As some of you know, I just finished up my third V16 on PS4. I don't really get into my builds, but id like to share that I have experience in a few different classes. I've completed all quests, collected all lore books, and have recently had a lot of success in pvp.
So I'm sitting at my office last Wednesday and the CEO of our company lets himself in. He's a fantastic boss, and is around regularly. He asked for me to show him how to do something on excel lol. If you look in my recent posts, that excel template of my night blade build came up when I opened excel. I quickly went to close the window, but it apparently peaked his curiosity. He asked me what it was, and I mentioned it's helping me with a game I play at home. His response once he realized it was for ESO: I HAVE A 38 Dragonknight!!!!!
And so it began, lol.
In about 5 seconds he transformed from a CEO to a 38 DK in daggerfall saying "hey ur armor looks kewl".
Seriously though, he asked me questions for three hours. We went over the following...
Why he should use both bars (he was only using a primary) I went over his class, race, weapons, passives, attributes, literally everything. He started taking notes. Lol he wrote down which skills to use on his bars, what to aim for on several stats, etc. He also wrote down my PSN, and we played that night..
So there I was, roaming cyrodiil with my CEO with no mount. I was on my DK, using the same skills I recommended to him so he could understand the timing and effectiveness of that play style. He caught on really fast, and we actually 2vX'd for a couple hours.
The questions from him have not stopped, lol. On Sunday..something really special happened. He called me, and told me he was happy that our shared interest brought us closer. He said, "I'm flat out impressed with your competence, competitiveness, determination and demeanor. I enjoy listening to you speak about ESO because you're a subject expert and you patiently taught me your play style. I'd like you to take all of those skills, and focus them on the new sales implementation in LA. Go understand what we're trying to accomplish, believe in it, and train the sales reps just like you trained me."
I was promoted to Western Director of Sales. I was an account manager before.
Not sure I really believe this, but if so !!

Is the PS4 NA GAF guild dead? I never see anyone on anymore.
Just curious, is there a Community Page for ESO PS4 users?
Is the PS+ deal for the Imperial Edition + 5500 crowns a "good" deal? I think it's $70 for it. I was considering picking it up but wasn't sure how much use those crowns get and what they're worth.
Honestly, I wouldn't do that right now. There's rumours the game may go fully free to play.

So no announcement regarding the game going totally F2P in that regard, right? If I'm interested in playing the game, it's "safe" to purchase it?
Bear mounts and bear cubs! I'm so excited!
hm I may end up returning to this game on PS4. I do love ESO, but kind of fell out of it for the longest time. Is the GAF guild still getting a decent player base or should I seek our a new full time guild? Thank god for 5 guild system
I only ever see one other person on the GAF guild when I go on, and the fact that it's the same person every time makes me think the guild is dead. Check out Daggerfall Trading Co II.
Thanks for the thoughts on F2P - I'll probably pick this up over lunch and hope it downloads by tomorrow, ha.
One question though...How do dungeons and such feel on a controller versus M&K? I've never done the console MMO thing, so I'm not sure what to expect. I typically play tanks, so I'm wondering how targeting will feel without the use of a mouse to help me out.
In general, GAF guilds don't last in MMOs. There are exceptions, but you're generally better off looking elsewhere, IMO.
ZOS is going all in on voice chat it seems. There's a new system coming with Orsinium.
Orsinium seems interesting, and I'll check it out at some point, but the November timing is bad.
After mainlining Destiny I gave ESO a go. Previously I had only ever gotten a char up to about level 10. Dabbled with alts ect.
So I got my Templar (love being able to heal myself) and gave it a solid week getting to level 25. Overall I really enjoy the game but man a lack of text chat is really hurting my experience. I have yet to find a guild because i simply cannot ever speak to anyone. The voice chat is buggy as hell. Vicinity chat seems to be completely broke. I get that they realized that not everyone has a console keyboard but why not include it as another option for those that do.
I can never just jot out a quick question. Guild chat when I did find one (and left) had so much background noise from people playing the game. Constant clicks, buzzes ect.
I often feel like I'm playing a diet version of Skyrim. a solo game except for the occasions assistance. This is the least social MMO I've ever played.
I really want to like it but I'm not sure I can handle the communication model.
What is this new voice chat you speak of?
ZOS hired Vivox to incorporate its voice chat technology into the XB1 and PS4 versions of ESO.
Nevermind. Just read on the ESO forums that the article I got my information from was wrong according to ZOS.

why would you be against giving players more options? if the chat bothers you then just put in a simple turn off or hide chat window option in the UI options menu. Does it really take John Carmack, or some other coding genius to put something like that in the game?I've lobbied heavily against text chat in ESO on consoles, and will continue to. If you want text chat buy a PC - any old potato PC can run ESO. Console is about social community through voice.

I prefer text, to some guy's dog or kid making noise. Also give us the option to turn off area voice chat, and let it stay that way, instead of having to manually turn it off every single time I log in.
Again a bunch of wtf decisions, that snowball and then you just get annoyed and stop playing. Shame because the base game is pretty great, I like the battle system and pvp, and skill system.

Did microsoft even make a chatpad for the xbox one yet?
It's available November 10.
This is idiotic. FFXIV has text chat on consoles and it's great. I also don't see how "console is about social community through voice" makes any sense, since there is absolutely no way to come into an area chat and speak above the 50-100 other people speaking at the exact same time. Voice. Chat. Does. Not. Work.
Just bought IC and fiddled with for a while and it's amazing. The Imperial Sewers is like some horror game shit going on, specially when you solo it, you never know who is lurking around waiting to gank you so there's always that feeling of not being safe at any moment.
If Orsinium is this good, then I'm all over it. ZOS has made some shit decisions, but the DLC they are pushing is good quality stuff.
Also one thing that IC fixed is the lag in Cyrodiil, splitting up the server between two different big instances, in this case Cyrodiil and Imperial City, probably made it a lot more manageable for the pvp server to handle. Things are pretty smooth now, I'm very very impressed.
