I feel like I do better in this game when I play like a chimp. Do more, think less kind of gameplay. Got to the lower green ranks awhile back with Eliza. I did nothing but spam fireball, mash DP during blockstring, meaty F>F 1+2 and random command glide and its follow ups.

Those were the first games ever I got to use Mig's sabaki in a real match. I was pretty hyped!

Your profile says you're in chicago. A chicago to houston connection that was 4bars most of the time and occasionally dipped to 3bars is pretty cool :)

And yea that sabaki is one of the things im stealing lol.

Whew. After a really rough couple weeks where I stagnated and hit the ceiling with every character I play, I managed to buckle down after taking a break from the game for a bit and grind my Miguel and Shaheen into yellow ranks. After getting five different characters up to vanguard at some point and just not being able to get over the hump, I can breathe easy for a bit. Even if I immediately lose the ranks I know I can get there now, and that's a weight off my shoulders. That I managed it with Miguel, who is the cat I really want to make work is icing on the cake.

I know no one really cares but I just needed to get that off my chest, sorry. Tekken is a stressful ass game.

Why does Lucky Chloe do SO MUCH DAMAGE?

Because setting it up is hard as shit once people have seen her shenanigans a few times. Exposure to the character lessens her tool kit a lot.

You think she does a lot check out Akuma. That guy is a comeback machine. Claudio also does a lot for nothing at all.

Edit: My own question for Josie/Frame Data monsters.

1 2 4 is +11 for her. Which ends on an opportunity for her to cancel it into 1 2 3 or 4 to mix things up. My question is if I just do 1 2 4, and don't cancel, it is plus +11, so if I pick after say a forward 3 knee, is that going to give me a good chance to land the CH? Or should I be trying to fish with a UF 3 or DF 2 thanks to the plus 11 ?

Or is it that you only get the +11 IF you are going to cancel it into the 1 2 3 or 4 options, and in which case what are people picking and when? 3 as the cancel is great since it is low and if they mistime an attack they will eat a full combo. 4 is great to mix up if they catch onto the low and are parrying so that you can mid hit them away. 1 and 2 are the ones I am unsure of why to use them.

Josies strings that put her in that stance only allow you to use the predetermined attacks from it.

The 1 is an uninterruptible high, that launches on CH. It's the only option that cannot be interrupted, but obviously it can be ducked. If someone is mashing, this is what you use.

The 2 is a safe on block mid that launches on CH. Use this if the opponent is trying to duck the high or block the low. This mid also tracks better than the 4.

The 3 is a low. Use this if they are just standing there doing nothing. Not much damage and leaves you at slight disadvantage on hit, so most people will just stand there and let you harass them with this. Also a homing move and CH launcher.

The 4 is also a mid, but unlike 2 this one wall splats.

Failed to mention her dash in cancel with f. With that you can do a few extra things out of the stance, but at that point you're getting really greedy hoping the opponent has frozen up.

I'm confused, what is wrong with match making? I get matches ever 30 seconds and I barely play online.

You're one of the few lucky ones i wait for over ten minutes to get connected to another player and not get connection lost message, and most likely the majority of players on ps4 suffer the same problem, because when i get one one game my opponent will keep on rematching and rematching.. one of the times we played 25 games, which tells me the other guy was as desperate and he couldn't believe that he finally got connected to someone to play with lol.

I rarely have to wait more than 30 seconds for a match. Normally it's 5-20 seconds of waiting. It's insanely good since the newest patch came out.

ranked play works great for me too, i'm in finland, europe servers.

always put the "all ranks, connection quality 3 or better" to the filter and have no problems getting consistent games on.

Same for me, about 5-30 seconds to get a match. The occasional 'connection was lost' but those are exceptions.

I also always rematch people unless the connection is trash. I like longer sets.

Dammit now it seems the problem is on my end :( any of you guys is in North America?

No, EU here. It's probably not on your end though, this PS4 matchmaking thing appears to have some hidden depths.

For example, SF5 for me is (still) like Tekken is for you: 15-30 minutes between matches, lots of drops, laggy teleporty connections even with friends that i get solid ones with in other games. Part of the reason why i dropped that game.

