I'm pretty sure that Heihachi will have unlocked some hidden power inside of him (maybe the thing Jinpachi had that they still haven't talked about) to survive or he'll some back as someone who's "not alive nor dead" or something. He mentioned throwing Kazuya off a cliff and proving he's not human and all that but you then look at everything Heihachi can do himself. That's just not human, he's got something in him and that'll likely show up in the next game.

You can't try find a dirt cheap second hand Tag 2/borrow one? More likely to find a game, better transition to T7, generally better game lol.

I just got around to finishing the story...wow it's terrible! It's even worse than whatever low expectations I had for it. It completely nonsensical with scenes having no real connection to each other. The reporter thing was done terribly and served no purpose whatsoever for the story. If Namco was going to spend big money on a story mode, they might as well have put more effort into it.

? That fight is hard and I'm only playing it on normal. What's the deal with making fights tougher by giving opponents perpetual super armor?

If they armor up it 100% means they are going to hit you with a big linear attack so just prepare to sidestep and punish.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Hachijou Clan wanted her to end him due to something with the Mishima blood. One thing I've noticed is that while Kazuya's got the demon blood in him, his form's far different from Kazumi's. I think what it is is that whatever is inside of Heihachi's blood mixed with what was in Kazumi's and in turn they gave that to Kazuya hence why his devil form looks that way compared to hers. Maybe their clan knew this because honestly him leading the world to great disasters has to have a reason. Had she not turned on him, everyone's lives would be far different.

This is my first Tekken since Tag 1, and holy shit I'm terrible at it. Beat the story mode which was quite fun. Ended up getting stuck on a lot of the fights, especially the final one.

Man, this being my first Tekken that I'm trying to play beyond casually is rough. I wish the warm-up worked correctly right now because I want to practice combos and play against people. Don't wanna put in a ton of lab time this early on.

This video is a great overview, thanks. Although it did discourage me from focusing on Bryan due to the difficulty rating, haha. I have been interested in Bryan, King and Asuka so far, but want to keep trying out everyone before focusing.

I find it strange that there are no icons in the move lists for moves that are launchers, but they go to the trouble of indicating screw attacks and sidestep effective moves.

Yeah it's $20US, and I'm pretty sure I've seen it on sale for like $8. Digital is the best bet.

I played through the arcade mode and some practice. Man this game is really good. I feel like Hwoarang is better than he was in Tekken 6. I only played with Hwoarang, Steve, & Akuma. I keep expecting Akuma to have light, medium, and heavy and that clearly ain't the case. Lol...

Its impossible on Normal. After the 50% health treshold he insta kills you after every stun.

I did it on easy. Its still a bullshit fight but he won't do that super.

I've been watching them play too. It's the hardest difficulty, it's been pretty brutal this whole time. The AI side rolls were nuts.

On the story and why I didn't like it:

- Akuma was cool from a normal perspective, but made no sense in the story. "Yo like she saved me once or something or maybe I like her?" His inclusion felt so flimsy. Would have liked them to go further with it. But while cool, felt pointless.
-Hei. Trying to make him a hero at the end. Dude has been a dick for years and his biggest goal was getting the devil gene, but now he's all like "nah I wanna end it g". Most of the games were about him trying to figure out a way to splice that power into himself. He even says this in 4 point blank. Now he just wants to stop Kaz?
- SIdelining Jin. Yeah you made him too powerful. I get it. But having him out like that was lame.
- Hei's backstory was good, actually! Problem was, Kazumi's part felt silly. Did she really love him or was it all to get rid of him?
- Clad. They went through the trouble of introducing this character that could suppress the devil gene and cool shit like that because he's a bleach character, but they just use him to run a social media account. Even he was shocked when they booted him out the story.
-Why didn't Kaz and Hei fight this seriously before? I know Hei wanted Kaz's DG before killing him and Jin, but they met up in 4 and their battle didn't even go that hard pre-Jacks flying in.
-The character stories in general were awful. Half of them had nothing to do with anything, and only a small fraction felt like they had a real outcome for future games/it being obvious who won. While SFV had still pictures, at least most of them had relevancy to the story and decent character interaction. This one had like seven seconds per character.
- The ending battle was great. So was the result. But It feels like the end of the mishima legacy was bullshit since Kaz and Jin are still around. Yeah Jin ain't full Mishima but he might as well be one.
-Watching the trailers again, most of them spoil the entire goddamn plot of the story. It's crazy how much I already saw. Kinda regret that lol

tl;dr, cool fights, mediocre story with too many flipflops.

- Akuma felt weak because Kazumi's plot felt weak. They set her up in the trailers that this was all about her. She never explained why she didn't them to die (something something cycle) so this reduced Akuma to being simply Disgruntled Mishima-aggrieved Fighter #244828 as opposed to their doom

- Clad is hilarious. He is let go when he fulfills his deal and his response is 'you monster!', like, this is what he signed up for.

- Kazuya hitting a Satelite from space with pinpoint accuracy takes the cake.

- speaking of which, not sure why the Satelite falling would turn the public against the Zaibatsu. Heihachi could simply say 'muh bad, it was malfunction' or you know, 'the giant wing demon I'm trying to protect you from did it'
