Ah I see the blue and black now.
What finally did it for me was scrolling the page down slowly on my phone, slowly showing the bottom first. The sheen on the top is what keeps on triggering the white/gold state in my mind.

The worst part is that this image isn't about interpretation either. It's a subconscious thing.
People who haven't seen the switch will keep arguing what it really is etc. I can't wait until it is common knowledge that it switches.
I see it on my monitor as light blue and dark brown, but I know from experience that the pic is completely blown out and that the dress itself is royal blue and black.
Yeah. I took a screen of it a few pages ago -- one person saw blue and the other white and gold. I def saw white and gold when I took the screen - now I see it as black and blue and can't go back.

I can totally understand people seeing gold in the black. It does have a gold tint to it but thats because it's a completely shitty camera. I've taken plenty of photos of black things that come out gold because of the lighting and horrible sensors.
But the blue being white? That's where your eyes are broken. It's clearly blue even in that shitty photograph. No amount of squinting in the world could make it white at all.
The part that surprises me is how many of you are saying you keep seeing it differently as time goes on. That to me seems like a medical problem people should get checked.
Also, I'm really sad that Taylor Swift knows it's blue and black, but Nathan Fillion thinks it's white and gold. How could you Nathan?

While I understand there are lots of blue pixels on the right image, it still looks like a white and gold dress, just in poor lighting.
Oddly enough, it still looks black and blue here, just with really messed up blacks. The actual color you see is gold though.

Holy crap! This is rubbish and trickery! It's white and gold as soon as I open it and then it turns blue and black as soon as I scroll down to read the reason. Im looking at it at the same time with my bf and we see diff colors. It keeps changing colors for me! This is nuts!!

Then I went back to GAF and it's blue and black.
My head exploded.

I really don't think I'm going to change. I've spent too much time doing color correction that these kinds of illusions are lost on me. Maybe if the picture was taken outdoors with a blue sky as a backdrop, then I could see the blue as being white, but that's not the case here. This pic looks like is was taken under a tungsten halogen lamp at a clothing store.
That is the exact same dress in both pictures. The same one.
I was wrong about the equation I apologize.

PRAISE JESUS. I WAS BLIND BUT NOW I SEE.
I just did that and it changed to blue and black. Scrolled up the page from the bottom of the dress slowly. Top of the dress still looks kind of gold though.
It will, and when it does, you will realise that your colour correct experience means nothing.
I can switch between them every few minutes now. It's really amazing.

It didn't "change", your brain just finally made sense of a bad picture. Like you're conscious of the fact that it's a digital picture with bad lighting and exposure issues now.
