I traded in a GLE AMG last year on a MDX Advance. Love it. A good family car, if you know what I'm saying. Hint hint.

I've always been in love with the V8 QX80 / Patrol, and the LX 570. This may be the next car when the time comes.

Yea he it featured in top gear multiple times and he wrote an article about after he decided to get rid of it. It was just far too big for British roads. One scene that made me laugh was they had the car parked beside another car typical of spacing in uk car parks and asked Jeremy to get in. But because of the design of the doors having that extra bit for the roof, it was impossible for him. So he tried getting in by basically going prone and dragging himself in but was impossible 😂 It looked amazing to drive though. Owning one America would have been great I imagine. Sound of the engine etc.

In USA, tariffs comin acha. Some brands are holding off on implementing for a few weeks. Buy or lease one now before the price hike.
 
My daily is a 1994 Ford f150 4x4, 64k original miles. Bought it bone stock last year from a one owner. 4inch BDS lift and 35 inch tires riding on original factory 15 inch rims. Smooth ride that will go anywhere I need to go.
Wish I had the coin to buy the RS6 Avant. That thing looks amazing and is right up my alley.
Also looking at 2015 Ford Transit for a DIY van conversion or a 2008 Sprinter, but haven't driven any of them yet. I was looking through Campervan Interior Ideas and would like to build something similar.

What is with the big spoiler on the back lmao... sorry dude, Im not into cars, so when I see that kind of car I just think of ricers and loud poppy bangy noises on the highway. Explain it to me like I'm 5 why a car in 2025 needs that sticking on it
 
I passed my test in 2015 so I could drive at my factory job, left in 2019 and still never bothered to get a car. I haven't driven on the road since passing my test.. 🤦‍♂️

Should probably brush up and get a run-around at some point soon.

So basically it's the same story as people that tried to "improve" the BRZ/FRS by upgrading the engine about 10 years ago? (I saw one youtube video where the guy did some upgrades since 200hp/150lbft was just too low. I think it was either a turbo or super charger. Yeah he basically turned it into a really unreliable car.)

Not sure about that car but yeah it did become very unreliable and I really didn't drive it that hard

I personally loved the Prowler but it was a total dog with that V6

That car could do everything. Track day, Costco, while still being great in the snow with the LSD front diff. Then my second kid was planned, and COVID inflated trade in values, so it was time to move on to:

The Atlas has been everything the MS3 wasn't- slow, big couch comfy, and space for days. The older me appreciates the Atlas and its been rock solid reliable so far. Its AWD system actually keeps the rear wheels engaged full time which is noticeable in the snow.

The main raceway is Mid-Ohio. About an hour north of me.
I need to track it this summer, get my monies worth LOL.

I'd also love to take down to North Carolina/ Tennessee to The Tail of the Dragon highway, but man I've seen YT videos and people wreking their cars which I would cry if that happened.

I know it looks crazy, but it's a glorified race legal track car. The spoiler is for downforce as is with crazy body kit on it. It's meant to be tracked and has the record at the nuremburg track in Germany ( or it did last year)

Tail of the Dragon is amazing fun but yeah there is even the tree of shame for wrecked vehicles/bikes at the end of it

Sadly you come across too many soccer moms driving their massive SUVs to usually get to enjoy the ride too often

Mid-Ohio is a great track and there are some other notable venues on the East Coast you could visit.

Are you an experienced driver or are you just getting into the HPDE world?
 
I think I'm done with my car now. Yes its a 2008 with a 2025 front bumper conversion. I've also done that to the tail lights.

The stretch on the the front tire bothers me a great deal so going to switch to 275/30R19 tire in the front to better match the 285/30R19 in the rear. No there's no wax or ceramic coating on here yet. The old coating wore off some months ago. Looking to apply a new ceramic coating to it in the near future.

Got a 2014 F150 5.0 after owning an EV for 5 years. I'll never go back to EV. Not unless the batteries become reasonably priced to replace.
 
So don't laugh at me for the question I am about to ask

So my FX4 in my name comes from it was always my favorite package to add to an F150 and being a larger guy at 6'8" I have always drive large vehicles.

The question is what do people think of the Maverick?

I ask because my so and his wife came to visit and their rental was a Maverick and I kind of always made fun of them but after running around in Miami in that thing I actually really liked it, especially how well it gets around

It was a blue Tremor just like this, I kind of want one now

I only recently (6 months?) started seeing these for the first time. There are a couple in the pickup line at my kid's school. I know nothing about them, but I assumed it's the new name for what used to be the Ranger?

I always thought the Ranger was a notch above "meh" on the coolness scale. Back in the 90's I knew a couple of teenagers who tricked them out with paint/vinyl wraps, camper shells with carpet in the bed, big aftermarket stereos, custom wheels, etc. I thought some of that was tacky and lame, but it could be tastefull.

I think the idea of "if it's not a full size pickup that can tow or haul heavy things, it's a poser-mobile!" was true years ago. But these days with the bigger pickup trucks having mostly turned into luxury and status vehicles, I think that's no longer relevant. Also, that's basically the entire reason the SUV market exists these days, right? My primary car is a Q60S because I like sporty coupes with stick transmission. But I keep an '04 Pilot with 200k miles because it's just so convenient to run to the hardware store.

Side Note: The S10 and Dakota were well below "meh" on the coolness scale. Only the Ranger managed to be above average. I have no idea why that is.

Ford still has the Ranger that I think is a little larger than the Maverick

I mostly ever use my truck for hauling corn out to my deer feeders or maybe hauling trash, I no longer own a boat or tow anything of weight anymore

I was shocked how much room the Maverick actually had as I was decently comfy at my size though I would not really want to travel in it

I sure don't really consider this Mav any kind of cool thats for sure but after looking at pricing for something fully decked I have to admit I am kind of impressed
 
Love the rangers and mavericks, I would buy one if they did a 2 door version as this would be my ideal vehicle for daily use and camping/fishing.

Pretty much my point of view screw what other people like. If you like it that's fine and it's comfortable for you that's all that really matters. (I guess being in my 50s has turned me into a bit of a curmudgeon.)
