.......are you sure you went to see a Batman movie? :lol
Well, the hero was a man who went on search of inner peace and a way to deal with the rage inside of him. Travelling the world, he was taken in by a mysterious organisation who offered to teach him the ancient and secret ways of their clan, turning him from a man into an unstoppable symbol of justice. After many years of arduous training in this secret enclave he learned how to fight and how to manipulate his opponents into believing he was almost supernatural and returned to the world ready to fight for freedom and justice. Which he did, after choosing a suitable symbol and preparing a secret hideout.
After which he fought a twisted scientist who used exotic chemicals to turn people's minds with PURE FEAR, who in turn was manipulated by:
The self same secret organisation who trained the hero. The evil kingpin's plan consisted of stealing an amazing instrument to absorb water, loading it on a monorail, and take it through the city's streets to crash it into a building. Yes, to steal an amazing instrument to absorb water, loading it on a monorail, and take it through the city's streets to crash it into a building.
Leading the hero on a frantic chase through the city, after rescuing the damsel in distress/love interest, to meet his nemesis on the speeding monorail- The Man Who Trained Then Betrayed Him!
As opposed to TDK's joker, who's entire plan seemed to be, "Let's kill Batman and fuck things up to reduce everybody to our level". And it just about worked.
What I mean to say is that the first film is about costumed people doing outragous things, like x-men, superman, spiderman etc. But the second isn't really about that at all. It's a much deeper film that says a lot more. I really enjoyed BB for what it was, but TDK is another thing altogether. So where will they go with a third? I don't know, there's not much more they can do to Bruce!
