TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Caved and bought the game on the PC. Seriously impressed with the polish and just all around awesomeness of the game. I'm really rusty though, and it took me forever to beat Devil Kazuya on normal difficulty. Now I need to decide on if I want to start practicing Leo or Kazuya first.

Squirrel, tell those peeps how great our connection is even though I'm on WiFi right now.
But seriously, the netcode is great for me. Better than TTT2. The only problem I have is the input lag.

Yeah, it was pretty great before and with the recent patch it improved further. No complaints at all, really. I imagine it'd be spectacular if you could get back on wired.

Ranked is kind of a mixed bag though. Lots of people on some kind of potato connection or whatever. Quite a few ragequitters too.

But doing well with Kat in ranked, got up to Juggernaut yesterday.

I really wish they'll finally fix the netcode on console now that both versions are on "equal" footing.

You mean you don't like:

4 bars being 3 bars or even worse once you get in match.

Getting 4+ failed attempts to finding a match, until one finally connects.

Don't like it when both players rematch and it can't sync folks up.

Yeah I wish they would fix these things. I have a theory on the last one though that was proven via private match. When my buddy and I tried to rematch each other in private match we would be hitting buttons and it desynced. I said don't hit any and we didn't desync going forward. This is on the character portrait screen when it is trying to load folks up. We tested it a lot and anytime either of us would hit buttons on the character load screen, always fucked up, and anytime we didn't it always worked.

Paging Harada....

Also, Devil Jin is pretty slick. His damage output is quick beastly. I saw a combo online that was, either FB or BF, then 2, 1, DF 2, and all 3 hits hit and cause a launcher. Now for the life of me I cannot get that to work even if it is a counter hit starter.

What's the trick to getting it to work ?

It doesn't work, last hit is blockable. Maybe if middle punch is counter hit. Last time I saw this hit was in T4 where this string was godlike.

Super strange. It is part of a combo video I watched, and is a total 80 damage.

Let me link the said video:

Second or third combo in here.

Edit: Just saw this idiot is uploading non natural combo videos. Wow what a waste of time. Shit like this needs to be ripped off YT. :/

Is this correct?

It's not clear. Does fighting higher ranks give more points or not? I managed to drop guy who was 4 ranks higher and didn't feel like I gained much.
I think this is still correct. You want to play people of your rank in order to get quick promotions.

And by the way, we need to play more GrayFox! :p

Yeah, seems like that's correct.

As the thing says, you get less points if there's a larger rank difference (in either direction!). So you don't gain anything from beating people 4 ranks above you.

More? We don't play at all. :( You'll be on this week?

That so fucking stupid.

You're a Xiaoyu player. The dancing game is where she excels.

Did you know that 3+4 spin has a built-in (punch?) parry?

I did not. Literally just found out seconds ago on accident with a failed 4~3 command. No one covers how evasive she is outside of using AOP or RDS.

I did it once on accident against a Leo. I thought the only parry and she had was out of RDS. I was like WTF when it happened the first time, and was unable to replicate it for weeks.

So I intentionally lost a few matches or at least through them just trying to see if I could make it happen again. I ain't seen any guide or video explaining what to do next after a successful spin party.

The problem is, I'm not Online when you are. I'll try to play earlier, but I can't promise anything :/

Entered one of those ESL tournaments on PS4 earlier. Got second place. One of the players accused me of lag switching (connection was super laggy though, that is true). Online tournaments are trash.
Also, TTT2 Online ranks and T7 ranks can't be compared directly I noticed. Yellow ranks in T7 play like greens in TTT2.

That's the one where she's behind your opponent, right? I wouldn't rely on it too much. You can try using d/b+1 after that, but I'm not sure what the follow up is either.

He's serious about dropping the game, apparently. Harada please, we need that Mokujin!

Shieet, to be so desperate over a piece of hard wood. But I understand, I have pretty much zero interest in any characters apart of 5 I play and I played almost everyone in tag2.
Roster is poor.

That's why I always say that I can sympathize with people who drop the game over characters like Lei. If there's few characters that are fun to play for you, motivation will drop real quick if they're not present anymore.

Indeed. Quirky characters like Mokujin, Lei, JC, Wang, Zafina, Ganryu .ect gave Tekken "colors". Not helping that new characters are so simple that almost primitive.

I've been having a great time with all the new characters. And i want to play like 20+ characters.

Roster seems about as far from poor as you can go.

That's how I feel , they could remove whoever I play now , I'll just use someone else , so many good characters, I'm playing Tekken for Tekken , not whoever I played in the previous installement.

it's an amazing feeling when your crappy green rank paul beats a jaggernaut ranked master raven with ff4, ff21, and demoman

This game is so polished. Spent like 4 hours today just in practice mode and treasure mode. My only issue with the game is that I kind of suck at it, but it's got a lot of content to do even outside of online matches. Still haven't gone online to get my ass kicked. I also suck at wavedashing or whatever its called in this game.

So a s a King how do I punish or deal with the rocket kick Korean Bob has? I faced a guy who spammed that kick and even when I could block it I was overwhelmed by it, am I a disadvantage frame wise even after blocking it? any punish?

It's -10 if they do the just frame and the pushback is pretty far. I heard only some characters can punish it (from what I read, no personal experience here), but I think you should be aiming to sidestep it ( I don't know how well it tracks, I rarely get it out in an actual match).

Yeah I'm rocking it on PS4. It's a free download. Shirt, impact effects, three versions of the floating little dude, and some personalization to your online ID stuff/health bar, etc.

Neat.

I suppose I may need to make a college class for learning Ling Xiaoyu. I thought one video would be enough, because I personally like the personal discovery.

Xiaometry: How To Play Ling Xiaoyu

To answer your question

3+4
25 Total Frames
2-10 Parry
+5 Opponent BT on Parry (Nothing Guaranteed)

All the technical garb out of the way. Her spins are very strong, both from forward and backturned. Although the backturned spin doesnt parry, it is absolute magic to spin around attacks.

Dancing?
b+3+4, RDS d+1+4, repeat

d+1+2, AOP b+3+4, RDS d+1+4, u/b+1+2, repeat
b+3+4, 2+3+4~RDS b+3+4, 2+3+4~RDS b+3+4 (RDS 3+4 to then spin around the thirsty and punish them)
d+1+2, AOP b+3+4, RDS d+1+4, u/b+3+4~d+1+2, AOP f+3+4
u/b+1+2[3], d+3+4[1], d/b+1+2[3], u+3+4[1], repeat
The combinations are endless really, so find what you like and what gets the opponent wanting a bite of Xiaoyu only to get her ballerina shoe stuck up their back passage.

So I am curious what folks recommend for pads for this game.

The DS4 is great IMO, but I wasn't sure if there was a preferred one for fighters when it comes to doing EWGF. I can do a EWGF fairly consistently on pad, but only if it is a combo opener. The second I want to do a second one back to back, my thumb shits out.
