The first. I haven't seen the second, and I'm not going to seek it out.
He has a slightly better design. Vaan is alright though, it's way in the background but he has some decent development in the first half or so of the main story.
It's just that he and Penelo are completely superfluous after a short while.
More people need to check out Revenant Wings.
