I am on LCD Deck anyhow, so I will lock this puppy to 60fps and be happy about it.The demo did for me but Steam Deck HQ says in it's review it is best to limit fps to 60. Evidently there are spots in the game where it dips to 70fps.

I will get Ninja gaiden and the Shinobi demo for now and wait a couple days to see the reviews come out on Earthion. I am not a MAJOR shmumps fan, but I do like the occasional one.Unfortunately, shmups being the micro-genre it is, reviews take a while to come in. But it looks pretty good to me and I'm all about supporting the genre where I can.
If it wasn't for fucking work today and company this evening, I'd be juggling these three right now.
I just now got a notification that Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is available for purchase on the PlayStation Store and it has a 10% discount for PS+ members.
Its a bit cheaper on PS as well if you are subbed to Plus. Its pretty much half the price that one reviewer docked it for lol.
No, no ultrawide, just 16:9 with black side bars and no art or anything. In fact the only options I remember seeing were for fullacreen, vsync, and a crt filter.Ultrawide support on the Steam version by chance?
Man, since my Switch 2 has become my official indie/retro/pixel art machine/console, I really, REALLY hope that this will run at 60fps on the switch 2, I could always get it for my PS5 but...I'd rather the portability of the S2.
I really don't get how this is 30fps on the Switch when you have games like Ori and Cuphead running at 60, it boggles the mind...
Someone needs to help me understand how even the OG switch can't do 60fps here. How idiotic does a developer have to be to not only botch the framerate of the Switch 1 version, but not include a CAPPED 60 OPTION knowing the Switch 2 is out?!
I'm so sick of this kind of bullshit with the way devs treat consoles. Same with PS5 Pro and Switch 2- you fucking KNEW the better hardware was coming out, why wouldn't you nitwits include DRS AND/UNLOCKED FRAMERATES??
i can't be the only one who has had it up to here with these decisions
They must've botched something in the development. They already released Blasphemous 2 which ran perfectly at 60 and this looks very similar in terms of graphics.Someone needs to help me understand how even the OG switch can't do 60fps here.
I've played an hour of this game on my Steam Deck. It's butter smooth 60fps. LCD model here. It's a 16 bit title man. Period. It's GREAT. But no excuses hardware made past 2005 cant run it at full speed. None. They must've botched something in the development. They already released Blasphemous 2 which ran perfectly at 60 and this looks very similar in terms of graphics.
This reminds me of River City Girls 2. RCG1 ran perfectly at 60 then RCG2 comes out at 30 and was never fixed on Switch.
But back to my point what bothers me the most is even if they messed up with Switch 1 there was NO REASON they couldn't have gotten this running 60 for us Switch 2 owners ...all they had to do was unlock the fps and cap it to 60 ...it's pure incompetence and disregard for console owners (in this case Switch 2).
All games now should be releasing with DRS and unlocked fps, at least as an optional included mode, for future proofing when the next hardware upgrade or new gen comes out!
Theres no longer an excuse for consoles to be so far behind in back compat like this and its infutiating to see how many games are still stuck with low fps ans framerates for NO REASON.
Blame lies with Nintendo, MS, and Sony as well for not encouraging deva to future proof. I think they dont do it for future "paid upgrades" or remasters OR simply to keep console people dependent on them unlike PC where buying new hardware guarantees better settings.
I'm not even asking for PC like upgrades though ....simply DRS and unlocked FPS! Future proofing would make console gaming so much better! I hate this industry so much because of stuff like this.
I'm getting the messenger vibes, which had ninja gaiden vibes…

Would be really hard to live up to the NES tunes.Stage 1 down. Game is awesome. Not really like previous NG games but its absolutely a worthy addition. Everything is very well done.
Music is not amazing but I kind of expected that.
Well that is a bummer. Thanks for checking. No, no ultrawide, just 16:9 with black side bars and no art or anything. In fact the only options I remember seeing were for fullacreen, vsync, and a crt filter.
It was a black magic miracle that Streets of Rage 4 actually did that. I wasnt expecting it was possible.Would be really hard to live up to the NES tunes.
They will probably update it at some point but yeah, if you have a PC/PlayStation/Xbox get it there for now.i was looking forward to this since reveal as a obv switch 2 cop. Why the frames are capped at 30 i just cant fathom.. especially when shinobi runs at 60 with way better visuals...
Yeah I definitely noticed that. It's fun reacting quickly to enemies attacking from both sides, or doing the short jumps and the high jumps to perfectly intercept the hanging enemies and block shurikens. Those short jumps are similar to the NES games. They really nailed the retro-vibe, placing enemies exactly where they're hit ya when you jump.
Seriously, definitely enjoying this.
In the demo the hard mode had altered layout for the stages and enemies.I'm in act 3 and have to say that this game is pure fun. I'm concerned a little about the length but because this game has been sick I can see myself going back and getting rank s on all stages.
Music to my earsIn the demo the hard mode had altered layout for the stages and enemies.
Weird. On the pc there is vibration and CRT filter. Also other settings like hit flash toggle, game speed toggle etcLMAO, wtf, this doesn't have any kind of vibration/haptics ? looool, you have got to be fucking kidding me, how G'damn incompetent can these devs be ? 30fps on switch, no vibrations whatsoever for a hack n slasher, no CRT filters...
Yeah, they rushed this out of the door if you ask me.
PS : Shinobi demo is miles ahead when it comes to combat feeling (hit-stun/vibration/etc) and presentation wise.
