Resident Crybaby
It's been one hell of a year in videogames. Several big surprises (Expedition 33, Oblivion remake), long awaited games finally arriving (Hollow Knight: Silksong), and familiar IP being reinvigorated (Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World). I think it's arguably the best year in gaming we've had in many years.

We've got a few more big hitters left in the year (Silent Hill f, Ghost of Yotei, Metroid Prime 4), but most of the heavy hitting GOTY-esque games have come and gone.

why on earth u will ask this when games arent even out ? :P

Any way to merge your poll with the thread from earlier in the day discussing the exact same thing?

Fight is between Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 & Silksong.
A vote on the others is like voting for some obscure communist or green party, a wasted vote.

I don't see how Mario Kart's going to be GOTY, when the fanbase seems kinda divided on it, and we're seeing Mario Kart 8 outsell it now.

Any year where there are good deal of surprises (Clair Obscur, Split Fiction, Blue Prince, etc.), great games leaving early access for v1 release (Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, Hades 2), and already good games still in early access (Dyson Sphere Program, No Rest for the Wicked, Schedule 1, Timberborn, Windblown)

Clair Obscur for me though.

If Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 wasn't on that list.... it'll be MGSDelta.
But we still have a few games left in the year, mainly let's see how Silent Hill F turns out.

Haven't played Silksong yet

Should I finish the first game? Played it on game pass a long time ago. Can't remember why I stopped playing.

Was thinking of picking up silksong on switch 2

It's Clair's year.

Only thing left that can personally topple it is ninja gaiden 4, but I don't see it changing the majority.

Clair will hopefully be a wake up call to Square to gives us an amazing game with final fantasy 17.

Other.

Don't know, don't care. The concept is meaningless beyond my own personal choice, and the year isn't over yet and there is a lot left for me to play.

GOTY means nothing.

E33 will win but my vote is for Kingdom Come 2. Game of the generation for me. Chance to start broke and naked and end up living real history. Best open world I've ever seen.

Great year for gaming no matter how you slice it.

Can definitely say it's not E33 for me. Will be rolling my eyes when it does win though. But better it than GoY I suppose.

Other than that, Shinobi had been the dopest game I've played this year hands down. Nothing beats it's satisfaction.

Hopefully Expedition 33 runs away with everything this year just like LOTR did at the Oscars way back when.

Can't wait for the epicness of that music blasting during TGA.

it's Death Stranding 2, but the year is far from over for me with SHf and Yotei

I dropped it about 8 hours in, unlocked some side mission "sniper rifle", after going
through one of those gates
for the first time and creating some links.

I've been tempted to give it another shot, but maybe later through the year. Something about the game felt too easy and depressing... What is your take on the game? I loved the first game a lot, on PC. I also have a big backlog and other games I'm curious to play these upcoming weeks :)
