I have to admit, I'm enjoying this quite a bit more than Super Mario 3D World. I thought it would be the opposite, to be honest, but Tearaway feels so incredibly fresh and interesting.
Mario, as creative as it is, really is started to lose its luster in its current form for me. I'm actually disappointed in myself for not enjoying it more. :
Only when you use the right trigger. If you press the camera icon on the touchscreen it doesn't make the sound
Amazing! Awesome work.
gotta go fast!!!! (close enough)

Anyone on the digital ver still can't update past 1.00?
omg I threw a nut at a squirrel and he ate it. I love this game.
edit: I never want to stop riding this pig.
Hahaha, great stuff. Maybe add a spike on the head, and don't forget the trademark sneakers!
Man I really want this game but I have way too many I'm in the middle of already
Man, this game has me seriously intrigued. It looks so tangible and yet utterly surreal. I'm seriously considering picking up a Vita just to play it some day.
What other vita games should I consider when the time arrives? If it helps, platformers are my favorite genre, I'm a big fan of most of nintendo's output, but I also love indies, story-based games like AA and TWD, and action adventures in general. Basically anything except sports simulations, most open world games, and most AAA shooters.
Also, if you could describe the feeling this game gives you while playing in a few words, what would they be?
Okay so here 3 apples spawn
I accidentally dropped the 3rd one in one of the first ones. Now I don't see that apple anywhere dropped down , or respawn. I jumped off, still no apple. I restarted checkpoint, no apple again.
am i fucked?
This game makes me feel the way games like Mario did when I was a kid. There is just a joyful wonder and creativity that it has. In fact, when I finished the game the first thing I thought is that I want my kids to be able to play it one day and I am not even married! I also think it is the best looking game I have ever played on any system.
I recommend Gravity Daze, this game actually reminded me a lot of that. That game is my only other Vita Platinum. There are also many other great games like Persona 4, Uncharted, Sound Shapes, etc...
Not sure, but try shutting the game down and opening it up again. Just in case.
My GF just beat the game tonight. Wow. She doesn't play games at all really; Candy Crush is the extent of her gaming. I watched her and cheered her on right to the end, even if there were a few difficulty spikes she struggled with.
She mentioned that if I hadn't told her the end choked me up when I beat it, she might have cried when she got to the end.
Being honest, I think Tearaway was a great first hardcore, start-to-finish game for her to sink her teeth into. It's a gorgeous, whimsical experience, and I feel she really got that when she finished and said, "Now I get why you love games so much."
Gravity Rush is the EU/NA title, Gravity Daze is the Japanese title. It, before Tearaway, was my favorite PS Vita game. I hope that Gravity Rush 2 reclaims it... and then I hope they make a Tearaway 2 to take it back. And then Gravity Rush 3... etc. <3Thanks for the suggestions! Just saw a trailer for Gravity Daze (Gravity Rush?) and yeah it looks like something that would be right up my alley. In a strange way, my love affair with the wii u's feature set (touch screen, gyroscope, off-tv play, etc) are making me more and more interested in investing in a PS4-Vita combo once I get the funds.
Back on the topic of Tearaway, I see what you mean: the game just seems to have this wonderful melancholic mood to it. It evokes the feeling of being young but not too young; of being on the cusp of understanding something fundamental about the world, but having no clue what it is. Even the lighting evokes the feeling of a summer day, in a wooded area, when the sun is waning and the shadows are getting long on the ground and the sounds of night are creeping in all around you.
Game feels like summer camp -- and this is coming from a guy who never went to summer camp! Hope it sells well.
I also can relate with wanting to share games like this with my future kids. I feel the same way about the new Mario.

I want a Tearaway 2 so bad. I'll think positively. :3 With the reception it's gotten, it would make a lot of sense if they tried to do another. And with the engine done, they can make it longer by reusing some assets.
Playing the game is like being a kid again. Playing SMB for the first time, or Super Mario 64 (as much as that thread got trolled, he had a point on the impact it has on players so far).
Soul Sacrifice is awesome too. You should check it out. Oh, and Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery. It's an adorable puzzle adventure game like Professor Layton, with amazing art design, great voice acting and characters. It's indie, and I believe just $3! (it's also on mobile, but it runs flawless on PS Vita.. plus trophies~)
It's very well made in that regard. What do you think about the game technically? It's so clean and does seem to achieve its artstyle 100%. Is that because of its simplicty or lots of hidden and powerful complexity?
I bought this game but I can't play it, didn't know my face would keep popping up in the game. It ruins the beautiful game.
And it can capture your face at odd angles. Or you can accidentally cover up the lens with your thumb and so whatever they were going for is completely missed.Trust me, I really fought with that aspect. I think it's cute and creative, but at the same time I really, really can't stand seeing myself.
Yup. Frankly I'm stunned that they haven't built this in such a way - in fact I fully expect the next game to have more than a little in common with LBP.It'd be so great if they released an update that allowed us to share creations and costumes. Maybe they could tie them to the My Tearaway pages somehow.
Well, their focus was creating a game where we would want to create reworld things. (Papercraft)Yup. Frankly I'm stunned that they haven't built this in such a way - in fact I fully expect the next game to have more than a little in common with LBP.
No, and unless it's a 3G version that's kind of a rotten idea (and given that'd depend on an active 3G subscription it's still a rotten idea.) Just fine a 4 GB one for cheap, and given you're on Plus you'll probably want massive storage eventually.I am also a PS+ member, can I just save the game on cloud?

I bought the system and the game in that amazon cyberdeal. But now I wonder will be able to play the game without memory card? I am also a PS+ member, can I just save the game on cloud?
