TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Interesting. Thanks again.

Any links or tips on how to incorporate T7's new systems would be much appreciated. I'm running basic T6/TTT2 bnb combos. I keep seeing mention of tail spins. I'm not sure how they're used or even what moves lead to it etc (again, I'm lazy with practice mode).

And rage drives. Not even sure when to use them or why etc. I wish they came out with a guide =/.

Well, here's a list of changes from TTT2 to T7FR with Yoshi for starters.
https://youtu.be/EbFMnwwQ5Ik

Tailspins (S!):
Old moves now with S! properties:

2,1
2,3
F3
4,4,4 (last hit) [usually not used in combos, or at all really]
DF1,2 (any backfist really: F2 / WS1,2 / BT 2)
SS4 or KIN (Kincho stance or 1+2), 4
DGF (Dragonfly) 4

New moves with S! properties:

D+2,1
Thunder Sword (CD2, or f,n,d,df+2)
Rage Drive (RD or f,n,d,df+1+2)
DGF f+2

Other new mechanics:
Rage Art is b+1+2 (the old B+1+2 backsway to midpunch is gone)
Super Flash Rage Art is UB+1+4 (does a fancy version of flash, but opponent must strike his body for it to have effect). This Rage hart has Super Armor (it also mitigates damage by about 50%).
Rage Drive is F,N,D,DF+1+2 and is mostly used to extend combos. It grants an exception to the "1 Tailspin per combo" rule and allows for 2 tailspins.
For example, you could test it with:
DF2, F,N,D,DF+1+2 S!, dash, D2,1 S!, f+3+4 > Flea 2 for 70 damage

Power Crush:
Is now done with f+3+4. In NSS it's a simple knockdown. But in 1SS it transitions into Flea like normal, usually allowing for a second hit with FLEA 1+2 headbutt.

Crazy how far we've gone technically:

1496828378-tekken-6.png

1496828744-tekken-7.png

I like his face better in the earlier ones. But gonna be honest and say everything else it looks way better.

Any thoughts on Feng? As a new Tekken player, im doing my best with him so far.
Somebody already asked this question and got these replies.
Juggles are easy. Has lots of strong tools. I'd recommend him.

Feng is a good beginner character, he's very fundamental.

In fact, I'll list what are imo the best beginner characters.

Katarina
Leo
Paul
Feng
Shaheen
Lili
Lars

slightly harder, but only just:
Miguel
Bob
Josie

The TEKKEN team is actively working on improving the Tekken 7 game experience for everybody. This is currently our top priority and we appreciate your patience. We will be releasing a number of patches in the coming days:

June 7th: We’re releasing a patch for the PC version to improve security and update Denuvo. It’s important for us to note that this patch was developed concurrently and did not push back the patches addressing online issues (see below).

End of the week: a PlayStation 4 patch to address online stability including matchmaking issues, and bug fixes, will be released. We’ll have more detailed info to share soon about this patch.

Next week: a similar patch to the PS4 version will be released on PC and Xbox One to address online stability and bug fixes.

Stay tuned to our official channels for more info shortly, and as always, we’ll keep monitoring the situation and collecting your feedback about Tekken 7. Thank you for playing!
Good to hear. I feel demoralized after losing in tournaments. Now I can get bodied and learn more frequently.

Great to hear of the network patch coming this week. Looking forward to the patch which fixes Team Battle and Lei being left out of the game.

You know, I think I appreciate the one fight character story battles, but I wish there was a cutscene before and after to add more meat since they skimped on proper endings. Couldn't have been that hard to animate their bios.

I think three-battle character stories would be better, but yeah we need three parts to the story. One scene doesn't really tell a whole story. But I guess that's all they had time to finish.

I know this is not the right thread for this, but I don't know where to ask this. Like I already said my PS2 pad is not working properly. Now I found someone with the same problem: http://https://www.reddit.com/r/ps2/comments/41ba7m/face_buttons_on_dualshock_2_wont_respond_cut_my/. The bad thing is that they did not write if the solution proposed worked.

But still I am willing to try it, the problem is I have no idea which part of the pad I should scratch. So if someone would just point me in the right direction, that would be great, thanks.

Anyone else here is a long time Tekken player who just Plateau-ed at a certain level for years?

I went from clueless noob to a "aware" of the game ,but it seems like the next jump in ability is extremely difficult or may never happen.

The online quality doesnt give me hope either.

I'm already using that for G.Corp Helipad at Night. Fits perfectly.

