I haven't played a Zelda game since the N64 days. That trailer had me hype, though. Everything else was meh. Mario looked really barebones to me for some reason.

Remake of a 26 year old game (Street Fighter 2) for $40 AND you have to pay for online play

What in the entire FUCK is Nintendo doing?

Switch conference was frustrating. Half the time I was like "FUCK YES!" and the rest of the time I was like "WHAT THE FUCK?"

I wasn't getting at launch anyway (March will be busy for me) but still :/

Disappointed by the switch presentation.

- Price higher than I wanted it to be
- Paid online is fucking garbage
- no system sellers at launch
- I still need more info and specifics.

Nintendo can't sell consumers on "potential". Your software has to be there day one.

I mean, Zelda will sell systems for their core audience. Ain't shit to buy between launch and the holidays though.

It doesn't look like Sonic '06. It reminds me of Sonic Adventure at the most, but generally it looks more like a Rareware platformer.

I mean, 06 was meant to be Sonic mixed in with a next-gen "real world", which was what the Adventure series did also try to do, you are right. Somehow, the cartoony chaos mixed with realistic environments is working wonders for Mario.

Platinum did with Scalebound...

Must've been a lot of regrettable Xbone buys...

Am i crazy? I think the art direction of the new zelda is crap. Those character models are horrid.
They ain't got time to make graphics and design at the college level

Also Keeping Up With The Jones' is a good movie. It's like if that Tina Fey + Steve carell if it was good and funny at times

Damn, they better announce more games. How do you let EA stands on stage but they won't announce madden yet. I haven't played madden for 10 years but it's crazy it's not on the schedule. Fifa and NBA but not football? That lineup is so sparse, i might buy madden if it was available. I'll certainly check out that no more heroes.

And where is my monster hunter? That'll take care of all my problems. Two handed, motion controls? Portable and TV? And I'm cool with just a port now of generations G class. Don't make me buy one for the 3ds and turn around and try and sell me one 9 months later on switch.

Switch to PS 4, as the kids will say.

The biggest fumble on Nintendo's part is the lack of launch title announcements at this conference IMO. At a "minimum", this looks to be the Wii launch all over again with a Zelda port being the feature game along with their "tech demo" title (1 2 Switch should be bundled with it).

Otherwise, while all the online/controller/price/etc... complaints are hilarious, as long as Nintendo gets the right games out (ex: Non spin-off Pokemon), most of the people complaining will still buy it and everything else.

I got a pre-order in. I'll decide if I keep it or not soon enough.

Morning BCT family

If I can't make a party and invite people to it without having to be in a game, I don't give a shit about their online service.

Knowing the fanbase Nintendo has, do you guys think people will just buy into the online and largely keep quiet like when Sony adopted PS+ as the key to using their online service? I dunno.

I don't know to be honest. Everything else disappointing about Nintendo sounds like stuff their fans would eat and defend. But paying for online feature is one of the things Nintendo fans would mention to argue against the other consoles.

You know they will. I am waiting for the "I am selling my launch switch after finish Zelda" threads

Good to see that Michael Jackson nonsense was canceled.

Of course they will. We've seen enough console launches with "controversial" features, Nintendo and otherwise, to know not to take initial reactions serious. As long as the games are there (the biggest problem for Nintendo), gamers will get used to it and eventually defense forces will be made/they will praise it.
