The Division Beta Thread: Make Manhattan Great Again

I'd like it if the game gave you regular xp inside of the dark zone as well. I don't want to leave the zone to lvl up to use certain items.

Also, the dark zone checkpoints should have your stash.

Not really a fan of people randomly shooting me in the dark zone. There is zero benefit to going rogue against a player who clearly has no loot.

You do lose a tiny bit of DXP for dying legit too.

Ah, as long as it isn't too punishing. People need a good incentive to stay straight. Going rogue should be high risk/high reward.

It increases their notoriousness rating or something, giving them more xp.

I may have found a bug, but could use some help verifying it.

I have seen people on twitch do a mission where they go to the top of a building and turn on what appears to be radio relays or electrical work. It is not the virus collection thing. In my game I have gone there and there is no enemies and no wall boxes to activate. I also show no running missions on the map, and no one in the base has anything to say to me to give me more, same as the board.

Can anyone tell me the sequence of events that leads o this mission so I might know where my game broke?

So what do I do in contaminated Dark Zone areas? I see chests that seem like you should be able to open them, but you can't, and there's nothing else there.

Check the messageboard in the base and in the camp, that should unlock the quests.

So I got a scope mod for my weapon and equipped it. It looked like there was a tooltip for how to look through scope but I missed what it said. Can you look through scopes if so how?

Yesterday the DZ finally clicked for me for the first time. Me and a friend playing on the Xbone managed to survive a manhunt twice and it was really really fun.

We now have 5 or 6 DZ keys but can't find a chest to open. Is there a level requirement or something like that? We found one on Madison Library near the safe room but it doesnt show a prompt to open.

Hopefully there is more to do in the dark zone in the normal game, right now it is completely empty. Since they locked all the chests, there's no way to get good gear besides finding another player who might have good loot and killing them or by buying it. I really enjoy exploring and killing npc's with whomever is walking by, but there's not much reward in it.

If only they disabled auto aim in console versions.Would make shooting so less arcade!.As it is now it is:get cover, aim while in cover,L2,R2,repeat.
Without auto aim gunplay would be seriously another thing.

Wait for the chest to "restock".

I saw some chatter elsewhere that it was a bug. I've had multiple keys on me for a lot of the time and still haven't found a chest that could be opened and I checked all the known locations.

don't know if its cause there's little to do in the beta but my feelings towards the game aren't what they used to be. i'm finding it quite boring. like it has some high moments (extracting loot from dark zone is tense especially when there's a bunch of other random agents around) but for majority of the time its pretty flat, with nothing happening.

the world feels pretty uninteresting, sometimes i feel like i'm running for centuries just for something to happen, and when it does happen, its a skirmish against the same 3 or 4 red hooded enemies i've had multiple times before. that brings me to enemy variety, again, this is probably impacted due to being a beta, but yeah they don't feel that different, aesthetic or mechanic wise, i know there's the bat wielding rushing guys, then there's the regular handguns/grenade guys and the assault/marksman rifles guys. plus, i don't have a problem with the enemies being bullet sponges, i just hate that they "tank" grenades.

also, i've said it before, i'm not sold on the being a 3rd person shooter without a crouch/sneak button, i've never realized how essential that was for me until i started playing this.

dark zone is probably the most fun but i feel it needs a few changes, you should only go rogue after killing someone, not because you deal an x amount of damage, i say that because in instances where i was rogue hunting with some randoms, some of them accidentally got in the line of fire and it turned me rogue even without them dying. for this reason, its also too easy to bait people into going rogue, you shoot them a few times with your handgun and wait til they (rightly) return fire, most likely with their primary, and they go rogue and there you have a chance to hunt a rogue agent and get "easy" dark zone funds.

if i hadn't played this beta i would've bought the game day one. now i'm not so sure and will likely have to evaluate reviews and how many friends are buying before i go through with a purchase or not.

-Seems like a game that will be starving for content after a month

How long do you typically play most games? A month seems like a really long time to play 1 game to me. Dunno how that's not worth it.

*Most likely not buying The Division, I hope I'm still playing other things plus April is huge.

Dark zone looks intresting. Havnt spent too much time there. Is there any limitations on how many friends you can team up with in the dark zone? Can you bring 50 friends and just take it over?

Also non dark zone reminds me of Destiny. Fun now, but i can se it becoming repetitive. Doing the same missions over and over. Also the bad guys are standing in the same place, doing the same things aswell in the city.

But fun now atleast

I have read on reddit that both alpha testers and press Event Players said their Versions of the game had way more NPCs and enemies going on in the world.

I have come to feel that we are not quite playing the game how it is going to be on release

You can only have a group of four as far as I know. As far as the guys standing around, Ubi also mentioned that they removed the patrolling npc groups and that kind of thing because they wanted people to focus more on the PvP for the beta.

The chests act on a first come first serve, they restock but more often that not people already got there.

I have 46 keys, I've opened 2 chests all weekend....

The material chests restock after 2 hours (one of The tips On The loading screen). I think The darkzone chests follow the same rules.

What the! Been waiting ages to try to access the beta Gave up as the website kept telling me I had no access. Randomly checked uplay website just now and there's an access key there No email or anything saying I had access I could have just missed it totally That's pretty rubbish of ubisoft.

Anyway, where do I type the bloody access code to get this thing? I'm sure there's easier ways of doing all this.

Anybody going to help with this? Cheers.

I'm glad the DZ doesn't give you regular xp. I'm closing in on level 8 , but I don't want to be level 8 because that'd place me in a different bracket than my friend who hasn't played the beta much. Being able to play around without the fear of going over is great.

Played for about four hours last night on the PS4.

The single-player mission was very ... generic. Not bad but not great by any means.

The Dark Zone was much more interesting. Got some loot and did some extractions in a party of three. I even got to kill a rogue. The dark zone play reminded me a little of EVE online.

I don't know if I'll buy it on day one but the two guys I played with said they would. So, overall, a positive experience.

Anyone what time the beta ends? I've just heard January 31st.

Had a blast last night in the DZ. There was 2 groups of 4 working together and they went rogue and my friend and I got killed. Respawn and decided to start hunting them down, traded a few shots from distance but with that many people they instantly revived anyone that was downed. For some reason they took a turn and went to a dead end so we camped the entrance. Slowly more people started gathering together and we were able to kill all of 8 of them. It was ~15 stand off and it was great, I was on the fence but after that I got the season pass.

Found this baby on DZ vendor last night, does insane damage to AI & players. Against players we are talking 80-90% of their total HP gone in single headshot.

Edit: I wonder if game has more modern bolt action rifles, but also nice to see Mosin Nagant in action in game that is set in 2015

I think this is probably true. We'll see soon enough.

Did that already and just double checked them again. I think it might be a mission form the ranking officer in the main base, but neither she, nor the two boards have any means of interacting currently. I have used all three at least once and did everything that they had given me.

Does anyone know if that mission is part of a quest line that maybe an earlier part got glitched for me? As I said, it is the mission on the upper roof that has you flipping what might be breaker boxes, possibly related to a data connection or energy issue. It is not a virus mission form what I saw in that video.

I am max level already and done everything the game offers except a couple collectibles.

I think there was an earlier mission where you might find a guy in the sewers, does this lead to another mission maybe?

Seems like you're a bit ahead of me. Was saving up for the orange gun so haven't bought too many purples:

Had fun in the Dark Zone again last night. Highlights include getting chased through the streets by a gang of three rogue agents, heart-pounding stuff. Also managed to set my paranoia aside for a bit and team up with another dude for a while. We managed to get a lot of stuff done actually.
