What are peoples impressions on this netflix attempt to make a christmas classic. Watched it last week with the wife. Personally I didnt love it or hate it. Was definitely a more modern adventure, but overall found it to be mediocre. Wasnt too attached to any characters or story. Thought it lacked a lot of holiday themes and aesthetic. And that weird ass prison music concert was just down right awful.
What stood out to me was the vfx, coming from that industry i can tell where they spent their budget. While not AAA hollywood level, it certainly was batting at a way higher average than what the rest of the film was hitting.
Didnt find kurt russel or goldie hawn as good portrayals of mr/mrs claus.
Enjoyed the magic procured by saint nick though.
The elves were hit and miss for me. Theyre definitely hoping they take off i think as a minion esque character.
Same old modern day hollywood rubbish film imo. Produced with a business mindset behind it and not the heart and love that went into other christmas classics.
Whats all of your opinions on it if youve checked it out already.
