to add to that

Setting were all max, Some odd fps drops and pretty high vram usage.

Does it look as good as E3?

No. No game ever does, But I went and pre ordered it this morning as its great game.

Yup....knew it was too good to be true....Ubi going to Ubi. Getting PS4 is easy choice now with all my friends there.

if all your friends are on PS4, it should have been the choice anyway, really.
60fps and better graphics don't really help when you can't play with your friends XD

I have NeoGAF!!~!!!!

There will be plenty to play on here with that won't quit on me three weeks in lol

ooooook, so....PC then

I'm not sure yet.....I want to see outside of framerate how much of an improvement the game will be over the PS4 version lol.

The more I stare at those screens though.....the more it looks like the private test this weekend....wasn't actually the Beta client. But an in house test version where half the options are turned off.

Yes because I doubt any of my friends are going to pick this up. I am hoping the story mode will be decent.

My main concern is the dark zones or whatever they're called and getting griefed by other players. At least with Destiny it's easy to avoid PvP but in this, the dark zones seem like a big chunk of the game.

From what I've played, I gather that you only go into the Dark Zone for PvP so it should be ok outside of it.

you can't just stumble into the Dark Zone...there are doors/entrances you have to physically interact with to enter

Oh ok. Interesting.

The developers have said in a video that when you reach the highest level, the entire dark zone becomes one big high level bracket (no more low levels for you) and all enemies in the dark zone get replaced with high level elites and such.

So basically, the entire dark zone becomes an endgame area with fantastic loot, hard enemies AND the possibility of random co-op AND PvP.

It's like a great version of DayZ basically.

Y'know, if Bungie doesn't end up releasing new Destiny content this year, The Division can end up doing very well for itself by filling that void, especially if expansions are released in a timely manner.

This is, of course, assuming that there's enough content in the vanilla release.

Dark Zone is PvE against high level enemies also.
The random PvP is just the icing on the cake.
There wouldn't happen to be a way to disable PvP in the Dark Zone, would there?

No way we know of and hopefully it doesn't exist.

Dark Zone seems too small for the game that was advertised from the start but oh well, hopefully it gets expanded in the future.

No, but you don't have to enter the zone if you don't want to.

Dark Zones are created as a PvP high-tier loot area to add additional challenge to the game and to interact with other players. It has a high risk vs reward-yield, but if you don't want to partake in pvp you don't have to.

The Dark Zone is 1/4 if not almost 1/3 of the map.
It probably has subways underneath it too and it has building rooftops you can run across.
It seems pretty damn big to me.

No and it wouldn't be the same without it.

Well if that's the case, I hope the Dark Zone isn't the only high level content available.

They said it is not.

I also don't understand why people are so afraid of the Dark Zone.
You know you're not gonna get shanked from behind on your couch when you go in there, right?

You just do the same thing as in the rest of the game: Walk around, shoot enemies, grab loot. It only adds the chopper extraction stuff.
And high level players can't even fuck you up,cause the dark zone is split into brackets for player levels and max lvl players get entirely put into the special, full scale max level Dark Zone.

Seriously, people are so afraid XD

And this is exactly why I don't really care if there are raids in this game. The whole extracting of high level loot you just got from a high level elite sounds just as exciting as killing a raid boss for the first time, except now every extraction is going to feel like the first time because of the human element in play.

Damn, those PC max setting screenshots. Quite a downgrade there.

Ah well, that was expected. Still waiting on the 29th so I can try the PS4 version and see how it plays.

I'm not gonna believe any screenshots of the game until the release version runs on my PC in front of me on the highest settings.

Then I'll give my verdict how it looks.

I'll point to the Witcher 3 "bugged ultra settings" fiasco before it released.

Perhaps the devs themselves are to blame for that with the moronic E3 2015 demo where a group enters the Dark Zone, gets help from another group but then decide to fuck over this group by killing them and stealing their loot, and then have the main player fuck over his own group by team killing everyone and steal their loot as well.

It's interesting how the gameplay demo they officially released has the part where the player betrays and kills everyone cut out.

Or maybe some people prefer to play solo?

You could go into the darkzone solo.

i'd love it if the reality is just some guy waltzing into a desolate dark zone with no players, popping off a few AI guys and extracting with some great loot lol

And you can still play solo, you can just fight NPCs that act differently aka human players.
Turn off voice chat and there you go.

The DZ can be played alone too, maybe is not the best way or the way to get the most of it but people should be grateful for the fact you can enter and play solo.
Sure, but I'd still be at a disadvantage if I ran into a group of actual players. An option to opt out of PvP would have been great.
Anyhow, it's not a dealbreaker.

you're in a disadvantage if you run into a high level NPC group too ;)

humans are just NPCs with different AI son.

I still haven't found out what happens if you take your Dark Zone loot and just walk back out instead of calling a helicopter.

Does it go away?

Has it been confirmed that there are seperate brackets for player levels? The only confirmation I had read was that at level 30 the DZ changes. The interviews from last week suggest the Dark Zone was a continous area where as you go from the South to the North the enemies get progressively stronger. That would suggest there isn't any level bracketing before hitting level 30.

Blame is a weird word. I think it's better that the Devs showcased that possibility as it prepares players for the possibility. If you're grouped with friends, like most people are in MP games, then you shouldn't have to worry about betrayal. However showcasing that it *can* happen lets the playerbase know that it's a possibility in PUGS.

People would be far more pissed off if they didn't know it could happen and the playerbase figured it out once the game went live and people started getting betrayed.

Yea that's definitely not The Division I remember but hey its just the graphics. If the game plays as well as say Destiny meaning the moment to moment gunplay is REALLY good, then it has a chance. It also needs to have a good amount of PVE content to keep people interested in the long term, so hopefully once its out they start drip feeding future content to keep people looking forward to something.

I did hear rumors about input lag and clunky-ness in one of the threads on Gaf but I don't remember if anyone proved it true or not. That could be make or break for me, oh and screen tearing. It better not be there on the PS4 version.

There is also a video by some youtuber explaining the dark zone and showing the brackets on the map.

just watch the Angry Joe video...once he gets into the Dark Zone it says DZ Player Bracket 1-14 at the top left

Those brackets are general leveling brackets like you see as you travel from Zone to Zone in any MMO. It tells the player what level PvE enemies to expect in the area. That doesn't mean it limits players in that area to that level bracket.

Why are they called "player bracket" are only shown in the dark zone AND the devs+youtubers said those brackets exist?
