TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Thanks Dereck for that epic explanation. lol.

Kinda sad no one picked Lee in the tournament, at least no one on stream.

They really hosed him over in T7, huh? =/

Oh and latest patch actually nerfed his F+3+4 >_>

The only tournament going Lee player I know dropped him for Shaheen, saying 'Lee is completely pointless in Tekken 7'

convinced another one of my friends to buy this game

I asked him what character he plans to play. He answered Kazuya :\

Great, now i gotta deal with DORYA obsessed people IRL really soon lol

OTOH you'll get to beat him hundreds of times in a row as he struggles to learn that one move rather than working on fundamentals :/

He's so bad. So many unecessary nerfs. Why play Lee when Law & Shaheen do everything better?

Yeah I tried to make him work, but it's such an uphill battle... I was starting to think I was doing something wrong :(

It's not you dude. I'm not even entertaining the idea of playing Lee right now. He's too much work for nothing.

Is Lee any good I have never seen him used at fighting game tournaments to my recollection. Although I'm not trying to be pro so its not a factor in me using a character. I just wonder why don't I see him at fighting tournaments?

He's console exclusive and wasn't available in most of the builds that have been played on before the release of the game, plus he isn't good.

That being said, I think that T7 Lee is one of the coolest looking characters in the game and outright best looking Lee ever, he's on top of my list of characters that I want to learn.

Yeah, really sold me on her character. She's hilarious.

She's in Jack's episode too so do that one as well.

Thanks for the heads up. I might even try to learn her. I tried her a bit a while ago but I wasn't feeling her. I'm more motivated now though.

All this bad talk of Lee is depressing though. I really like his design so he was another character I was interested in trying out.

I literally cannot fight against Josie.

If I stand there and block, I eat 100 lows or get thrown.

If I try to hit her, I eat a counter hit and get juggled.

As a first time Tekken player I main Lee becaus he's fucking cool, I've been stuck at Mentor-Initiate with him for like a week and a half though. Definitely hard, but rewarding.

Maybe I should play someone else for now though...I mean I can do 85 damage with a Hwoarang combo I made up in 10 minutes...Maybe I can do that with Lee with proper b+2 timing and a wall combo.

I don't think he's that bad that though I'm just new and scrubby. Really when I succeed with him it's of Mist Step/HMS mind games and in that area I feel like there is much more to learn...Hmmm what to do...Certainly not easy to do his wall carry online...Should I keep playing him?

Also how do you do his non-mist step slide? That's the only input in the game I haven't been able to do.

It's the same command as Law's and Shaheen's, FC df,d,df+3

I hate it. My strategy is to get going before she does. Most dont know how to handle pressure since theyre always the ones applying it.

Also just take the lows. Only press buttons when her string ends with the mid kick or backwards elbow.

You should always play the character you enjoy the most :)

Ya I really hate Alisas online. Atleast Leo's WS4 works wonders against the ones that like to spam her hopkick.

Is that **** the safest juggle starter in the game?

I've literally lost four straight matches against two different Alisas doing the same stuff. The second match I think I hit her TWICE.

Yep fought it myself. They were King, reversed every hit, ducked every throw, rolling death cradled me mercilessly. I even lost a rank to it. I wasn't mad though, more impressed with the bot as I was trying to figure out how to circumvent it's shenanigans. At one point it did a super human wave dash over and over and over and we danced around.

Looked up the code on github afterwards to see how it worked.

Uh, you're doing something wrong or we're talking about the wrong move. Leo's WS4 is i11 and punishes it every time.

Maybe. If I ever stop raging, I'll play another.

We only have one adapter for the DS4 controllers, and my son is playing Overwatch upstairs and his controller is dying. That's all the Tekken for me for now.

So much Lee talk. :')

Keep the dream alive fellas!

If they fix him I'll play him again but as a competitive player I can't waste my time.

I had this talk with Michael Murrey & he was convinced Lee was a super strong character(not even close) in Tag 2. That's probably why they nerfed him so much.

The fact they freakin retooled his d4444 & still left d+4 -14 on hit blows my mind. A low that does 7 damage & is launch pubishable on hit. Yay.

There really isn't. If only there were video guides this simple and comprehensive for every character.

The amount of editing required to get a 2-minute video done for every character...phew.

I realized that I *NEVER* see Josies do that elbow uppercut out of her dash. ALWAYS low kick that is unseeable. I'd stay ducking against a Josie who is half-screen away, but I know she has a straightforward kick that reminds me of Kaz's f+3.

Good gracious, all those mixups in video 1 is where I struggle epically. Also, I don't recall seeing the long uppercut launch she has in any of those vids.

I have this thing where I fucking hate spectating. It's such an awful feeling to be forced to sit back and watch after I lose a match. The first thing I wanna do is try again right away and get my revenge. Because of that I leave rooms often or prefer two person rooms. Tournaments are the worst because you can't even leave them.

Yep, I only really mess with 1v1 lobbies in FG's tbh.

If the Tekken team ever fixes all the most important qol issues and have time to add additional online features, free for all lobbies like in BB/GG should be at the top of the list.

It also sucks that they scrapped the regional lobbies they had in TTT2. They could have taken the criticisms against it and made it a lot better instead of just giving up. Same with the Tekken Bot tutorials.

BB and GG have such excellent lobbies and player rooms. Every fighting game coming out should have free-for-all lobbies like that.

So I've just purchased this (pro) and noticed the game levels & characters look grainy. Is that normal?

Yeah, grain and CA are really bad in this game. On PC if you don't manually adjust the post processing levels on ultra it looks terrible.

I mean the online experience for this game is pretty ass, so not necessarily. I still can't do lobbies with my friend and the game has been out for a month.

So if the game starts lagging out of nowhere on match point, that's not a fucking coincidence right?

I used to think it was until I scored a perfect on a guy in that environment and he pulled the plug. I think it's particularly bad atm around green ranks.

Eh. It's suspect as hell, but not guaranteed fuckery. Could just be someone in your opponent's home started watching netflix and it choked their line.

But it's probably fuckery.

A bit ago I did up some "Top 10 Moves" for some characters. Idea being these are moves to focus on in the bigger movelists. The picks based off a bit of personal choice from my own playing, and from pro players who are way better than me. I go over the hows/whys of the move as well as listing all the pertinent frame data.
