ok cool so its activated meaning....?

I believe you did your job with those coordinates. It switches to that pixel over to The Joker's underneath. It's how mine was too after I submitted.

also any word on when the trailer/teaser is supposed to be released?

any movie that its being attached to?

I thought I read somewhere that Order of the Phoenix is going to have the teaser attached to it, but it might've just been a rumor...

yeah i guess more likely with a Warner Bros production.

btw how long have they been shooting for? 2 months? they already have enough for a trailer?

It's a teaser, there are no footage apparently.

Less than 2. For all we know, they could just release a digital 15-20 second teaser featuring no footage. Just title cards, text, and and something interesting visually. I'd prefer a late late summer teaser though featuring actual footage of just Bruce Wayne vaguely, emotionally setting up the sequel, maybe an iconic shot or two of Batman. Bring the focus back to him after the Joker hoopla. Something like Begins teaser - though that was still hiding Batman.

Now... I wanna see that face smile. Ledger's freakishly large grin + that makeup and those scars =

:o true dat. his grin is quite wide

:D love it!

That is a masterfully disgusting face he's got there.

Much <3 for Nicholson's acting, but I always thought his Joker looked a little too...clowny? He stood out too much. I like the understated, dark greens that they've used for some of the promo posters.

This is some awesome marketing. I love the way the Joker looks - very creepy and demented, and I'm surprised Warner would allow Joker to look this far out there.

Can't wait for the film. Staying away from spoilers and the like is going to be a monumentally hard task for the next year.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but will the new Batman films have that female jester thingy with the red and black outfit as Joker's sidekick? I forget her name.

Oh man, so close.

Harley Quinn. Doubt it. She worked beautifully for the animated series but she really wouldn't fit in these films.

Harley Quinn? Naw, I doubt it. Too...cartoony. Even though she's a great character, I doubt Nolan would care as much as some of the fans do.

So can we surmise that only half of his face is scarred? It looks that way to me. On the right half it looks pretty normal and painted, but the left is all ****ed up and mutilated.

No, it's just uneven. The right half is screwed up too, just closer to his cheekbone.

i have to say that tdk's joker looks far more interesting and ****ed up (in a good way) than jack nicholson's joker.

Yeah, disliking the look of a villain in a ****ing Batman movie definitely determines if I'm a loser or not.:lol Get a grip Francis.

I'm not offended, I think it's funny. its not surprising considering people conditioned themselves into loving every little piece of whatever they saw before the movies' title was even released.

So I take it you're always on the negative side of things 24/7?

Looks like a bit of influence was taken from the first Joker appearance. The dark eyes namely. Probably a black/greenish hair instead of cartoony green. Interesting comparison.

:lol for ****s sake. Disliking the look of the joker is not a statement on who I am. It simply means I dislike the look of the Joker. There's no need to search for an excuse to brush my opinion to the side. You can ignore it just because it's nothing more than another opinion.

I was right about Superman, and you know it.

Let them complain. They'll bitch about things until they're blue in the face and there's nothing you can do to make them intelligent.

And having a devil may cry avatar definitely counteracts other people's claims as well, I'm sure.

I'm not batman fanboy (I didn't even get into Begins too much), but what's the point of posting shit in a thread that adds nothing but vitriol?

Yes, but there's also people conditioned to dislike the look before even a glimpse is shown. And considering how little you actually thought of Joker to begin with, "The Joker is a loud/goofy guy in a loud/goofy purple suit.", I'm not suprised you're not going to like a Joker aimed at a very different audience.

Right about what? Routh was awesome as Supes and Clark.

Suit looked fine in the movie.

Movie was better than Spidey 3,hope Willco is crying about that comedy.

FTW

I'll given Nolan the benefit of the doubt on this.

I still don't like the Batman suit in BB ... but it didn't stop me from enjoying BB at all. I'm curious to see a different take on the Joker character.

And yes, it does look like his face has been cut open by a batarang.

Since when do you only go into threads to post how much you love something? Is this Bizarro world or something? I've been reading this thread from the beginning, but I only felt compelled to post when I saw something that I disliked. My DMC avatar has as much to do with my posts as your white stripes avatar has to do with yours. But if you dislike Dante's look, I'm not gonna say you're wrong.

Eh, the Joker is not my favorite villain, but I still see that as an accurate summation of who he is. I've read the same books and novels you have, and I think the Joker is goofy because of his appearance and sense of humor. He was goofy in The Killing Joke, and goofy in BTAS. That doesn't mean he's ineffective, or that I think little of him. He's a twisted clown that kills people, where is the wrong in that?

But you know, we really don't have to argue about my opinion here.

I'm not casting judgment yet, but for whatever reason, I think my tolerance for a drastic reimagining of the Joker isn't very high. Giving him a gross mutie freak makeover, at the moment, doesn't sit right. But I'll reserve judgment until we get better, more representative shots.

I don't know. I think my favorite thing about this whole unveiling is the way they've done it. The cards, the website. I really dig getting right into his kind of mischief and nailing that "joker" aspect right away. Really gets me excited seeing the photo in that context. Wouldn't be suprised if there's more to the image once all the pixels finish.

The animated series had the best Joker ever.
I agree one thousand percent. Just imagine if they'd have let him get away with killing. (They kinda did in Return of the Joker). And J2 Cool, that unveiling seems more like something the Riddler would do.

Lee Bermejo on the Joker:

"The most interesting thing about the Joker for me was always the mystery that surrounded the character. He is a bit like Hannibal Lector in the sense that it isn't so important in SILENCE OF THE LAMBS to know where he came from. It's what he IS that makes the character amazing. In many respects, The Joker is a serial killer. His profile fits perfectly and I'm really hoping that Nolan and Goyer play him more as such instead of going for the over the top, comedic opportunities they approached the Joker with in the 1989 BATMAN.

Visually, I like the idea of the character being played a lot darker and more disturbing as well. It's difficult to realistically explain why the guy would have a huge grin on his face all the time. This is why I came up with the idea to actually scar his face to mirror the Joker smile. I remember seeing some police photos of the Black Dhalia and being genuinely disturbed by how her face was cut to look like a killer smile. After all, if this character was truly a crazy maniac why wouldn't he do this to himself? Add a little smeared lipstick, white face paint, and purple eye-shadow and you have yourself one demented looking dude. I also gave him some scarring around the eyes to mirror clown makeup a little more. I don't know about you, but clowns have always been a bit scary to me (the John Wayne Gacey angle doesn't help). As far as clothing, maybe push the character a little more in the Tyler Durden direction. Give him a wardrobe that could be a little over the top but not look completely fabricated and silly."

Plus, I hope there is only one villain in this movie, the Joker needs a whole movie to himself.

Anyway I didn't like Batman Begins (other than the character himself). I don't have high hopes for this one either:/
