Well I was the lone guy at the castle when it got attacked, that sacked, so I escaped and rode off, thought I narrowly evaded being seen by this level 32 guy, but he turned around and attacked me...
Almost killed him twice, he kept popping potions though, I'm only a level 15 and had him down to a sliver each time

Yeah I learned it's best not to go alone into PvP. You will most likely end up running into a group of enemy players and get killed quickly.
Yeah I have a level 15 quest I have to do, but the guild master is not appearing in the guild hall

Just hit level 10 after about 25 hours lol. There's so much to do and explore! That's my favorite part about this game.
I'm excited to do the first dungeon later tonight!

Best thing to do is go to the map and scroll over each hold, it will tell you if people are there. The numbers are off though, sometimes it will say 6 daggerfall and 2 ebonheart and you get there and 200 people are going at it.
That was awesome, lol.

So I'm pretty lost in this game. So many things to try and grasp all at once it seems.
LMAO. Just had this happen today while we were waiting for a boss to respawn as well. We had dancers too. I love this game!
I haven't been playing that much. Hit lvl 21 a while ago. Trying to get into an elder hollow group.
Not that much really. Questing, talent points, pvp, dungeons every 7 levels , and crafting. I guess you could get overwhelmed with crafting and gathering. I'm skipping it for now personally. I also haven't been pvping.

So I got into a group last night for the banished cells, the healer immediately left and we were 2 night blades and a templar tank.
We said fuck it and started doing the dungeon, the other NB and I would open from stealth with a bow and immediately drop a mob each after the templar engaged them all. then e would go melee and clean the rest of the adds.
It was super cool, organized for a bunch of randoms and fun.... we also finished it.
The templar had a resto staff as the second weapon so he would pull those "oh shit heals" once in a while.
The last boss, at first, we were a bit stumped why he kept regaining health but then I noticed the mechanic called it out and we did it.
I am in love with this game honestly and with the NB, also a plus the fact that I can play pretty much 100% in 1st person which adds to the immersion imo.

Why is nobody talking in our guild chat? Buh!
No one talks anywhere, all I hear from voice chat is background noise and crying babies.
The group finder is gash, I keep getting groups then everyone leaves before hey even get to the dungeon.
You can assign shortcuts to emotes then press and hold right on the dpad to select the emote.

its easier to play by yourself than with friends
but seeing about 20 people in a dungeon thats meant to be abandoned is immersion breaking tbf, but it is an MMO and I loves it

But ya, walking into a crypt and finding all the enemies dead because there's 10 people in there running around can suck the solo fun out of things. On the flipside, I did go into such a crypt and it was amusing that a very low level player was tailing me so he could do the quest. Had fun basically protecting his ass.
That's my life everytime I enter pvp.
I'm sure playing in the mornings doesn't help.Hopefully i can get this issue fixed here...I just received this game through gamefly, after i installed and DL the patch everytime i login in it just says failed. I never even have a chance to enter my ID or PW just says login failed, and asks me to resend verification email. But of course that email never actually comes.

what campaig? I am in blackwater and it's always full. People just form large groups of 20 to 30 people and and go off somewhere. May seem empty, but there is always a large group plotting and scheming somewhere. Just need to find them.
I'll have to try that one then. I just chose a random campaign to guest in and I only saw one guy in an opposing faction, swimming towards me, and then he died via man-eating fish.

Yhea, pretty much. People do talk in cities which is nice. Ironically, it feels lonely at times with so many people around but no real interaction.
It was so bizarre! I get a scout mission and decide rather than running straight into enemy territory and risk getting ganked I swim through the lake. I run for 5 mins and get to the shore and see this opposing guy swimming towards me. Should I stealth and try to run away? He's twice my level, no point, he probably has a horse, I should just fight him like a man...holy shit he just drowned.

For some reason my Xbox One download speeds are awful, the install is at 24% and it says 'ready to play' but when I launch it I'm stuck at the announcements screen whilst it updates. I'm guessing that 'ready to play' is stretching the truth?
Traits by researching gear with traits (these are different from enchantments) and Styles by reading motifs which are dropped randomly

STYLES
To unlock more crafting styles, you have to find books called MOTIFS, for each style.
They are rare items that you randomly find out in the word. Don't ask where do you find them, because like I said they are random. Just loot stuff everywhere you go and you'll get them sooner or later.
TRAITS
And the traits. In order to learn a trait, you have to find a piece of equiptment that has the trait already on it, by either having someone craft the item wiht the trait you want or finding gear in the world with the trait, or buying gear with the trait.
and you have to "research" the trait(destroying the item in the process) to learn the trait off that piece of equipment.
It works the same way as learning an enchantment from skyrim.
But unlike skyrim, learning a trait takes real life time to learn, were as In skyrim, enchantments are learned instantly.
Each piece of equipment has their own list traits and you can only research so many traits at one time.
Each trait that you learn from a single piece of equipments, takes longer and longer to research as you learn more and more traits for that one piece of gear.
For example, we got a dagger that has like 8 listed traits. the first trait you try to research will take 6 hours, the next dagger trait you research(no matter what trait it is) will take 12 hours, the next 24 hours, all the way to the last one which takes 30 days. YES!! 30 fucking REAL LIFE DAYS to research.
Although there are passives to increase the number of items you can research at once and lower the amount of time it takes to research, but still........long time
EXTRA INFO ABOUT TRAITS
Also, one other thing, the main reason you want to research as many traits as possible is because, in order for you to craft the "SET ITEM" sets, each piece of set item gear has a trait requirement that must be met.
For example, to craft a set piece dagger, you need to have researched two traits before you can craft it.(any two dagger traits)
Set items sets are the most powerful gear in the game as each piece in the set you wear, gives you more and more bonuses up to 5 pieces. With 5 piece on, you gain some type of unique passive, for example, all spells cost is reduced by 8%.
As you can see, thats a huge advantage to have for casters.

I redeemed my code for the Explorer's Pack, but nothing was downloaded on my PS4 and I can't change races etc in character creation.

I don't think there is a download, mine just worked. You do need to play on the same PSN account you activated it on though. If that's not the problem just try restarting the game.
