Hopefully we won't follow that up with a 2 hit game tonight, however.

Man, the northside is imploding. All the pressure from the media and fans is finally getting to them. This could get interesting as the season goes on and the excuses start flying.
 
I say get ready for a cardinal collapse. Their pitching is not good enough to keep them in ball games if their offense stutters.

But not insurmountable. However, I will be quite content if the Cubs get the wild card.

Just get to the playoffs, dammit, with the pitching staff healthly (and after what I saw last night, some valium to keep Zambrano from going crazy again) and good things will happen.

I have been saying that most of the year. I don't think that is happening. Larussa has control of the team and pushing them to succeed.

I cannot begin to express my disappointment with the Astros this season.
 
i wonder if pressure got to the cubs and astros. they were both heavy favorites at the beginning of the year. there's no reason for either team to be so "bad".

giambi, sosa, boone...all with very low production numbers...HMMMMMM

8-7 Cubs right now..everytime you think your team has waken up they either barely win or blow the game.

At this point I only rate the Cubs slightly better than the Stros,but thats not saying much.

One problem the Cubs have this year is that most of their runs come from the home run, not from baserunners.

It amazes me how many whiners and complainers are on this team. Zambrano bitching about Edmonds "showboating"? Uh....Zambrano? Let me introduce you to your right fielder...

if the yankees starters ever realize their potential for this season there are only a few teams that can match up in a 5 or 7 game series...the cards are not one of them.

Bad running decisions, bad fielding, inability to make clutch hits, score nearly 50% of their runs via the home run, shitty bullpen. You know, at the beginning of the year I was disappointed to be done with St. Louis in July. Now I'm ecstatic. Yeah, maybe we can get the wild card. Only to get destroyed by St. Louis in the playoffs! Cubs are so pathetic I can't even get mad anymore. I just laugh. Maybe I should go check out the south side team for a couple games and see if they are playing team ball any better....

Oh well at least I'll have ESPN2K5 tonight! :D
