Doctors in India are baffled by a teenage boy who appears to have started having periods.

Tarak, from Kalna in West Bengal's Burdwan district, has reportedly been experiencing menstrual symptoms for a year.

The 15-year-old bleeds from his penis in the second week of every month, reports the Hindustan Times.

The youngster is also said to suffer from nausea, stomach ache and mood swings.

I saw a Discovery Health special on hermaphrodites and it's really disturbing what they do to them as babies. It's common medical practice to staple the penis to the belly and treat the baby as a girl.

Yeah, and when they come home from school and ask why the other girls in the changing rooms don't have staples in their belly, they just get sent to their room.

I don't think baby penises are that long...

And they normally just remove the organs that require least change for the baby... if it has a penis, they remove the uterus and ovaries if present and for a baby with a vagina and penis, it'd be upto the parents... blah blah blah

then some hormone therapy

and after all that, some haemaphrodites will later in their life decide that they're not really the gender that they've been living since the sex change, even if they haven't been told they were originally haemaphrodites.

But this kid obviously just has syphillis.

What I saw is that they sew or staple it upwards and it grows together with the skin there eventually. They did that to one person and raised that person as a girl. Come junior high she hit male puberty, started growing facial hair, and had a deeper voice. Not only that, but she looked like a man.

In "her" 20s she knew something was wrong so she did a bunch of research, talked to all of her old doctors, and found out she was a hermaphrodite. She made the change to being a man, married a lesbian, and had a kid. It was pretty awesome.
