Like I said they know people will pay for it regardless.
You know they will. I am waiting for the "I am selling my launch switch after finish Zelda" threads
Of course they will. We've seen enough console launches with "controversial" features, Nintendo and otherwise, to know not to take initial reactions serious. As long as the games are there (the biggest problem for Nintendo), gamers will get used to it and eventually defense forces will be made/they will praise it.
Yeah but that group keeps getting smaller and smaller.Like I said they know people will pay for it regardless.
Yo did you see that thread along the lines of "I'm glad Nintendo stuff doesn't go down in price, it's like an investment."
Lmao people are going to buy multiple switches to diversify their investment portfolio
Paid online has become commonplace for long enough that I don't really consider it to be controversial. I usually treat my Nintendo consoles as a single player or local multiplayer experience so it probably won't matter to me until Mario Kart and Smash.
Hmmm, not sureLike I said they know people will pay for it regardless.
Full disclosure I almost brought a life size replica of Captain America's shield last week.

Knowing the fanbase Nintendo has, do you guys think people will just buy into the online and largely keep quiet like when Sony adopted PS+ as the key to using their online service? I dunno.
When you got the coins, do what you do
I holding out for a Protocide versionBut why almost
How much? Not gonna lie, seems like something cool to hang out the wall

Man Nintendo is charging online but it won't have voice chat the system it's self. I'm stil day 1 because I'm a Nintendo mark, but shiiieeeet Nintendo on pure fuckery mode.
Add to that the fact that the Ps Plus style free games on offer seem to be just month long rentals of old-ass games
What? No. Really? That can't be right..

yep, you get one NES OR SNES game to play for a month they take it away
I was pretty surprised smash wasn't shown off, even a port would have gotten people a bit more hyped.

Hurt my shoulder, somehow, when cleaning up the kitchen yesterday night.
I should've known that living like a slob would be better.
You're crazy

I mean compared to ni no kuni it just so bad. And the new zelda is eh.
This is the only disappointing news of last night to me. This shit better be no more than 20 bucks a year cause retro game rentals aren't gonna cut it.The problem with Nintendo's service is that the value proposition is so damn low. It's not like there are tons of games to play online in the first place, so it's basically just a monthly fee to play Splatoon 2 for the foreseeable future. Add to that the fact that the Ps Plus style free games on offer seem to be just month long rentals of old-ass games, and the fact that most communication features apparently have to go through an external phone app, and I have no idea how they're going to justify this.

No more trading in Pokemon. No more battling. No more wonder trading. Maybe no event only mons. I just need Game Freak to come out and say they are exempt from it.
They prob did lolNintendo fans constantly telling people that power and graphics don't matter. Then buy the Wii U lol I kid
- 300$ Base Price
- 80$ Controllers
- Paid Online for a company that BARELY adds online to their games let alone had a shoddy ass system when it was free
- Bony ass launch lineup when they fucked this up from Wii -> Wii U last gen
The negatives of this system are ridiculous. IDK how someone let this slide.
Is it me or is Ninty's online player count gonna drop off a fckin CLIFF due to paid online... What the hell were they thinking.... We gonna see player counts in the hundreds in some games now... Damn
I wanted this system for Pokemon and Smash. Those games are pretty much useless without online. I haven't even resubbed to PS+ on my PS4 yet, why the hell would Nintendo think Im gonna pay for online for 2 games. This really sucks ass
Not the best launch but there's just enough to keep me playing all year. Helps that the most ambitious Zelda game ever is launching with it.
Yeah, that's biggest weakness of the system right now. Not enough system sellers but Zelda Mario and Splatoon 2 are heavy hitters spread out through the year. Could of use some big 3rd party exclusives. Like where the hell is Capcom with a monster hunter game? I would have been excited for a upres version of Double Cross even. Square Enix support boils down to a retro style rpg which looks nice but that's not gonna get people to buy the system. I would have went for a 3rd bravely game. Namco and Sega just got ports. It's almost like 3rd parties are being really cautious with the systemThat is one bare bones launch.
