Tenchi no Mon Trailer (PSP)

I'm glad other people are finally looking at this game.

This has told me that Climax is the new Quintet.

I half wish that they simply changed this game to Soul Blazer.

Kamui Fujiwara is the only thing missing from this game =).

This is one interesting PSP game since it's not a port or a sequel.
You have to wonder how many developers are going to forgo the massive PS2 usebase to make exclusives that are only available on PSP. I have a feeling it's going to end up like the Xbox/PC dilemma.

I think A LOT of smaller games that would struggle to find themselves on consoles will make their way to the PSP.

Like a lot of racing games that simply can't compete with NFS or GT.

All of the ones in California, apparently.

The only problem I see with this game is that it looks to bland.

The story also seems like it will be weak. I hope they focus their efforts on making the world in this game more grand, and the story epic and adventurous.

Bland? Please name another handheld game that looks like this.

As far as story goes, impossible to tell from a 30 second trailer. Since it's Climax I'm expecting something along the lines of a 3D LandStalker or Alundra. And yes, I know Alundra is Matrix but it's all former Climax staff.

That's not what I meant. I don't mean bland for a handheld game, I simply mean bland for a game.

I've been impressed with this game since the first day I saw it.

Oh god, please happen. Matrix should get to work on a PSP Alundra/Dueal Hearts sequel too... I dunno why they're wasting their time on mobile games and engines for ChunSoft. :/

unfortunately they don't own the rights to those games.

It really seemed as if SCE simply said lets go into a new direction this generation and work with Level 5 instead. Dark Cloud has basically taken Alundra's place.

jarrod, completely agree with you. Matrix has been treading water and going nowhere for a couple of years now. Their close relationship with SCEI should easily allow them to get approval for an Alundra PSP sequel. I don't see Dual Hearts happening as it bombed big time in Japan and everywhere else. Hopefully Climax's resurrection will inspire them to get back to their roots. *Crosses fingers*

Which sucks because it's not even a tenth as good. :(

Matrix should work with Sega on LandStalker 2 for PS2, PSP or DS then. And maybe port the original LandStalker to GBA too. :)

Matrix's last game with SCEI was a flop (I was hyped for Dual Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts flattened it).

Alundra 2 (one of my favorite ARPGs) also bombed.

And hell Tenchi no Mon won't do that well either. I expect I'll have to import it, but if it's good enough maybe someone will publish it here.

I would be surprised to see another Matrix game from SCEI anytime soon.

Land Stalker revival!! Start writing emails, let's make it happen! :)

Then again, does Sega or Climax own the IP?

Yeah I didn't like Dark Cloud either, was really hyped for it, then it sucked. Passed on Dark Cloud 2, and simply played Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts.

DC2 was a massive improvement (possibly the largest between a sequel ever), you might wanna check it out since it's cheap these days. The only problem is the rather crappy auto generation dungeons, but there's so much to do in the game... it can get overwhelming. DC1 was pure ass though, I hated it!
