Really enjoyed Ninja Gaiden 2 Black but have yet to play Ragebound.

M2 better be working on this one right now!(NES/SNES Collection)
The only games left that I need from my youth playable in modern consoles without piracy.

The music from the NES/SNES Trilogy is outstanding!

I would absolutely love some insight on the GameBoy & Game Gear games anyone played them? Natsume made GB one & Sega the GG one right?

I'm too bad for any of those games. Camera filtered me out of Black and I never got too far on the NES games.

Had a lot of fun with the NDS game tho.

NG Black only has arcade Ninja Gaiden game and it sucks. It is the original Xbox release that has the first three NES games.

P.S. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a remaster and is part of the Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection which released on every modern gaming platform.

Can second this! Such a great piece of extra content for NG 2004 & NG Black 2005.

Haven't played it on 3DS can anyone report if it's any better played in that system?
Its a very experimental DS game played exclusively with the stylus and swiping.

Tecmo seems to believe that Ninja Gaiden Ligma is the definitive version. I doubt they'll ever do anything with Black and after the slop that was 2 Black I dont think I want it.

But yes the lack of NES/SNES re-releases is annoying.

Ninja Gaiden Black and Sigma 1 have minute differences with many quality of life and graphics improvements in the latter. It is Sigma 2 that is a cuckoo. To quote myself:
I like hopping over enemies, beheading them and spamming the ultimates with Rachel.

I also love the new jump shot with the bow, better camera, and improved water running with Ryu. I always considered the tap A to keep water running and not being able to get out of water without something to grab onto lame in Black. The redesign of the airship lounge is also aesthetically pleasing. Only minor complaints I have are that most adventure items are removed, military area is opened up unceremoniously after reused boss battle, and ziggurat is reduced to a single room.

My favorite addition is all the wearable equipment you get by completing survival challenge areas in each chapter with different difficulties unlocking different items.

I don't recall how it works for 3DS... but ultimately the game can only understand digital inputs.

I would recommend trying it and seeing what you think.
I unfortunately sold it off…but I know Super Mario 64 DS felt like a much better game with the nub. Other than forcing the player to hold a button in order to keep Mario running.

Also, how is ragebound folks? What other indie games does it feel like? I've almost beaten both Blasphemous games, just wrapping up 2's dlc in between DK Bananza & Nine Sols.

I think this is totally subjective and varies person to person.

Don't expect miracles is what I am saying.

Forget Ninja Gaiden, it's getting 3 releases in 2025. Don't be greedy.

Tecmo, where the fuck is Fatal Frame?

To answer your question, Ninja Gaiden Shadow on game boy is one of the best games on the system. I can't speak for the game gear game though.

There's also a port of the NES game on Turbografx that I remember being pretty good.

You just need modern accessibility options. Ninja Gaiden on the NES is totally doable (and fun) with save states. It's not cheating to save your time and sanity.

More specifically that Crimson Butterfly remake.

I'm guessing more work is required for the PS2 games because they will be full blown remakes and not remasters like MoBW and MotLE.

I thought you were talking about the Wii Remake for FF2.

There's already a remake for that, FYI, in case you didn't know.

So far it's Wii exclusive.

This could be easily brought over to the new consoles just with a resolution and FPS increase.

No I didn't know that. Released just before the Wii U launched and no US version. Sounds like Nintendo from that era. Bet it sold like hot shit.

I want FF1 and FF3 remakes too.

We should be asking Tecmo were a LOT OF Ports, REMASTERS, HD2D, or new versions of their games are. Things like:

Ninja Gaiden
TECMO BOWL
Nioh
Fist fo the North Star

These titles are come to my mind, immediately.

The GG one is trash, i would avoid it like the plage. The Master System one on the other hand is a great game that it's somewhat of a underrated gem in the franchise

I used to really like Ninja Gaiden arcade back in the day. I don't remember it being that slow but it's been a long time. I used to like lining up the enemies and using that jump flip. Never played the Nes versions so don't know that the fuss is about them but it looks like something completely different from the arcade. Not a port.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black camera tip is max the sensitivity and just make use of the snap to your back function. Makes it buttery smooth.

Ninja Gaiden 1 though you're never going to win imo in the bad segments. The camera can feel like the final boss.

Appreciate the tip my man, but honestly I really don't like playing games with save states. Takes away a lot of the fun.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind if I ever get to play 2 (which I'd like to). First game filtered me quite soon, I think it was on the second stage where you fight some horsemen dude on a bridge. Should give it another try, was having fun until I hit that wall.

Well, the code for Ninja Gaiden Black is completely gone.

So for us to get a Black remaster, they'd have to recreate it while remastering NG.

It's baffling that Japan is so bad at code archival practices to the point that the code for many darling games straight up doesn't exist anymore.

No shame to put it on easy mode and just enjoy the ride the first time. The games are highly repayable so that as you increase difficulty it makes you a better player.

Gamers love NG1 a lot but NG2 is a much more approachable game in 2025 especially now with the "remake".
