The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited - |OT| - Console edition

I’ve posted a few times here but never actually wrote what I think so far. Kinda long but whatever.

I’ve played a few hours currently level six and still getting the hang of things.

This is my first MMO however i’ve played Oblivion and Skyrim. I think its pretty cool. It’s fun seeing towns completely full of people running around doing their own thing. There are pets and mounts all over the place, people getting their asses kicked by the guards for accidentally stealing stuff and peoples dead bodies are all over the streets haha.

I spent a good 30+ minutes with these two random guys just going through emotes - we all were exercising in a circle. Then one guy was opposite me, feet to feet doing sit-ups. It reminded me of the start of Wheel s on Meals movie with Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao. Next a bunch of us played a different instruments, forming a little band while others danced. It’s just lame stuff like this that makes me laugh.

I am in the UK on a EU server and I am surprised with the results. It’s pretty smooth, I get a few seconds of shutter every 2-3 minutes but I didn’t even expect this to be working at all so i’m happy. I assume the servers will constantly be updated and get better over time.

Visuals are okay, I don’t care that they aren’t amazing. The game has all the Elder Scrolls designs and architecture and thats all I care about. The world does seem a little .. empty though. Like town areas are just pavement everywhere with nothing much going on until the little circle of stores or merchants. The music seems good so far, shame Jeremy Soule didn’t do the score - no idea why. It’s no Oblivion or Skyrim though.

What else? I don’t know its just cool. Forever all i’ve wanted is to play Oblivion or Skyrim with friends. Even just those games with coop would’ve been perfect. But to have hundreds of people in town running around on their own adventures is cool.

One thing that made me laugh was when I started doing the blacksmith, woodworker skill training. Whenever I needed to use the work benches there was a good 20 other players there too. All the players’ bodies where all merging into each other with us working and talking to NPCs to get supplies.

A friend of mine was big into Skyrim and really curious about this game. I set up a share play and he watched me play for an hour. He’s very on the fence but I think he’ll get it just so we can play. He recently got the Witcher and is thinking of trading it in for this (he doesn’t have much money for games so always buys and trades for new games.) He says the Witcher is very confusing and overly complicated so this might be easier for him to grasp.

But I will continue to play and do some more quests which I have a million to do at this point.

I got Nord. I don't know why but it was super exciting.

So PS4 GAF guild NA server time to make our heraldry... Any suggestions? No, there is no option or anything that looks like Bish so we have to come up with our own. Oh and to top it off, orange does not look orange it looks more fleshy so White/Orange GAF colors might not be the best options.

Pink and White and a picture of a bunny... Nope, just checked no bunnies you are all safe.

Ideas or suggestions peeps!

Can we only have a single Guild tabbard or are there multiple options? I was thinking it would be cool to have a darker one for more stealthy characters. ;)

Completely suckered into this now. There have been some legitimately good quests so far. I just finished up the Faolchu quest line this morning and really enjoyed it. Combat also feels much better than I expected it would.

Dungeon and group design is very lacking compared to things like WoW. I, like many I imagine, got into my first que expecting a more WoW like system. I'm not really expecting it to be improved because of the lack of subscription fees now. I'm assuming it will work itself out once us new guys get more experienced. Running with a guild with mics will definitely alleviate it too.

This game is extremely good, I'm really pleased with it. The quests are engaging because of their storylines and the music is awesome. Best purchase in a long time.

I actually think a darker tabbard would ultimately be the better choice. But its up to the guild. So we all have a say in it.

I bought this and it's almost finished dling stuff. I want to be part of the gaf guild, so what faction is gaf part of?

Yeah, so I pretty much hate crafting mechanics in all forms. I've gotten to the point where I completely ignore crafting/alchemy in other ES games. Doubt I'll do much of it here either. Is this game set up in such a way that you'll be screwed later on if you don't grind some craft? I know in the main games you can use it to get super gear but it is by no means required.

Well from what my PC buddies tell me, the best gear comes from crafting. BUT if you got a crafting buddy, just get the shit from them.

honestly do not do what you don't want to do. There will be plenty of crafters in the guild. Just save materials and send them to the guild and or keep them to give to a crafter later.

Where is the fence? Everyone is going nuts for stealing but I have no idea who to sell stuff too haha

I posted this a while back when people asked about how I was getting so much money. This method I posted is probably the reason why stealing is rampant. Even the devs in a twitch feed said stealing is the best way to make money in the game. They intended it to be that way because, there's risk involved plus there's a limit to how much you can get from stealing per day.

Nope, that takes too long.

Way of the thief

Watch an learn young grasshoppa

See when your stealing, there's certain things we're looking for to steal. And it's NOT armor and weapons. That stuff is a waste of inventory space. We must be wiser than that.

If all it takes to get money is to just get weapons and armor and break them down, and sell the materials, then why did I mention stealing specifically and not dungeon grinding for items???

Now your getting it young grasshoppa!!!

When your in a environment where there is containers to steal from, there's unique items called "treasure" that can be in them. This is what we are after. These items are high in value and can only be sold to a specific vendor for a high price!
These are examples of treasure items.

Notice the Value: 30 and 100 gold. Now you see how quickly you can obtain a couple grand. Good good young one. Your catching on well.

Now you may ask, who do you sell the treasure items to???

ah, excellent question young one!!

You see, there is a dark place, a place where only the ones on the dark side know of. The Outlaw Refuge.
214F2uF.png

These refuges are usually located in major cities and can be identified by their unique map icon.

Once there, you speak with the ledger to sell your stolen items too.

Now, for a word of wisdom, young one.
The ledger will only purchase a number of items from you every 24 hours, so be wise as to what you sell to the ledger!!! Make each sell count!
y2FuNCs.png

You will not be able to sell many items to the ledger at first, but sell enough and become more skilled in the way of the thief and more options will be open to you, young one.

Now, run along and make your master proud by becoming a great theif that I can be proud of!!!

I'm probably not going to be in the guild since I really wanted to start in the EP. As a result, I'll probably end up playing this as a single-player game. Besides, one of the main reasons for not wanting to deal with the crafting systems was that I don't like cluttering up my inventory or bank with all the ingredients and such. If I save them all to give to the guild it kind of defeats the purpose.

You could always join another guild or ask someone you know that crafts items to make them foe you. Most crafters will ask for money and materials. So having mats is good to give to your crafter. Sometime even as a courtesy for them taking time to make you items.

My skyrim friends are digging ESO but its a huge let down. My other friends that never played Skyrim are in love.

MMO development is fundamentally different than a game like Skyrim. Going into an MMO expecting a sequel experience to Skyrim is setting yourself up for disappointment. And I think that's what's happening.

this patch you guys are talking about, does it include server fixes?
They did not say. They did say they are working on capacity and other server side things. Patch will be client side and one of the mentioned fixes is the dissapearing npc bug. No other specifics.

They said they are submitting the patch for cert next week. Probably be the following week when we get it.

It's hit or miss for me. Sometimes I really want to sneak through and do some stealth, but here comes gung-ho Joe and his greatsword swinging at everything in his path.

Sounds like you're talking about public dungeons and he's talking about the specific group dungeons.

Black and purple should be the colors! Not sure on the pictures, what options are there?

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
Are these crafting dailies worth doing?

Did the clothing writ. What do I do with the rewards? Would it not be worthwhile to keep the mats?