Namco's supposedly going to put out a bunch more patches, so i hope they fix it for you. =/

I tried to look up for some anti-Steve guide and couldn't find any on YouTube. I just lost to this spamming Steve player where I was determined to defeat (rematched him 12 times) and lost all 12 times. I just can't figure out how to play against him as anything I do I get CH launched by him... If I block then he does the annoying low punches which if I low block he just pokes me to death with mid strings.

Im using Josie and Akuma btw.

Akuma and Claudio give me zero problems and I fight them every chance I get. Just need to avoid Claudio's genocide cutter and his low kick that counters on CH. Against Akuma, all that hurts me is his seemingly instant leg sweep.

That scissor kick Chloe combo is obscene.

Holy crap I have no chance against Josie. When is it ever safe to hit her?

My girlfriend and I want to do a Tekken 7 cosplay for a convention. She settled on Lucky Chloe relatively easily, but I am having trouble finding male cosplay outfits that aren't Jin or Kazuya. I'd do KING, but that's too furry for her. 8|

Do King's T2 version with the blue dress shirt, tie, and white slacks. Would be so dope. You wouldn't have to deal with the tail in that case, which I'm assuming that is what is putting her off... cause a Jaguar mask is lit af.

But she'll have a tail, cat paws, and cat ears

LOL true

EDIT: Tekken stream is UP!

What is the definite way to turn off the film rain and chromatic aberration on PC? I see a few different methods that use .ini files.

Pound some protein and go as Gigas

There are tons of canned mixup strings in Tekken, and you simply have to guess. Usually though, if you guess right you get something beefy like a launcher, but it depends.

For Josie's Switch stance, it's best to wait and see what your opponent is using the most and try to counter it specifically. Are they using a lot of SWS 1? Make a read and duck. SWS 3? Low parry for max reward, crouch block/punish for small reward, jab interrupt for minimal reward. Is your back against the wall? Perhaps anticipate a SWS 4 and sidestep it.

Awareness is key if you want high reward, but there's nothing wrong with simply blocking. You're at advantage after blocking every option, and you're at advantage even if you get hit by the low. Nothing to be afraid of.

A good Dragunov would look pretty cool. So would Steven with the boxing gloves and hooded robe, though inconvenient in terms of the gloves...

The problem is that they switch up so rapidly, sometimes not even finishing the string but just doing the one two jab, or just 1,1 jab. Kazumi is a good example of this. She'll jab, jab chop seemingly forever unless I gamble, and I lose most of the time....

Is there a list of GAFers who play I can add?

I main a pretty good Dragunov and Jack-7 so add me on PSN for a fight:

PSN: Rolento

My Dragunov is even dressed as Rolento ^_^

I am one of those people you encounter who has won only 1 game out of his last 15. Played for 30 min and dropped two ranks from fighter while three other ppl get promotions against me.

Humiliating

I'm starting to feel like Brawler is my "true" skill level. Every time I jump up to vanguard, I end up losing to a bunch of people in straight matched who are "boosting" their 2nd and 3rd characters. Meanwhile, my main (Ling) never strays too far from my Asuka and Kaz, and I barely know any of the latter's moves (and I darn sure can't EWFG or wavedash.

I've spent like 30 min in practice with Kaz and I mostly just stand back and punish and yet I spend hours with Ling practicing but they're the same rank.

It's a process. Little steps over and over to get to a new destination.

If you don't want to go through lengthy tutorials you gotta play mirror matches with someone who is better than you. Take attention on what he does, when and why. Look what setups he uses, what moves give him the best payoff, what juggles he uses, note how he punishes you. Learn from all of that. It doesn't matter how bad you lose, it's like reading a book, an instruction. You do it to get better later. Don't be obsessed with ranks.

Knowledge gain from losing is generally much higher then from winning. If one steamrolls someone he learns nothing new, he's opponent gets tons of information though. The key is if he can see and analyze it for his advantage.

Your internet probably sucks. I bet what's happening is people are seeing your bad connection and canceling out of the match. I do that all the time to yellow bars.

I moved to a new city recently, new ISP...etc but the problem is still the same i really don't think it's me especially when other games like IJ2 and SFV are working perfectly fine with me and I did port forwarding like everyone suggested. Also it seems lots of people are facing the same problem from what i read on Reddit.

Online Tekken 7 on PS4 is a bad experience mainly cause by the horrid input delay, 4 bar matches feel super sluggish for me.
