The Division Beta Thread: Make Manhattan Great Again

I have to agree with you .In the closed beta I was not using any jackets because of this single strap which was bugging me quite a lot.I realised the tactical hoodie kinda works best with it and it was the only "jacket" I was using.

I don't want my soldier to look like this from behind ,Ubi!

I use a sling style backpack for fly fishing in the backcountry here in Wyoming and I can say that I wouldn't go back to a traditional pack for anything but backpacking. I have quick access to everything (tippet, flies, leader etc) without taking off the pack. I boulder in it to get to pools and it doesn't make me feel off weight. It's really sweet.

In the world of the Division, I'm glad my medic is going to have a sling style pack. He's more ergonomic and he'll be able to get his gear on the fly. :)

Didn't see this in the beta, but after watching the faction video, wonder if grinding for faction rep will make its way into the game. Either as part of a quest line to infiltrate one of the factions, or maybe in the DZ once you've become disavowed from The Division. Can already see myself farming for that flamethrower!

the beta disappeared from my Uplay client...what happened??...I played the closed beta and afterwards had hidden it under my Games tab but when I looked today the game is no longer there...is this normal?...will it come back again before the open beta or do I need to re-download?

Can't say what happened with the PC copy, but my Xbox One beta client just started updating.

A friend and I joked about this during the closed beta, but they actually did it. They apparently kept a count of how many car doors were closed during the beta. The number is 7,184,867,422 doors closed, for those curious.

Don't remove closed beta client and when open beta becomes downloadable on 16th just add it from "Free Games", system should find existing install and just patch it.

I just tried looking around and can't seem to find out if a 2 or 14 day trial gold code will allow me to do dark zone stuff, I'm turning gold back on for the full launch but don't want to until I have to, thanks for the input.

hope that's the case...I didn't technically remove the game, I just kept it 'Hidden' so it doesn't show up in my Games Library...but for some reason it's no longer there

It's still on your hard drive just not launchable from the client yet. If you find its folder and try to manually run it, it asks for a license for the game so they just need to re-apply / remove the license requirement with the patch or something, which is coming closer to the beta

My fav moment of the beta was when I met 2 other people through prox game chat and we teamed up. Saw two people trying to extract near that gas station.

We were stalking them and talking amongst ourselves if we should try and kill them. Then we hear "uhh we can hear you..."

Then one dude in our group said something like "SHIT THEY KNOW" and opened fire on them haha

This cracked me up.

Proxy game chat sounds really awesome! I guess KZ2 had it too, you could hear your enemy voice chat if you were near.

That reminds me how KZ2 was so awesome. GG had one job, I'd be all over a KZ 2.5, but they had to go and make KZ3.

Do you happen to know how big the range is?

Is it clearly noticebale all the time or does it become louder and clearer the closer you are? (Would be kind of cool :D )

I've got to stop firing up the Beta on X1 'just incase'. Wanting someone at Massive to accidently push the big red button :(

Oh, I haven't played the Division, just think that proxy game chat makes the world more cohesive, and KZ2 had it with success. Would be glad to hear the answer to your questions though!

I tried out the previous beta and had a blast with my friends but we grew bored of the dark zone really quickly and since there wasn't much to do in the open world other than the encounters after doing all the sidequests...

I'm worried this will grow old soon. I loved everything about it except the sensation that it will be boring after a short while.

beta was very minimal content. Like almost nothing.

Yeah, the full game will have a lot more to keep us occupied. That and the prospect of levelling up your character and the loot chase will keep people busy. It's hard to invest in a Beta character when you know it will be wiped (although I still played a hell of a lot trying to chase that sweet sweet loot).

Downloading the Gold Edition now. Thank you brasil store. 65 euro instead of 90 euro or even 100 euro on my own store is a big difference. :p

Well, there's not much point to collecting loot if you don't find the PvE or PvP fun. Personally I'm liking the DZ, but I get it if people aren't as enthused by that portion of the game.

Oh absolutely. If a game isn't fun then that's that. But making assumptions on there not being enough to do (in PvP or PvE) based on the Beta alone is short sighted. If you didn't like the feel of the game, the gunplay, cover system or setting etc. then fair enough. The biggest complaint I (and many others) had about the beta was that there wasn't enough to do - which is to be expected. Hopefully the open Beta will give a fuller picture :)
