TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

I realized that I *NEVER* see Josies do that elbow uppercut out of her dash. ALWAYS low kick that is unseeable. I'd stay ducking against a Josie who is half-screen away, but I know she has a straightforward kick that reminds me of Kaz's f+3.

Good gracious, all those mixups in video 1 is where I struggle epically. Also, I don't recall seeing the long uppercut launch she has in any of those vids.

Probably because it's her worst and most telegraphed move out of the dash. It's really only good for whiff punishing because you get a nice 70 damage combo if you hit it. I prefer to just do a 4 out of the dash though, if I see the opponent is pressing buttons after the 1,2,4 and doesn't respect the +21 frames you have on hit then it will be counter hit city all day. It's also +11 on block so keep that in mind. Good players will duck the 4 and launch you and that's where Josie players need to start doing a 1,2,3 string to hit the crouchers and keep them guessing which string will come out.

Players need to stop worrying about the lows, she can't do anything off a normal low hit so take the hit and move on. Why guess and risk getting hit for massive damage when you can just take a little 10-15 damage hit and move to the next moment. The 3 after 1,2,4 is also very easy to see, you can see it in time to do a low parry so I would suggest doing that, you can beat it with a jab but then you are guessing and they might throw out a 1 or 2 and counter hit you. So my advice is just block and stop pushing buttons, it the low 3 hits then you take a tiny amount of damage, once you get use to seeing the animation you can low parry the 3 for a nice combo and that's when they need to start using other moves which can all be ducked high.

Bad Josie players do this crap over and over and for some reason it works because people are very impatient in the game.

Also be on the lookout for a grabs straight out of 1,2,4 once the stance is cancelled that can catch people who might think something else is coming out and instead get grabbed.

So with all the Josie talk, is it just me or Josie doesn't have a guaranteed WS launcher aside from hopkick? I tried WS2,1 -> Dash -> d 3,4 but it doesnt pick up the target. Aside from this I feel that Josie is a low execution character and I'm loving her play style.

You have to microdash before the d3,4 except on big body characters.

It's tough and i can't do it consistently either, especially online. As an alternative, you can do d+3+4 for 38 damage. Impossible to drop that.

I just need to win one more special match to get the platinum trophy, but the game is being an asshole. Last night I went 50 straight wins without a special match. I finally lost and went to sleep.

Are you playing Treasure Battle for the Kazumi / Akuma ones?

Pretty sure arcade mode will count for those.

Don't you have to do them in Treasure Battle? I've beaten both Kazuya and Kazumi in Treasure Battle so far. I've also beaten Akuma in arcade which would make three but still no trophy. I'm assuming it just has to be done in Treasure Battle.

I got my Akuma one from arcade mode, that I know.

But it was the after Heihachi battle, not like standard Akuma during the normal rounds.

Time to make her cry even more now :3

HOOOO LEEEE ****

I'm gonna have to spend a LOT of time in practice mode to even recognize the difference in all of that.

There really isn't. If only there were video guides this simple and comprehensive for every character.

This is gold, cheers

Cheers guys.

Josie is highly annoying to fight right now but I'm kinda figuring her out, fight after fight.

I think that is why o freeze and keep eating lows then panic.

Thanks.

I swear the difference between Tekken and SF players in terms of win quitting is massive. Close 3-2 match and people still win quit just to get higher in rank, and lose to people much better than they are.

Feng can suck seven dicks in a row. God damn him.

Feng is shit. He needs to swap tier placements with Lee. Feng is not Excellent.

Finally get a tournament win and that fucking trophy on Loser's Final. Communication error at Grand Finals. Sigh. Harada pls.

Tournaments are junk in this game. It's a fucking joke that the prize pool decreases as people lose and decide to quit out or dashboard. They should have fixed this already.

Nothing relevant, but new Doomfists skin reminds me of Jack so much. Kinda feels like a small crossover between two of my favorite games. Pretty neat.

I HIT BRAWLER RANK!

Then like and idiot I decided to keep playing.

Went 2-4 and dropped back down to Grand Master lol.

Oh well, I know I can reach it now.

Anyone up for a few matches on steam ? Im from Texas

Hadn't the chance to play for the past few days. I turned it on this morning before leaving to warm up my EWGFs to get ready for my friend bugging me to teach him Kazuya 101 but that's it.

For players having hard time fighting against Josie, a Japanese player Josie_Rizal_Bot made few short anti videos. He included some quick english subtitles, pause video often.

Anti Josie method 01 SWITCH STANCE

Anti Josie method02 Slide in

Anti Josie method 03 Punishments

There's nothing better on yt at the moment.

I remember watching this before T7 dropped, I was cursing this person [internally] with all of my might. :lol

I need to get back in on this now that I've returned from my vacation. I'm gonna be sooooo rusty.

Ling is life. And why the hell are you not poking with her d/f + 1? It transitions into RDS. Ling is pure mix ups. I don't think she's the right one for you Phoenix. Time to move on.

Edit: In fact, I'm going to do YOU a favor.

Read up!

This is from Mad Axes over on the TZ forums. Read it. Learn it. Live it.

We need to get some matches going soon!

Congrats.

I keep getting to Vanguard and then dropping back down to Brawler.

I've done it 4 times now. Game is getting boring I've been playing so much.

I feel like everyone is getting better than me and I'm getting worse. Played for five hours straight and lost three ranks in the process.

I think dropping down to fight against Grand Masters is teaching me bad play.

Playing endlessly treasure and still can't get last set of pants for Kazuya. SMH.

Btw I got special juggle battle in treasure once, only once. Why is it so rare?

I got my first one after learning some of Jin's longer juggle combos. My assumption is that the game keeps watch for how much aerial damage you're dishing out on average and uses that to determine whether you're ready for a juggle match.

I think you unlock everything once you've done 2000 fights total anyway. Perhaps better to just aim for that.
I want one of Ling's dresses. Thought about just aiming for 2.000 matches, but I barely cracked 1.000 matches after 70 hours :/
And Treasure Battle only gives me head gear for characters I don't play...

Everything except Eliza, right?

So i've heard, yeah. So i've grinded out the Eliza items in treasure battle and now slowly heading toward the 2000 mark.

We need to play more then, obviously~

The amount of editing required to get a 2-minute video done for every character...phew.

I take this back. Played Against Jose yesterday who literally did that low kick move something like six times in a row.

I ate them all as I was told.

I tried to duck the last one and she did elbow and I died. First time I've seen a Josie do the elbow.

Oh my--- this game is quite awesome. Just been screwing offline in Treasure Battle building up my confidence a little before hopping online. Only 7 hrs played so far (first beat singloe player then labbed quite a bit with Master Raven & Asuka waifus)

3D movement makes such a huge difference. And I love how there is no 'zoning' like Injustice 2 (I still love IJ2 mind you-- but loving how this game is completely different)

Only rough edges is QoL features like frame data (ingame) & movesets for my characters. Plus no tutorials wtf haha

But my God I am slowly falling for this game more and more. Watched some of the material you guys recommended (basic tuts). Guess I'll just have to hop online maybe I'll do a tiny bit better then I expect.
