Looking at twenty year old photographs of yourself with awful haircuts and clothing choices is already embarrassing. How much worse will it be for trendy people who went all in on tattoos because it was the hip thing to do? Tattoos will go out of style and then you end up looking like this.

Games, even good ones, just don't have that sort of cultural reach. Hell, most movies and TV aren't venerated over the long haul for their politics, because rather obviously politics tend to change with the times and what was once very much on-point (in its dayt) end up mostly quaint or dated by reflecting the contemporary values of a long past time.

Which basically leads me to the conclusion that the more political a thing is, then the more likely it is to be forgotten or just a curio in the long-term. It actively hurts in posterity.

And of course, when something comes storming out, trumpeting its "values" in these polarized times, then literally half the audience will reject it on its face!

Leads me to the conclusion that these faddishly political titles will fail (economically) in the present, and worse will have no future to speak of.

Why the fuck anyone would waste their time making stuff like this is beyond me! And I can't help but think all involved will end up bitterly regretting pissing their opportunities away on futile attempts at activism.

No game is going to make "a difference" politcally! Its the dumbest aim imaginable to even try!

Thing is, most extreme ideologies hold this belief they are the "ultimate stage of humanity". The devs of this game must seriously believe they're making some timeless product that'll be looked upon by future generations as some sort of pioneer.
 
This just screams "we are way in over our heads and don't know how to salvage our own game".

Ambitious is good, but it can result in this dry heave.

My guess is that the people that made this game are so delusional, they actually think this makes them look cool and edgy.
They can't even realize that the rest of society sees them as plain morons.
 
It does look like it is supposed to show that the band is, at this point, very lame and all over the place lyrics/song/music -wise.

But it just does not work. The segment is playable and you guitar-hero along a lame song in a boring qte, for too long. In other words the implementation sucks.

Something smaller that would go faster, would be more humorous.

Also I don't know how early in the game this happens, but if it's indeed the "intro", then, yeah... a lot of players will be turned off before even getting the "joke".

Agreed (on the first 3 points at least).

The trooper is being helpful here. He advises them to avoid politics in their lyrics because people in that city, unlike that other city, could probably not like that.

There're hints there that the city is not a liberal paradise, and probably far from it, sure.

But assuming fascism from what actually transpired in that video is a huge stretch
 
I heard that there was a game coming out where you can smash fascists and I thought wow, I didn't know Wolfenstein 3 was out already. Oh wait they don't mean actual fascists, just people who don't want to watch their girlfriend getting clapped.

The thing with woke is it always feels like a clear parody and they are taking a piss but then you realise they are actually serious...
 
You can't parody someone who is permanently in a clown world because humor involves a punch line that confronts reality. Since they can't grasp reality, they are unable to be funny, let alone parodic.

Yeah this is exactly the kind of c-list, diverse, strong female slop I'd expect to show up on Gamepass. I was surprised it isn't already.
 
Such a weird an bold move to make a game targeting people they wish played video games (the diverse cast you see jumping and laughing in a sofa during game presentations) instead of the people that actually play games.
