TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Did they ever do that thing for this game where you can easily search tournament level videos for characters and players?

No, there are no D tiers in the game

Isn't Gigas almost there? He's the only character I hear people say is not worth practicing right now.

He's probably the worst character in the game, this means he's like, C-tier. Tekken Tiers are really close.

Honestly, unless you're placing high in national tournaments, tier lists don't matter at all.

Anyone else find that floating ghost custom to be distracting? Sometimes it hovers around in a way that makes it hard to see what the other player is doing.

Looks like Harada admits that UE4 adds 3-4 frames of input lag.

That's the first time I've heard of this to be honest. Have other developers commentated on that kind of problem?

And wew my Jack is coming along smoothly but probably because I'm getting away with a lot of dumb things. Might have to pick up Paul on the side though because hitting someone four times while they have to hit me eight reminds me of Rog.

The talk I read made it seem like he relies too much on gimmicks that become easy to read later, especially in tournaments. Haven't played him or as him enough to tell, though.

His tracking at a distance is also decent and his gimmicks put you in a lot of 50/50 situations. He also has a lot of strings that are punishable but can be extended for a counterhit launch.
As far as I know he has the worst punishment in the game though.

I'm finally more comfortable with Asuka and started trying out other characters. I tried Lucky Chloe, Jin, and Xiaoyu and just kind messed around with them in practice mode. Lucky Chloe is out of the question though. I didn't like her. How much do I need to use wave dash lightning stuff mid combo with Jin? I was looking at his sample combos and tried to do them but fuck was it annoying. As for Xiaoyu, I'm just not sure where to start with her. She seems kinda complicated.

The game is more fun if you learn stuff organically. Don't let the combo videos and tutorials tell you what character how a character should be played. Have more fun. Also don't let your ambition take the fun out of the game.

Learn the move lists for a character that you like and then pick up some tips from the players you fight online through observation.

I encounter players all the time who can juggle your their ass off, but completely skip all the basics. You got to respect the process.

He has one of the best jab punishers in the game

If theres one thing you should immediately learn with every character to play online, it's your best punisher for a blocked hopkick, and your best launcher from a blocked sweep

I'm playing Xiaoyu as a beginner myself, and I adore her, to the point where I haven't even seriously tried anyone else yet. You can definitely play her without getting tangled up in complex play.

Coincidentally, I tried unranked mode for the second time last night and met my first Jin. He wasn't doing super crazy stuff either, and he felt good and strong (relative to me of course), so I think these are both great characters to play in more modest fashion. I even have the set online since I wanted to see how the PS4's recording and uploading features worked. Warning: noob game. Good players avert your gaze. :p

This is what I did with Asuka and it definitely made me know the character well. For some reason I was just feeling lost with Xiaoyu. Probably a bit overwhelmed by her two different stances and all the mixup options she has. I'll try looking up her bnb combos and work from there with her.

Yeah Jin seems really solid. The thing is though, those electrics are gonna drive me crazy. They're gonna drive me crazy because I'm gonna constantly go for the toughest electric combos like some of his last sample combos. I can't help it.

You're a glutton for punishment. Just don't delete the game this time!
Hey, I already reinstalled Killer Instinct. Guess my salt didn't last as long as I anticipated.

But I'm not playing RAAM again, I'm sick of that low-tier life.
Gonna learn Aganos.

Tekken's input delay has always been a touchy issue with Harada -- I know this from personal experience. :x

The fact that both Harada and Michael Murray dumpstered you on Twitter so quickly is not a good look, imo. There's no good way to go about admitting that they honked the input handling in that way, but that's not the way to do it.

Namco is never going to publicly admit they screwed up. They'll always shift the blame onto anything else or not comment on it.

Noodalls, I definitely appreciate all the effort you put into providing us all the information we have now about videogame's input delay. It's a shame Namco lashed out at you over this but if it wasn't for you they probably would have never even acknowledged it.

Now the question is whether that issue is exclusive to UE4 on PS4 or just more severe on it. Obviously the wired pad detail is confusing but we'll see what happens next patch and whether the input lag is brought in-line with XB1.

I play with a PS3 stick on my PS4 and have always wondered the possibility of a sly input delay because these sticks are not native supported but trough a driver.

I mean why would they? It's not like casual players will know what's up. Blaming "wired pads" instead of optimization is fine for me as long as they fix it :p

Just had a promo match, won it, got promoted only for the game to bug out and not recognize my win/promotion. Made me pretty salty tbh

I saw Katharina's ridiculous design, heard some tracks from the ost...and insta bought the game. Am I a Bad Person?

The game sure is destroying me, lol. Boy do I suck at this.

Friend came over again last night. Brought his laptop so I could help him set up his game and controller (Getting a ps3 controller working on PC is still a pain in the ass)

We tested out an online match against each other. It is extremely cool to see the camera mirroring feature side by side! I like to think that team battle, survival mode, recorded replays, and tutorial mode were all sacrificed just for this cool feature lol

I think with enough complaints to Harada they'll patch in replays.

I hope, anyway.

Struggling to get into this game.
Have always been a Chang fan since the very first Tekken and none of these characters are doing it for me. I know Leo has a similar fighting style but the way that Leo is played is way different than Julia or Michelle.
I've always had Lee as a secondary, but he feels dull without bound. I guess I'll just have to wait until Michelle or Julia become available as DLC.

Lol

Made it to Mentor rank!

Finally going positive in wins for now.

Learning my spacing and counter hit options has been nice. Claudio's teaching me patience as a lot of his counter hits require WS 1 to keep the combo going, and I tend to mash out WS1, 1 and ruin it lol. But when I get it...

Sat alone in a boggy marsh
Are there any other cahracters supposed to be added apart from the two from the season pass?

as much as i would love Kiryu to be added, would like some classic characters to come back like the changs and kunimitsu?
