What platform is everyone on if you're having issues with online? I'm on PC and played around 40 matches online and have had two that give the "connection lost" message before it starts.
I can't play single match online on PS4.Yea same here been paying PS4 all day, been fine but for a couple of drops.
9.5 final verdict from IGN

FACTS and it's nothing funny about it. Capcom and Namco should take careful notes.Dead or Alive 5 story was better executed than Tekken 7 and respected the guest characters more.
I can't even get matches in lobbies.
Uh... so when can we expect Namco to look into this?
Seriously, is ANYONE playing this on Xbox One?
Question: Does jukebox on PS4 come only with preorders or does it come with any PS4 purchase on disc?
On the story and why I didn't like it:
- Akuma was cool from a normal perspective, but made no sense in the story. "Yo like she saved me once or something or maybe I like her?" His inclusion felt so flimsy. Would have liked them to go further with it. But while cool, felt pointless.
-Hei. Trying to make him a hero at the end. Dude has been a dick for years and his biggest goal was getting the devil gene, but now he's all like "nah I wanna end it g". Most of the games were about him trying to figure out a way to splice that power into himself. He even says this in 4 point blank. Now he just wants to stop Kaz?
- SIdelining Jin. Yeah you made him too powerful. I get it. But having him out like that was lame.
- Hei's backstory was good, actually! Problem was, Kazumi's part felt silly. Did she really love him or was it all to get rid of him?
- Clad. They went through the trouble of introducing this character that could suppress the devil gene and cool shit like that because he's a bleach character, but they just use him to run a social media account. Even he was shocked when they booted him out the story.
-Why didn't Kaz and Hei fight this seriously before? I know Hei wanted Kaz's DG before killing him and Jin, but they met up in 4 and their battle didn't even go that hard pre-Jacks flying in.
-The character stories in general were awful. Half of them had nothing to do with anything, and only a small fraction felt like they had a real outcome for future games/it being obvious who won. While SFV had still pictures, at least most of them had relevancy to the story and decent character interaction. This one had like seven seconds per character.
- The ending battle was great. So was the result. But It feels like the end of the mishima legacy was bullshit since Kaz and Jin are still around. Yeah Jin ain't full Mishima but he might as well be one.
-Watching the trailers again, most of them spoil the entire goddamn plot of the story. It's crazy how much I already saw. Kinda regret that lol
tl;dr, cool fights, mediocre story with too many flipflops.
I think a lot of the reason why this happened is due to the fact that they're setting up T8 or a T7.5 and they had to find a way to do that while also moving the story along. Akuma's inclusion (he'll be in T8 given Kazuya's still alive) and the fact that he didn't really get into detail, also along with the fact he's very popular in this game, just shows he'll be in the next one. Kazuya and Heihachi, their whole thing has been happening way more than Jin's so having them get theirs out of the way first makes sense. Jin not being in the spotlight is just like Vince McMahon taking the belt off his lead guy during a part of the year to give others some shine. If Jin could have taken care of everything himself then the others wouldn't have shined like they did in today's game. Same with Claudio and a lot of stuff honestly. I feel what you mean about SFV's side-stories.
Basically it looks like they're setting up the next one and going from the "Mishima Feud with Kazuya and Heihachi" to the "Kazama vs Mishimas with Jin vs Kazuya." There's a lot we don't know abou tthat and honestly I would not be surprised one bit to see Jun instead of Kazumi with that one.
Overall with this game's success they were smart setting up the next one but I definitely see what you're saying. I wonder how it would be if it was maybe 8 hours long.
Crazy.
I do like that they seem to be on it pretty quickly though. They definitely are making sure concerns are heard.
Both make good points but I just wanted to get some damn closure on a silly story I've had some investment in since I was 10.
Story mode flaws aside, I do think Kazuya killing Heihachi was appropriate and satisfying enough but then are they really gonna do Tekken 8 without Heihachi? I think they should have saved that moment for the last one but whatever.
On the bright side, Jin will get more attention for his own swan song and there's still hope that they'll get Jun into the mix somehow(as a spirit or in flashbacks).
That said, they need to tighten it up for the next one. Getting every characters ending was a lot of fun for me.
Easiest platinum ever.
Fuck electrics and hellsweeps
That realization that you've been fucking up most of your life by not playing Tekken until now.
Why didn't anyone tell me these games were so dope? Having a blast.
Only thing is I wish you can mute people.

this, apparently they can also speak in ranked. How awkward.

They really should have had a public beta test before launching. So many little issues that need fixing; usually Tekken console games are solid.
Still though how the fuck do y'all remember these massive movelists lmao. I'm assuming most characters have a handful of best / most viable moves for a given situation though, so maybe that makes it easier?
Hop out to the Playstation menu and make yourself a private party. That basically acts as a global mute.
Thanks you saved my life.
np! I learned that trick real fast when I went online with Injustice 2 lol
