Nothing that is running currently could fill its shoes. Which is why I believe it's still running.
Naruto is in the same boat. Nothing else has naruto's international appeal and it doesn't look like anything ever will for the foreseeable future.
Which is why I believe that series is still around looooong after Kishimoto has lost any and all passion he once had for it. It's like he's given bullet points by higher ups and just meets all of them with zero effort towards having them make sense.

Nintendo has such a wildly diverse catalog that I can't see an honest consumer (particularly not one on GAF) being able to made the sweeping generalization of disliking Nintendo games in general. That'd be like saying you dislike movies and TV in general.

The fact that Vita is mentioned in the same sentence as a home console is a W for Sony. They're still selling the Wii U and didn't scrap it because they can't afford to take the L. The market for $40 handheld games is drying up and this is proof. The Vita is doing great in Japan. It's not doing that bad in America.
However, for the price of a Vita I can buy a tablet.
