Upon evaluation, I don't like the word "thot."

To me, "thot" is to "bitch" as "thug" is to "nigga".

It's like Bitch has become too commonplace, to widely used in scope, and even positive in some contexts, it's like society decided it needs to have a word, just has to have a word that exclusively meant to other and slut-shame women specifically on the grounds of their gender.

On my porn blog, some girl submitted a pic captioned "hottie or thottie".

I'm still puzzling that one out. 'Specially since she calls herself a thot on her blog.

I think something is wrong with my heat. I gotta find my landlord tomorrow or something :(

The Order Review Thread is going to be the GOAT of this generation, gonna go ahead and call that now

I can already see the meltdowns beginning. Homies making so many stretches, Reed Richard's gonna join GAF to find out what's going on

The only reason I know that game exists is because I occasionally get linked the most absurd "defense-force" posts on my Twitter. Some people act like their lives depended on that game doing well. I hope those who are hyped for it end up enjoying it at least - more games being good is better than more games being bad.

Is that what that word means? I'd never seen if before the Banks thread and it wasn't clear what the word meant (other than it was obviously bad) from the context. I learned a new word (that I will quickly put into my "do not use" pile).

THOT stands for "That Hoe Over There" and was originally used to describe a girl that was being really skanky and sloppy in the club.

But over time it seems to be becoming a word that you use for any chick you just feel like demeaning.

I felt like driving into a wall when I was listening to Power 106 and they started hacking it up with their THOT Thursday bullshit. Like, they were in the studio reading the dumbest, most vapid tweets ever. It just had the feel of fakery all over it, yacking it up to be viral and hip on the radio. Shut up and play some damn music.

I mean, better to fuck a girl who look like she's 14 than an actual 14 year old, right? 😓

Spoil me bro because fuck their first week sales. The only games I'm buying new are Witcher 3 and The Phantom Pain. Other than that, everything else can wait til December when it's $20.

That and GTA V because I actually waited all the way up until the PC launch to get the game at all.

Just found that Black Twitter subreddit thread. I didn't even know that subreddit existed.

Anyway, I can understand the difficulty in telling what jokes are laughing with or laughing at. The main thing I'm thinking about in that thread is how these jokes have finally gone "mainstream" after all this time.

Yeah, that's why I didn't come down like a hammer or anything. Just enough to get people to think a bit, if at all.

its funny how mainstream ruins shit. it was funny until everyone including the guy at the bank and the girl at Dollar Tree are laughing at it. Then it has you going 'woah..wait...do they get it like I do, are the keen to the references, are they just laughing at "buffoonery" in general? It's not as much fun now that I have to think about the shit and wonder.' Like the idea that white people are parodying black people and sitting at the bank and at Dollar Tree making these things up during their lunch breaks....shit can still be funny-ish, but suddenly no longer as fun.

And then you fly to Africa for awhile to figure this all out without telling anyone.

I have a dilemma, bct. It is my poor ability to express what my opinions are in writing and vocally(my speaking ability concerns me too). This problem also makes it harder to participate in debates that actually interest me or just normal conversation. English and Portuguese are the two languages that I know with different levels fluency in each category of proficiency. I have a little bit of knowledge Latin, and definitely more than I remember from both French and Spanish classes.
With English being my current language that Im comfortable with for the majority of my life and education, I still have trouble with it. Right now being in my mid 20s and having a decent English foundation, I figured that I only want to be partially fluent because of programming and then want to focus on Portuguese so that I can also understand better, speak and write better with my family and other friends globally. Run-on sentence for sure.

I don't know what to do. I have done research here and there, but I need help with both languages. With English, I may have to stay in the states a little longer for my programming skills to mature. With Portuguese, I have not decided that a tutor is what I need. Im also self- teaching myself with help from others. It isnt enough. Also thought about learning by full exposure by just goimg to portugal. Since I have been raised in a Luso-african household all my life, where my parents speak to me in Portuguese and I don't in return(sometimes I do), ...well you know where I'm going basically. The usual immigrant child who forgets their language after years of being in the US.

I am what they call a third-culture kid, who has also lived in 3 continents. I want to maintain what I have. I don't want to lose it. My dilemma.

probably best just to expose yourself to a lot of different speaking styles and speech\thought organizational patterns. like a discussion/debate group where you listen and speak and try different ways to persuade your argument, etc.

Seems interesting. I need to take it step-by-step in this whole process. Its difficult to enlarge my horizons. Exciting and daunting at the same time. Doing my best to stay away from debt.

Edit-the word enlarge needs to be changed to enhance or broaden. Ain't trying to sound dirty.

Do what makes you feel well rounded.

Personally I think English is the language of commerce.. And commerce is what makes the world go round.

i forgot you mentioned that in the last thread. sorry.

So the Gaf cycle for the Order begins.

Hype -> vehement defense force based on two clips of game footage -> walkthroughs and other media start surfacing -> age of doubt -> people discuss lore since there's not any gameplay to talk about and defend it as the citizen kane 2: rosebud's day off of videogames -> no people of color / werewolves don't change history that much, guise debates -> "maybe there'll be some in the DLC!" -> DLC snippets surface -> repeat

"They aren't based on Victorian London, they're based on the Knights of the Round Table! And I mean, there were no black Knights of the Round!"

I think I might actually modify one of my dudes a bit to take some cues from Morien since they both have a similar "black as their armor" thing going. My dude's more "black guy with a red-velvet reverse-albinism" than a 37 on the JC Scale, though.

Can you guys recommend any artists similar to Carpenter Brut? I've been listening to his stuff non-stop lately for inspiration, and it's especially helpful because he relies extensively on u-he synths just like I do. Diva moreso than Zebra2, but I definitely heard some Ligetimat in part II of Invasion A.D.
