.
