I wish Bernie would just get it over with and drop out, tbh
Yup, maybe the real Hillary will show up.

If you don't think the GOP would be as obstructionist when faced with someone who self-identifies as a socialist as opposed to a man who has to repeatedly deny that he is one, well....there is a bridge in Brooklyn that I would like you to take a look at, make you a good deal.
No they wouldn't because the word "Socialist" has no fangs due to them constantly trotting it out every five seconds these past 7 years. This country is far more divided on the subject of race.
Why do you think the birther's existed? or the constant claims he was from Kenya? If Obama had been white you would have never seen half as much BS that the GOP pulled. The fact is that the GOP played to their racist base and the past 7 years is proof of it
It's always something. I'm sure they'd give a free pass to a socialist whose ideas sound way more radical than Obummer's.
Hillary's a great campaigner, a seasoned debater, and is more popular with older demographics and ethnic minorities. She's a far more marketable and palatable candidate than Bernie. And she'd get more shit done in the White House, because she knows how negotiate and compromise. Those years as Secretary of State would serve her well.
There's no guarantee. It's a possibility we'd better make damn sure we take into account this election cycle.
It's 4 hours from now.Is there a countdown for when the thing is gonna start?

That was from May of this year. Bernie's brand of socialism (which isn't even true socialism) may not be a problem for you. It may not be a problem for me. However, it is an issue going into a national election.
Also, does no one remember the 1990s? The GOP was happy to shut down the government then, too. Not to the insane extreme they are now, but it's not entirely based on race. Sure, it's part of it...but it's not the entire argument.
I'm making the next one. #Hype
I'm thinking about it.
These threads are fun because they let you automatically know who understands how politics works and who doesn't.
Yup, maybe the real Hillary will show up.
Why is this on a Saturday night?
The democratic party sure knows how to sell their debates. Last one was not even a debate and was on Friday. -_-

Yes, because CNN invented the concept of breaking down two hour debates into smaller sound bites simply to attack Bernie Sanders. It's never been done before in the history of American politics.
And, again, you couldn't score it differently because of confirmation bias. Every single objective measure we have showed that Hillary out performed Bernie in the debates. His weakest exchange, outside of guns, was on foreign policy. Tonight should be interesting for him.
Most unbiased OP 2015
No, that wasn't why Newt shut the government down. But it was a more sensationalist story.Didn't newt shut it down last time because he didn't like the seat clinton gave him on air force 1?
edit-- yup, just checked

A pretty dumb passive aggressive OP. It would be better for it to be more accurate so that non-US GAF can understand what is going on.
The democratic debate has candidates that actually matter and actually want and need to talk. Give respect to Sanders and O'Malley.HA
just like the Republican one right? Right?

Are there any differences between the candidates on immigration? I didn't hear it spoken about during the last debate, and it looks like it won't be touched tonight, either.
"Has unprecedented appeal to minorities."
I initially mistook this for sarcasm. The OP appears to actually be serious, though.

There's not a whole lot of space between them on any issue. Everyone basically agrees with everything everyone else says, it's just a matter of what each candidate thinks they can actually get done.
Okay? They didn't show that. It wasn't a snafu. It was a stupid throw away line. Did CNN show the official clip of Sanders saying he was going to wait for Putin to apologize? I mean, come on! You cannot live in a world in which you actually believe that the media is out to build Hillary freaking Clinton up. They did everything they could to make this contest seem like a horse race. Independent organizations outside CNN showed that that Hillary won the debate. I just...I don't get it. Every thing in the universe doesn't have to be some attack on Bernie Sanders. To borrow a line from Hillary, I'm sorry the facts don't fit your narrative, but it's true. It is genuinely possible for Democrats to prefer Hillary to Bernie. Not because of DWS. Not because of CNN. Not because of whatever current talking point is being used. Democrats seem to identify more with Sec Clinton than with Senator Sanders.Daniel B·;185485412 said:Oh Adam, you walked right into that one; I challenge you to post an official CNN clip, that features her major debate night snafus, in particular, her very telling "Cut it out" line, on how she thought she could curtail Wall St. excesses (yes, I have double checked).
And, are you saying that Bernie didn't do anything but awesome, on MSNBC's Debate Forum, compared to Hillary's Neo impression? For those that are interested, you can check out what I think is a fair [post=184589087]write up[/post] (please excuse my language; I was really #FeelingTheBern ).
Rachel Maddow's forum in South Carolina last Friday looks to have been a success- 32%of Democratic primary voters in the state say they watched it. It mostly reinforced Clinton's front runner status in the state- 67% who watched declared her to be the winner to 16% for Sanders and 6% for O'Malley. And although forum viewers said it made themv iew all three candidates more positively Clinton (61% more positive, 14% less positive)came out ahead of both Sanders (51/11) and O'Malley (38/18) on that metric as well.
Change is slow, but it's inevitable. Trying to make it come immediately would shoot democrats in the foot. How politics work now in America is terrible, and that is what they are trying to change. Read up on the Schedule 2 Marijuana position...
That's great and all, but if you agree why not change it?I agree.
kingkitty, can you have them delay the debate an hour so I can watch it? Thanks.
Not trying to politicize the horrible shooting in Paris, but that will be a main focus in the debate tonight. I also have a feeling a lot of americans are sick and tired of being afraid. That plays very well into Clinton's hand because she's seem as being hawkish as fuck. That plays very against Sanders' hand because he's seem as a pacifist.
Clinton is not going to suddenly get hawkish - she's just going to reiterate Obama's current agenda. Why would she get all amped and go rogue?
if you look at that pic the right way it looks like a mutant baby Hitler
I was looking at CNN, it starts at 8pm on CBS, much better. I heard CNN say one of the key topics tonight will be about the Paris terrorist attacks.
