Makes sense as Prince was a Jehova's Witness.

RIP.

That doesn't really add up though. They don't accept blood transfusions but they're totally fine with any other medical treatment, and I certainly wouldn't expect anything as audacious as "God cured your AIDS" from them.

Can't believe Prince is gone.

Literally spent the last several months listening to as much of his catalogue as I could, having never really listened to him at all before that.

Has now become one of my most beloved artists, left a mark with every single one of his changes - initial solo work, the Revolution, second solo round, with the NPG, as the Love Symbol, even his last two LPs were, in my opinion, genuinely great listens.

Seriously can't believe he's gone. 2016 is the year of the Reaper.

I'm being quoted a lot but i'm not seeing any songs being named...

Nobody is going to rattle off a list of songs just because some junior strolled into a near 1000 post thread (in under an hour) with some stupid comment.

Dude was popular across multiple generations. Find your way out to another thread that conforms with your sensibilities.

2016 can you politely fuck off, this is getting ridiculous now. Literally haemorraging talent this year as a globe.
Purple Rain is among one of my fave albums, gutted to lose this guy.

What the fuck is up with this year?

Man if I were a legend and above 50 I would get really nervous now?

Also, just because you don't know how important Prince was to pop culture, music and culture in general doesn't mean he wasn't important.

I can only assume his debauchery caught up with him in the end. Wealthy 57 year olds shouldn't be dying of flu.

What a terrible year this has been for the world of music.

the flu can kill at any age. It's more likely to kill infants and the elderly but it can kill middle aged folks, too.

Though if the AIDS speculation is true then that certainly would compound things

Why should other people have to do you the favor? You wanna see the catalog, it's out there. Google it. One minute tops. Stop being lazy.

And again, have some compassion and empathy. You may not be a fan but that doesn't mean you get to belittle the artist and, essentially, their fans in the process. Especially in light of the artist's extremely recent passing.

Or you can keep being a twat. Whatever floats your boat.

Loved this dude got to see him live and he killed it. Sad to see him go at least he leaves masses of material behind. No resting in piece for the true greats just immortality...

Starwipe's followup article reports that Death Officially a Motherfucker.
The musician born Prince Rogers Nelson died at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota, where earlier it had been reported that police had responded to a call of an unknown “fatality.” While those accounts initially just reinforced that Death is a total fucker who will come for all of us eventually, subsequent updates, sadly, revealed the worst: Prince—the beautifully otherworldly, seemingly immortal Prince—had somehow died, and Death is a cruel, unapologetically brutal motherfucker who just does not give a shit.

Fuck, this is horrible news. Definitely one of my favorite artists of all time, one of the most talented all around musicians.

This is MJ all over again.

2 of my top 3 musicians are now deceased.

The aids plus religious angle wouldn't surprise me. The dude was a big JW, and he's had the flu for like a month. IIRC he had announced he was writing a memoir a few months ago too. He probably knew it was coming.

JW's don't tell you that God will cure you if you have AIDS, infact they are big advocates of modern medical practices so that is obviously bullshit.

Man. 57 and died of the flu?

He was a Jehovah's Witnesses wasn't he? Is there any sort of flu or pneumonia medical treatment a Jehovah's Witnesses would have refused? I thought they only refused blood transfusions.

That is correct. I can't think of any theological reason he would have refused flu/pneumonia treatment.

EDIT: From what I've heard, the flu strain that is going around this year is particularly virulent.

You're on the Internet. Go find that shit on your own. Nobody is here to prove to you that Prince dying is a big deal. Crawl out of your own ass.

Yep. I'm not a big Prince fan and only know of Purple Rain (without looking it up). But even I know he was a big thing for the music industry.

RIP Prince.