The Arena stage is deserving of a real hype track, and this is the best one I could find.

I was using Authentic Sky for the Helipad, but realized that every track between Tekken 1 and 5 have extremely low volume, so I switched it to something else.

That's exactly how I feel.

This was me until I learned that the secret to high level Tekken is movement. Spending hours in training mode just not touching buttons or using only one button because of particular application. Learning how to Korean Backdash and how to do instant while standing.

Once you can master movement, evasion, and reading opponents, the offensive part of Tekken becomes easy.

I love Heihachi, he's my all-time favorite fighting game character, since back when I first saw him with that awesome coat in Tekken 3.
But going online with him, I feel like I have to work a lot harder than some of these newer characters that have super long strings and combos that can go on forever, while I'm just getting a shot or two in while I can, and blocking and backing up constantly. Just trying to get up from the ground feels like a pain sometimes, constantly getting spammed. I win a good amount of the time, but it feels like I'm doing something wrong. Any advice on what to do with Heihachi? I play backup with Bob but I really want to focus on Heister.

There's no really good advice for Heihachi. He's one of the hardest characters in Tekken, and being able to constantly pull his 2 1frames are a part of his gameplan. Just pick someone else, there's no easy solution for your issue, sorry.

Dont give up faith in your abilities. Generally speaking, it could be that you just have not clicked with the right character.

I've tried quite a few different characters overall in my Tekken history(law, Jun, eddy, hwoarang, Jin to name a few) and there was once a time where i thought i wouldn't get any better either. but then i found a character i was extremely comfortable with and i was able to polish my skills a lot further than i otherwise would have through multiple iterations

Managed to find a 20th anniversary SF IV TE fightstick with Sanwa switches for $75 off of craigslist. I'm in the process of completely relearning the game now, but damn, this stick feels so good!

edit - maybe it was because my stick is the 360 version, but Windows immediately recognized it as "Street Fighter IV TE Fightstick", and it worked natively with Steam. So yay.

Holy shit. I thought this series was pretty well balanced!? I knew there was a reason I haven't seen a single Heihachi player online yet! What are his two 1 frames?

Mind you, am an extreme beginner. The last Tekken I played was 3 which I played only button mashing.
So, since I have a couple days of, I practiced like crazy.

I started out playing Bryan Fury, for nostalgia reasons. His laugh is still awesome. My former best friend's dad used to beat us up using Bryan when we were 10 (That and using the mole in Bloody Roar). We thought he was a god. Looking back, we didn't even know how to block.

Then I played some Kazuya, for nostalgia again. I liked his electrics and low spins as a move. Liked he's character design. Wasn't aware of the whole family/dad/mom dynamic since reading up on the story today, lol.
Proved just as tricky to play in T7 as I remembered in 3, even with understanding the lingo and input syntax.

Then I went Leo. Somebody recommended him online. Really like him, except for his dumb ass intros/outros. Practiced the character a lot. I enjoy the flowing nature of his style. Played him for a while (10 hours maybe), got pretty good for my standard. Almost won a tournament which was huge for me.

Now I'm playing Asuka. Her d/b+4+4+4+4 catches about 80% of people my rank online. The combos I know are doable realiably. Like the b+3 into 2 or 4. Super solid f2. SS2 is nice.
A lot of ways to launch people.

Dope game!

TL:DR; Haven't played Tekken since 3, got a little better; some success online, awesome game

Marvel

could never
Tyty, will try.
Hitbox makes KBD, BDC, EWGF all super easy and trivial. Maybe that could be an option for you.
I literally just bought the ki te2 stick lol

First time stick user incoming, quite exciting. I hate xbox one's dpad with a passion.

This method is not as safe obviously, you are more vulnerable while back dashing. But this should let you get used to creating space quickly to make your opponent whiff.

So what's the deal with only one stage having floor break? Seems odd for a feature to only exist on one stage.

Yeah, it's a shame. Most of the walled stages have balcony breaks or wall breaks.

Forgotten Realm is my one of my favorite stages because of the multiple floor breaks. Really hope the new stages have floor breaks.

I think TTT2 had a total of 3 floor break stages.

Had a match where both my opponent playing Lucky Chloe and I on Katarina used our rage arts at the same time. I still won both rounds as Lucky Chloe's takes ages to get started proper. This game is sick.

I find it jarring that Lili speaks french but has an english voice actor for all her hit effects and grunts still, and eddy gordo's voice being his english vA but him speaking a different language with a deeper tone etc. :-S. They need to be consistent on this stuff. Lol.
