Affleck isn’t Batman anymore
Eddie Murphy Reaction GIF by Laff

I know I'm not salty at all. Did you miss the news that he is coming back for Aquaman 2 and the post credit scene for The Flash (that I already told you about)?

The only things it has in common are pretty generic aspects of Batman that have been used and reused in different ways for years
Now that a fair point, that for once doesn't attack any other people. Good job.

I think that's good -- keep Affleck in all that crossover nonsense. I hate having Batman in any kind of comic-book universes or crossover; impossible for me to see Batman standing alongside super-heros and see him as the canon Batman. Instead it's like he's some other guy, a more fantasy-oriented character who is inspired by Batman.

If there's one rule I could apply to all future Batman movies, it would be: never, ever make him a part of larger multiverses / universes / mutli-hero stories, and under no circumstances should anyone in Gotham ever refer to other heros as if they're real. It instantly kills the grounded feeling of that city and that world.

There was a point in the movie where it hit me that the theme was just a simplified version og the imperial march, and the whole thing fell apart.

Shame, I liked the movie. Too long though. Watch it in two sittings. Should probably have been a mini series.

Movies are too long these days

…and that’s all he’s ever doing 👍

If you feel attacked if I talk about the Snyder Cult, that rather says more about how you feel about yourself than what I say.

Alright so you don't remember that post credit scene. Got it.

Aaaannnnd here we are. Is it so hard for you to let other enjoy what they enjoy without getting insulting?

I do remember it... but do you really think with everything going on that they are actually going to pursue what's set up? Remember what happened with Justice League? :messenger_tears_of_joy: Hell, that movie may never see the light of day, the way things are going.

The Snyder Cult have been absolutely abhorrent to people on social media, so I'm not going to be nice to them, no.

That's another debate, the thing is Affleck is still Batman. And judging by that post credit scene he is now ok to come back for more. That was my point, ad it is perfectly valid.

Please let's not pretend they are the worst. I can find you countless example of people acting like real dicks toward Snyder fans. Remember the toxicity when the SnyderCut did not exist? I do.
Do you think this is ok?

Seriously WTF is this? And that's just a small glimpse.
I also remember the many times this fandom raised money for suicide prevention. Do you have any other fandom doing this kind of stuff?

See? There is good and bad people EVERYWHERE. Saying the Snyder fans are bad as a whole, and calling them "cultist" is just (and excuse me but it's true) stupid.

Do you have all that stuff just saved and ready to go for times like this?

Did I say other people weren’t douchebags too? But the Snyder cult is very much full of douchebags, so I‘m quite happy referring to them as such. Pointing out there‘s more than one group of arseholes on social media isn’t really much of an argument, and is therefore (excuse me but it’s true) stupid.

Affleck is not confirmed in any projects beyond The Flash. If he ever is, you have an argument, but for right now, all the insiders, trades and industry types are saying he’s done.

Nah, I just had to type "Snyder toxicity" and then you find plenty of examples. Example that are going my way, not yours. How surprising....

But no. Sorry you feel this way but it is untrue. It's funny because one day we are a small group of people, but then the next day we are the biggest toxic fanbase.
You are just making a generality (and this is NEVER a good idea). Remember all the article? The people saying we need to move on? Just for them to do the same thing for Batgirl lmao.
Regurgitating what you read online, not what you experienced, doesn't make you right.
But I see it's a lost cause to at least have some respect from you so whatever, keep being insulting if you feel it make you look like an adult and a better person than those "cultist".

No shit. No project is confirmed after The Flash, but the "Barry, you have to FIND ME" should be a good indication don't you think?

I'm not trying to get into the middle of this, but I'd like to point out that an alarmingly high number of Snyder fans for a few years there were actually verifiable bots. That helped to paint an even uglier picture of their collective character than was probably deserved.

I personally find most Snyder fans on social media awkward and unlikeable because they make their support of him into their entire online identity. And they tend to be more aggressive than even the most ardent Star Wars or MCU stans.

Source? Because the only number we have is 13% of the movement, which (and that can be a surprise for sure) is a quite low number.
You'd be surprised by how much both there is on social media.

Hard disagree, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. At least you are respectful.

Wait...

There are people out there who are "salty" that Ben Affleck isn't Batman anymore...?

I'm not salty personally but annoyed that WB destroyed Ant further on screen appearances of the best movie Batman. My annoyance expands to DC as a whole though. Even though I've enjoyed the majority of films (I even enjoyed Birds of Prey) I still believe they could be so much more.

It looks like we read the results of the same study.

In that study they estimate that such bot campaigns typically represent about 7% of the actual community. So 13% is a 6% greater figure - nearly double what is to be expected. And since we're referring to fanbases that tend to number in the tens of thousands, this is a significant and alarming difference. We should next acknowledge that bot activity is more active and disruptive than that of actual human beings. They pop up everywhere, even within conversations and threads that aren't even related to their cause.

So no, those aren't low numbers by any honest reckoning.

We've been told, rumors says, anonymous source told us etc etc...
It made 1.5 MILLION tweet. Even if 13% is bigger than normal, the end is that it still a massive demand.

Same has been said about the Oscar thing, and the Oscar themselves have defended the campaign.

There are many articles online about this, and endless images on Google taken from toxic Snyder fan tweets on Twitter and Facebook. It’s silly to sit there and claim the Snyder fan base hasn’t been toxic down through the years towards anyone, or any project, that doesn’t go along with what they want. They’ve been bloody awful… much like other cult-like behaviour from other fandoms.

Watched half of it last night Bump.

Wow, this movie effing rules. I got a new TV earlier this week, 65" 4k, HDR, OLED etc. So far though, the shows my wife has been streaming look like complete ass. I chalked it up to our internet speed and compression. Last night around 11 I stayed up and sync'd my headphones to the TV, loaded up HBO Max and turned this on to see what it would look like. Maaaaaan, this movie is gorgeous, the cinematography is just brilliant. It 100% felt like I was in a movie theater, I'm blown away at the quality of the sound. Image was fantastic as well.

I'll probably start it from the beginning tonight and I actually ordered the 4k disc so I'm curious how much better it will look on physical media.

This to me is hands down the best Batman film next to the 1989 Batman. I loved the detective work and how grimy it is. I really enjoy Batman Begins, Batman Returns. Dark Knight always seemed highly overrated to me, and I never saw the one with Bane and haven't seen the DCEU ones, no interest in those. The Batman though, it totally captures the type of vibe I want in a Batman film.
