Pretty uneventful WTF this year, outside of Nadal's small resurgence. It's a shame. Djokovic deserves his success, but in a slightly different manner than in 2011. This year I feel it's more his consistency and seriousness in the way he's approaching his career that were rewarded. He wasn't as challenged as in 2011, even if Federer came close and Wawrinka produced a fantastic match in the French. You just feel the Tour is in a transition state, with several well installed around 30yo players naturally beginning to struggle with consistency and new players that are still too far from them physically and mentally. Hope for some surprises next season.

Nice serve ! Good form. If I were you I'd try to take the ball even higher if you can, you'll gain speed and security over the net.
Also foot fault lol.
But it's only one serve on repeat ! Like I already said to Mimic we want to see you in matches guys !
I knew it was gonna be about that one :lol Thanks for the advice, I have trouble tossing up high, usually prefer to keep my dead point at my hit point or close but that's hard to maintain. I also need a stronger core to not put so much pressure on my back (that was a service with spin, I usually don't go for flat services anymore, the extra 20kph over 170-180 doesn't feel worth it anymore) and of course go more through my legs but that's hard since I switched to the i.prestige for some reason

I legit can't serve to save my life. :( Bane of my tennis. Good forehand, great backhand, good movement, decent at the net, then double fault a game away.

I can serve unless its a big moment. I felt so bad this week for letting my mixed doubles partner down in an important match I double faulted twice in a 3rd super tiebreaker and we ended up losing the match. I'm so weak mentally when it comes to serving in big moments

This is pretty much me when I was younger, but swap 'good forehand' for 'excellent at the net' and 'passable forehand'. No consistency on serve at all though, and limited stamina.

Belgium has no chance in their final against GBR. They have had the most fortuitous opponents up to this point

It's strange to say that Great Britain is the favorite of a Davis Cup final but it's clearly the case here. They have a surprisingly good mix of players for this competition : one very good singles guy (James Ward obviously :D ) and several doubles specialists, so they can safely assume they'll have a shot at three points against a lot of countries.
What Belgium needs to do is win against Ward or Edmund in singles the first day, which shouldn't be too hard if Goffin is in form. Then the doubles will be decisive.

Interesting choices from both teams : GB tries to put a little uncertainty in the mix by choosing Edmund, who should logically lose but is on an ascending phase in his career. At the same time Belgium knows they need the doubles so they "sacrifice" Bemelmans against Murray in singles for Darcis to stay fresh.

Honestly, I think Edmund will beat Darcis if the rubber is live. Just calling it now. People don't seem to have noticed how good Edmund is, he's the fifth-ranked U21. I don't think he'll ever be a top, top player, but he has a future in the top 30 at least,

Well Darcis is still ahead of him in the rankings and has a lot more experience, so I wouldn't call a result in advance but I agree it'll be a very interesting match to see if the outcome is still undecided sunday. For now I think the doubles will be pretty exciting to see.

Edmund showing guts already. Has served out of a tree on the key points.

What forehands! Edmund takes the first break!

EDIT: Love service game with an ace, an unreturnable, a monster cross-courter backhand and a monster forehand. We are not worthy!

EDIT: TEAM GB TEAM GB TEAM GB MURRAY CYGS 2016

Was delighted to see Edmund given the nod. Been playing well on clay recently and has a much higher ceiling than Ward.

This could be the making of him.

Possibly slightly too generous. :x Some dodgy serves there, just passing nerves hopefully.

If Edmund wins, i actually hope the Murray brothers lose the doubles so that Edmund/Darcis will be live (iirc it's before Murray/Goffin, right?). Edmund could make a nice 150 points, jumping him to 69 in the rankings.

I think the number 1 players play first on sunday, Edmund v. Darcis would be the fifth match.
What a match from Edmund so far. I think part of it is due to Goffin playing with a lot more pressure, but so far it proves to be a brilliant strategic pick. Could be a real kickstart for Edmund's career in the top 100.

Aww, that sucks. Edmund could have really used those ranking points, #69 would be incredible. He could have maybe been inside #50 before he turned 21 with a good run at the AO and preceding tournaments.

Never seen a player so crippled by nerves. 4 UEs in the first two sets, 14 in the third and fourth, already at 4 in the fifth.

What a match, first two sets Edmund destroyed Goffin, after that Goffin just demolished Edmund

trainer should have called edmund out when the wild goffin started scoring crits.

I don't think Goffin won that so much as Edmund lost it. It's not just the UEs, it was the loss of depth on every shot. Goffin is like a much worse Nishikori, short balls are his bread and butter because he doesn't generate his own power and can't really counterpunch. If you keep it deep and high you get the first two sets, if you do weak loopy shots into centre-court you get the last three sets.

Well, looks like we're getting our expected 1:1 at the end of the first day (Sorry Bemelmans but I don't see you coming back). Doubles will be deadly.

That particular win is even sweeter knowing the Belgian idiots in the crowd will be pissed off.

It's great supporting your country, but not the way they were.

Go Belgium, 1-1 in sets.

Really tight match, could go either way right now. I thought Great Britain would win the doubles easily, but I see chances for Belgium.

This is such a weird doubles match because one player in each team is GOATing and the other player on each team is having a complete mare. It's like a singles match with two loco ball kids running around the place.

Get yo videos online GAF, we'll give each other tips! If someone like me who never had a lesson in his life can do it, we all can. Tennis being an elite sport is a big ass myth and it doesn't require any money at all, just a wall, a ball and something to hit it with.

I have a new quick video of wallpractice. I only had 5 mins of time cause of work so I just recorded quickly and did it in normal clothing. First 45 seconds is from start of hitting the first ball (warm up) and last few seconds are a few backhands I hit after 5 mins. Looking for critique on my swing for the most part (footwork isn't really possible on those rocky rocks and small place so I just do short steps), I also tend to lean back during my forehands, something I need to get out of my system already. I play with an i.Prestige MP (supposedly Safin used it but probably bull, it has a PT-something product code), pretty damn head light at 370g (I use a little lead in it), it's strung at 21kg/46 pounds for it's power (already a control racquet) way below it's 23kg recommendation, but all the pros do it like this anyway I think...

My boy will have his Nikon ready the next time the weather allows for it (it's cold as shit over here) and I have more free time and we can hopefully do a whole match vid
