I hope you're right, but I don't see people signing up. Then again, it entirely depends on price. Something like 30$ a year isn't too too bad. but 60? Ninty can kick rocks

Im more upset they repeated the same bullshit with the Wii U, what the fuck are Ninty dev working on? They couldn't allocate 2 teams to have launch ready software and let the rest do their thing?

Ended up pre-ordering the Switch just in case.

But I have no idea what I'd play on it for who knows how long, because I really rather not buy BoTW for Switch, unless it's vastly superior framerate-wise. Mario ain't till the holidays, I don't like Arms enough to spend my cash on it, and no clue when Xenoblade is coming either lol

That picture you posted is sacrilege....you have offended me and I will see you on these streets.

I'm not the type to beat brand new long games in a week so they last quite a while for me. Zelda alone will keep me busy for a good minute

The sad thing is this is actually "decent" for Nintendo in comparison to their other consoles/the DS portables. But you'd "think" with all those Wii U games no one played, Nintendo would have just ported a bunch of those over to fill in the gaps.

Man, I came in with low expectations. I didn't get in on the NS curiousity until just before Nintendo officially announced the thing, but I was really interested in Zelda and the possibility of Pokemon. So I came in hopeful and ...

... What is Nintendo thinking?!

The console price is off, they're competing with a stronger Xbox One S and more importantly a MUCH stronger Playstation 4 Slim. Storage is paltry is also paltry.

The accessories racket is MADNESS. Joy-Con's can't charge on the shipped grip, gotta buy one, WHAT.

Paid online? Alright, I get it, fine. I don't want it, but whatever. But apparently you're going to lock core functionality like voice chat behind an app? WHAT.

I mean, I've never owned a Nintendo console nor have I cared to until this point, but all this screams "WE REALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT BEING COMPETITIVE, LIKE, AT ALL."

I'm thinking that this is the way to go. At least there are games there and a system that isn't buggered right out of the box. I'm looking forward to those Switch UI and social feature lock meltdowns. Maybe they'll put em all in that app. :D

Honestly, I have no problem with the $300 price tag. However, if they wanted 1,2 Swith to be a system seller like Wii Sports, it needed to be a pack in. All the accessories are $10 too much and they haven't shown enough of their new online services to justify paid online.

Honestly, if they had just showed more games, I think general impressions would have been ok. Where is the GC Virtual Console (Melee with online would have been huge)? Where is Smash? Even if its a bit off its not like they didn't show other games that were far off too. They need to show more games and detail in full their release schedule for the rest of 2017. As Kreed said, with enough good games a lot of gamers can come around to justify anything to themselves. But the games need to be there. I still think the idea of the Switch sounds awesome - especially as someone who is primarily a handheld gamer. But I don't think Nintendo brought their A game last night. The Switch video last year was AWESOME. They didn't need to be fumbling now just before launch.

Blame that on battery technology in general, not Nintendo. Battery technology has kind of hit a wall and its going to be hard to get past it.

I hope the switch becomes a success with the casual audience if only because I remember how pissed gamers were about the Wii doing so well. Nintendo not needing gamers to make tons of money had folks all over the internet so pressed and it was amazing.

Also, I'm digging that new Bomberman game.

I'm not particularly blaming Nintendo in this scenario, but considering there's no successor to the 3DS and its effective replacement is this tablet with eh life, there lies my issue. Not like they've given me a viable alternative since the Switch is now a family/home console first.

I had to double take when I saw the trailer on Nintendo's youtube this morning. I'm legit shocked it's back

I can't play Zelda games without feeling compelled to whine about how Link is clearly conversing with other characters and the player just can't see his speech. They need to take notes from Doom.

reminds me of how when Microsoft had the gold games on one hanging around for two months until 360 BC started because otherwise they would have given away the entire One catalog
