The Division Beta Thread: Make Manhattan Great Again

press the left d-pad then hold RT and release when you have a good area to throw the grenade. If you hold the left d-pad, you can switch between grenades before using it.

I don't know about the pistol. It has infinite ammo, so it probably can only be used if you are using the shield perk (you can only use a pistol with the perk).

Oh crap thanks so much on the grenade tip! Gotta actually press Left on D-Pad not hold it. It was driving me crazy.

As for the pistol, I found if you go to inventory and re-equip it then you can use it but once you change it goes back to being not selectable. Pressing or holding Y (on Xbox) only changes between the two larger guns. Might be just for the skill or when you run out of primary ammo..

Try double tapping Y

Press "Y" to switch primary weapons, double tap "Y" to switch to pistol.

You da man too!! :)

Thanks all for helping with my noob questions ha. I love the setting of this game as I'm from Jersey, I'm getting a kick out of just exploring around and seeing NYC.

Np mate. I don't even play on Xbox, I just picked that up from some article XD

And man,it must be really cool to explore an area in a game that you actually live in.
Recognizing stuff yet? I mean, apart from the huge landmarks of course.

Either way it helped a ton!

It's quite interesting to see NYC realized in gaming form, similar to GTAIV except more realistic. It's a tall task because of the many details and whatnot that go into building a huge virtual city. Overall it's pretty cool I must say.

I recognize the areas and streets a bit, and then the landmarks, and I'm really interested to see the final game since this is only a portion.

So it seems like the beta is the same thing as the xb1 alpha from last month?

Seems to be mostly the same, content-wise, but with some bugfixes and tweaks.

The biggest changes seem to be to the Dark Zone. According to the patch notes they've added another entrance (not sure if they've actually increased the map area, or just opened up another road that was previously blocked off entirely), and done some other tweaks there (changed level brackets and added Landmarks with more challenging encounters).

According to the devs they fixed "10000 bugs" thanks to the alpha XD

Thanks....
And how about *final game* end game content? Is it have anything like destiny raids/strikes (I dont play pvp) ?

the endgame has been kept pretty under wraps.
we know the dark zone is a huge part of it and we know you can replay missions on higher difficulties.
but apart from that, we are in the dark
zone

So far, almost every enemy I've encountered goes down in less than a clip.

Normally can take out 2 or 3 people before a single reload.

I'm really looking forward to play this tonight, but I'm still not convinced if I should buy this or not.

Feels like they went away from the MMO concept at launch to a singleplayer game with coop features. Also the missing info about endgame (or even complete lack of endgame content?) doesn't make me feel better...

A lot has to do with playing solo or in a group. In a group enemies have way more health so you need to cooperate to take them down.

Another big part is your actual stat management. If you set your guy up properly, you will mince elite enemies. If you half ass it, you need to pump more bullets into them.

it IS an RPG afterall.

Game is a month away, expecting to know deets on endgame stuff is a little too hopeful lol. SFV is out very soon, we're still missing some info.

Another reason is the press reviewers were fighting purple and yellow enemies which are veterans / elites so they'll automatically tougher, then add the fact that they were playing in a 4p group.

I solo'd the medical wing and there was a guy on the roof who was a pain in the ass, I must've hit him with 3-4 grenades and countless clips before he actually died.

Anyone else who signed up for a ps4 code get the first email that said you had guaranteed access but not receive a second email with the product code yet? I got mine but my wife and a friend of mine both only received one email so far (this was from signing up almost 24 hours ago). Also nothing listed under beta access on their uplay accounts.

That was the boss :)

btw,is it just me or are grenades less of a huge damage dealer and more of a "flush them out of cover or put a dot/CC on them" thing?

for every mission you can select matchmaking.
for the open world, you can go to camp hudson (a social hub) or any safe house (also social hubs) and find people to adventure with.

in the dark zone, you can go in alone and technically be able to meet people and join their group. unless they kill you XD

Try logging into uplay via your PSN account rather than e-mail / password. Think there's a button to do so under the login text fields. That's what got it to show up for me.

Ok i gotta hand it to them, the weather effects really change the entir feel of the game.

the fog makes it crazy hard to see and people can walk really close to you before you even see them.
the snowstorms look fantastic.

is there rain though? I haven't seen it rain yet.
